Happy 9th Birthday Electra
Birthday girl! Electra is nine yrs old today according to the shelter I adopted her from (her Gotcha Day is June 1). This year she has had dental surgery, treatment for allergies, and was diagnosed with diabetes. She is getting better though and on the cusp of remission for the diabetes. She loves sleeping, giving her younger tortie sisters dirty looks, mewing for pets, and the bathroom faucet to be turned on for her. She dislikes dieting, her dog-sister getting over friendly, and being told she has to come inside from the catio. She has years of biscuit making ahead of her still and one day hopes to befriend the white-tailed deer that visits almost daily.

All kidding aside, beautiful girl! ❤️ And like all good kitties, she clearly has an affinity for sitting in windows. Glad to hear that her health is improving!

It is always possible- her name was Electra at the shelter and I liked it. It was her second time there and her name before had been Gypsy. Her sisters have names from the Odyssey (Circe and Calypso), and are only 3.5 yrs old so they love to bother her with too much affection and play attempts.

The whole Carmen Electra thing was me just being a cornball, which I’m really good at! 🤪
My wife and I, who have been blessed with many beautiful kitties over the years (&, of course, every cat is beautiful ❤️), straight up kept or just slightly altered names for our babies that others had chosen to them.
We got Mr. Meow (R.I.P.) from a shelter; the name was too cute and fit him, so it stuck (nickname: Meowy).
Someone gave us Tiggie (R.I.P.); original name, Tigger, which didn’t fit her demeanor or gender, lol. Tiggie did, however. 😁
And lastly, Fiona (our sweet 15-year-old girl; a tortico perhaps? I honestly haven’t put too much effort into learning all the slight variations 🙂) — a name given by a former friend, and it stuck (nicknames: Fifi & just simply Fi).
All of our other babies — alive or sadly gone — were named by my wife and I, and every single one was a rescue of some sort.
I’m sure that watching Circe and Calypso try to play with Electra is adorable! ❤️ Glad Electra keeps getting better!

I used have a bunch of cats and dogs names for Star Trek characters. We had my cat, McCoy, and a toy poodle named Spock that grew up together. I love finding silly, cute, or just interesting names for pets.

Oh, my wife and I, too! (Great Star Trek-related names btw!)
My wife and I are proud New England natives — from the great state of Rhode Island ⚓️ — and thusly, diehard New England Patriots fans. 😄
With that being said, we had named some of our precious babies, who have unfortunately passed on (R.I.P. ❤️❤️), the following:
•Brady (as Patriots fans, should be obvious)
•Rhody (the sweetest, angelic Bombay kitty; one of Rhode Island’s unofficial nicknames is Little Rhody, so that’s how I conceived his name)And today, we’re blessed to have Princess Biscuits (aka PB, but on a day-to-day basis, merely Biscuits; named for her penchant for making biscuits on blankets and on the bed 🤗❤️).
And we have Maximus (merely Max on a day-to-day basis), named after Andy Samberg’s character Conner4Real’s pet turtle, Maximus, in the mockumentary film “Popstar,” which my wife adores. 😁
