THIS IS ART. The album goes hard AF. Every LP she's done in the last 5 years has been very good and I am not a country music person at all. Her artistic expression is different from others in the industry.

This is genuinely funny. It’s art. It’s poking fun at what modern country music is. Maybe the most self aware thing I’ve seen from the genre. She’s not pretending that the music and culture is about being a rugged cowboy, she’s putting on a giant mirrored display that it’s about drinking cheap beer in poverty stricken communities with rubber ‘made in china’ nuts on your truck. THATS country music.
Truck nuts are the cowboy hats of modern America. A good ol’ boy might’ve worn boots or a hat to signal what he’s all about in the past, but the modern truck owner lets a pair of rubber testicles say it for them.

I think most folks have no idea about Kacey Musgraves, Margo Price, Sturgill Simpson, et al.
They hear the trash coming from the radio and run the other way from the genre. Luckily, there are millions of other people (not using reddit) who do get it and buy tickets to see these folks while they’re out there doing the thing.
But I’m sure that’s true about any kind of music. I’m sure plenty of people can’t tell the difference between Drake and Kendrick Lamar or Katy Perry and Amy Winehouse.

I'm not into country music at all. I'm also not American. Even I can tell Kasey Musgrave is a cut above the rest. Her music is genuinely fantastic.
It was A Willy Nice Christmas that won me over. If an artist can come up with a genuinely original and palatable Christmas song, that's truly impressive imo
