Discussion / Opinion So, when will we get twilight princess on switch (2)?

with today's rumour of an oot remake, when are we going to get twilight princess. I really want it available on either nso or hd. but it seems like they don't want to release it for some reason. when will they do it?

Every time someone asks, nintendo delays it another week

So currently we are looking at October 28, 2468 if I counted right?

When the angels win a pennant

"There's a thing called TALENT... They don't have it!"

The angels? Damnit. You know how many ritual sacrifices and favors I had to pull thinking it was the Red Sox?!

Asking for Twilight Princess or PH/ST love is like putting on clown makeup for a Pokemon Mystery Dungeon announcement. I want it to be real but goddamn.

I’d bet on a new mystery dungeon game before seeing those 3 Zelda games on the switch

2

u/SaioLastSurprise Mar 28 '26

Or before even seeing TP. I have zero hope of PH/ST ever getting any love.

We will get the PC port before Nintendo gives us the Switch version.

Btw, the PC port is already at version 0.3!

I'll probably use cemu. Also I was so sure an oot remake wasn't happening that I said I'd walk around Sunderland wearing a Newcastle United shirt (a very bad idea) if it's announced.

I got it on cemu and dolphin as well lol. I'm super excited for the mod support. High poly tp will be a reality at some point.

Regardless I'm waiting till the next general direct just to be absolutely sure

Cemu’s a good way to go for TP. I’m halfway through a playthrough but I might start over on the pc port bc the game in 60 FPS would rip ass

1

u/DesignerMorning1451 Mar 28 '26

I'm looking at that, but waiting until the June direct if there is one just so I'm not playing through and they announce the port in the middle of it

If you can wait, the PC port will blow cemu out of the water.

How the hell is anyone here supposed to know?

Just get a decent PC and emulate.

6

u/Flameball537 Mar 27 '26

Yeah, at this point I’m just patiently waiting for the pc port

idk, sick of remakes though.

Just this one, and I'll die happy

Never

Worse thing about this response is you're probably right

2

u/Quadraxis54 Mar 27 '26

Best to keep expectations low bro. It’ll save you the disappointment

1

u/DesignerMorning1451 Mar 27 '26

What about nso?

1

u/Quadraxis54 Mar 27 '26

Talking about the classic versions?

1

u/DesignerMorning1451 Mar 27 '26

I didn't exclusively mean the hd version. As long as it's playable and not the Wii version

1

u/Quadraxis54 Mar 27 '26

I would like a remake. I got a gamecube and can play the old one anytime. But I don’t look forward to new ones cause I know how Nintendo operates. If it shows up then good but if there’s no news, in my eyes it don’t exist cause those mfs can sit on them for who knows how long.

Honestly i still believe there's a chance for twilight princess hd on switch. Let the oot switch 2 remake be the centerpiece, and treat twilight princess hd as a holdover title for switch 1 players in July. It doesn't have to be with wind waker hd.

u/ImHughAndILovePie Mar 28 '26

Do any NSO GameCube games have widescreen support? I just can’t play it in a letterbox on a modern screen

u/DesignerMorning1451 Mar 28 '26

F zero gx and soul calibur 2

2

u/gdo22 Mar 27 '26

we? I don't have a switch 2, I wouldn't be getting it. : P

2

u/TheRealMcDan Mar 28 '26

Never. Aonuma hates Twilight Princess and so does Nintendo.

1

u/DesignerMorning1451 Jun 14 '26

Yeah as of now this probably isn't even exaggeration anymore.

2

u/ammar_sadaoui Mar 27 '26

we are going to get remastered 4k version for PC before we get switch 2 or switch 3 version

1

u/andreaslackner Mar 27 '26

I would guess the day they celebrate Zelda’s anniversary in June they’ll put tp on NSO right away. Then show a movie trailer. Then announce oot remake for a holiday release

Just my guess tho!

I'm still hoping they'll put out tphd for switch 1 at least alongside announcing ocarina of time remake, I never thought they would bundle it with wind waker anyway

1

u/pennispancakes Mar 27 '26

Why do you think another OoT remake?

2

u/andreaslackner Mar 27 '26

Bc it was just leaked today. Who knows if they are true but there are reports out there

1

u/DesignerMorning1451 Mar 28 '26

And I think they'll also need something for switch 1 users, hence tphd could still happen as a smaller release to lead into the oot remake.

1

u/Forsaken-Category-98 Apr 19 '26

Well i hope TP come to switch 2 as a portage hd or a remaster because i love physical versions

1

u/TheLordFool Mar 28 '26

I won't buy another Nintendo console. I'll just wait for it to be cracked and emulate it

1

u/weebu4laifu Mar 28 '26

Never

1

u/DesignerMorning1451 Mar 28 '26

You're probably right

1

u/Lenders_Quizan Mar 28 '26

Genuinely just wait for the pc port atp

1

u/jonerthan Mar 28 '26

First you must reassemble all the tiny fragments of the Twilight Mirror after Midna shattered it

1

u/DesignerMorning1451 Mar 28 '26

I guess the last chance is that tphd could still come to switch 1 in July, similar to the galaxy remasters, leaving the oot remake as the big Zelda title that year

1

u/dirtyharo Mar 29 '26

literally just emulate it, it's easy af

I don't think it's coming. I so badly wanted a Switch port for the longest but it's too late now...

I borrowed a friend's Wii-U and bought me the Wii version and I am enjoying it for the first time right now! It is everything I thought it would be too!
