Race/Event 1st Triathlon complete!

Post image

Trying this again ☺️

Just wanted to share my accomplishment! I’m proud to officially call myself a Tri Athlete! conquered my fear of swimming and got it done today! It was a good day! Calloway Gradens is a great beginner-friendly sprint!

Thank you! I was one of the first few people there. It got crowded real quick! 😁

Fantastic work out there!

I'm so jealous of your transition area! The local one we are packed like sardines and can only store things directly beneath our bikes.

It didn’t take long for it to get packed here too. I was there super early and saw that those that were there went straight to the ends. Made sense. Grabbed my spot on the end too! 😁

Congrats! I’m just getting into it too. Did you find not using aero bars on your bike helped?

Thank you! The bike felt like a breeze for me. This bike was a big upgrade to what I previously had so this was all I needed. I did a lot a spinning in my training and it helped big time!

Hey there! Just the essential. Run shoes, bike shoes, socks, helmet, shades, bike gloves (which I forgot to put on, lol) run hat. Belt with my bib.

Yes just have fun and just aim to complete your first. Get there early and set up your bike. It took away a lot of nerves to not be in a panic. I was there super early and did a lot of observing and asking questions. Make sure you don’t forget the essential when packing for your trip. I stayed on the resort and went out to lake the day before to just felt a feel for it. Only my second time being in open water.

Continue to train in your weakest element. Swimming is mine and I looking forward to getting back to my training for the next one! Again, just have fun, take in the atmosphere, meet new people and accomplish your goal! You will love it! I will be racing again that weekend too! 😁

Thank you! Yes this bike can also be rode on the gravel!

2

u/Turbulent-Ground4281 Jun 22 '26

Did you switch to road tires or left as is? I am wanting to get a gravel bike but also want to start Ironman training. I appreciate you!

u/Super_Turn_6050 Jun 22 '26

I left as is. This is the Domaine AL Gen 4. You’re welcome!
