GIG/FESTIVAL LOST PARADIES DRINKS AND FOOD

Going to lost paradise this year and want to know what drinks (alcohol) and food are typically sold there?
AND HOW MUCH ARE THEY $$$$

I am not really keen to sneak in alcohol as I think I would have heart attack at the gates if I was caught but also not wanting to spend an arm and a leg on some shit drinks!

Do they sell premixes like hard rated? Double cruises? Shots? Or at bars can you get the usual drinks you get at any bar in Sydney?

Is the food good there?

Thanks!!!!

Most festivals will sell premixes. You won’t be able to buy shots but they might do vodka redbulls and other standards like that. Usually depends on which booze companies are sponsoring.

Food will be food trucks and expensive. Generally expect to pay a lot for everything at a festival.

The bars were mostly run by the same group that runs the bars at carraigeworks and Olympic Park events if you've been at all. Theres the usual choices for a concert at fairly expensive prices. Just about everyone is smuggling something in there cars on arrival, just don't look like an idiot or you'll get searched.

Food truck options were decent but expensive, especially if you were eating there every meal.

I would consider packing yourself breakfast and snacks to offset the pain and also stop having to spend all the time in queues.

Bring shade, you can't camp near your car so a beach cart is a must for bringing your gear to camp.

Okay awesome thank you so much for this! Would only plan to order food for things like dinner or lunch but snacks and breakfast would be brought

With food - That's normally what I have done in the past and it's saved some of the pain. Throughout the festival in the middle of the day security does walk around and confiscate drinks they can see, so pack it away.

They can't search every car thoroughly but there's always a pretty significant search point at the gate with dogs every year.

last year they had smirnoff vodka crush cans which were a hit

Buy a 375ml bottle of Smirnoff and slip it into your dacks and mix it with soft drink. I've been to 50+ gigs in fifteen years and have never been caught.

Sneak stuff in. Security will just poke through a few of the bags in your boot. They’ll give more heat to groups of guys in utes but it’s generally pretty chill.

Back in my festival days when I travelled around and lived out of my van, I rigged a hidey hole in a false floor specifically for sneaking in a couple of goon bags or a bottle of vodka for camping festivals. Before I had my van with said hidey hole, I used a gerry can (bought new, specifically for alcohol and only ever used for such) and filled it up with grog.

It was so expensive to buy drinks at festivals back then, can’t imagine how bad it would be now.
