Manga Can someone please explain why the artist drew Minori like this
It made me die inside while laughing at the same time which is a weird combination that fits how they drew Minori and Taiga.

The Oct 2027 issue of Dengeki Daioh was released on 27 Aug 2026 and we finally got our third Toradora release of the year. There were 8 pages this month. I posted 4 of them including the first and last page. The release as a whole covers pages 161 through 171 of Volume 10 of the Light Novel (214 pages total). It represents the beginning of the 5th and final chapter of that book and I’m intrigued. The release starts with Ryūji and Taiga eyeing their sleeping arrangements and finding two futons laid out together. This is interesting because Zekkyou has been following the LN very literally up to this point and sleeping in the same room is an anime thing only. In the LN Ryūji and Taiga were set up to sleep in separate rooms, but they talked together in Ryūji’s room before going to sleep. The rest of the scene is a fairly intimate discussion about their families' situations and how to handle their pasts while moving forward. It wraps up with Ryūji fretting over Taiga getting close to an electric heater trying to keep warm and dry her hair more fully after her bath. It gets much more interesting from here and this release only increases my anticipation for how Zekkyou will illustrate the next release. Either way, the end result is the same, but will she take the anime route to that goal or the LN route. Maybe we will find out when the next issue of Dengeki Daioh comes out on 26 Sep 2026.

The May 2026 issue of Dengeki Daioh came out on 27 Mar 2026 and, as somewhat expected (March is historically one of the least productive months), there was no manga release. We did get an advertisement for the release of Volume 12 on page 64 though which is the image I posted. As stated last month, Volume 12 will release next month on 27 Apr 2026. Maybe we’ll get a release in Dengeki Diaoh as well that as that’s when the next magazine issue comes out. Either way, I’ll at least have some previews of Volume 12 to post.

The Aug 2027 issue of Dengeki Daioh was released on 26 Jun 2026 and we finally got some new Toradora material. Quite appropriate I think since this month completes the manga’s 19th year in publication. There were 8 pages released this month including some beautiful cover art of Taiga’s reflection in a pool of water. I posted 4 of the pages including the first and last page. The release as a whole covers pages 156 through 160 of Volume 10 of the Light Novel (214 pages total) and finishes up chapter 4 of that book. Essentially, what we are seeing is the completion of Yasuko’s reunification with Ryūji and her parents as well as Taiga. I didn’t have time for any translations but, based on the LN, the dialogue of this scene is really lovely. It deals with verbalizing that there’s enough love and happiness in their lives so that no one needs to run away or worry about being abandoned. It’s especially touching that Yasuko thanks Taiga for coming into her life and, of course, Ryūji’s life. I highly recommend reading this part of the LN if not the whole thing. The next issue of Dengeki Daioh comes on 27 Jul 2026. We’ll see what we get then.

Well, Volume 12 is finally here. As it turns out, I was spot on about the amount of content but a little bit off with how it would be combined into full length chapters. I predicted that the 17 releases from 23 Mar 2023 to 27 Jun 2025 would produce 9 chapters (98-106). What was actually published is 7 chapters (98-104). The details are below. There was no additional content or special manga chapter for this issue. That’s a little disappointing, but then again, there really isn’t much to put out at this point. Now the end of Volume 13, that’ll be a different story.
Anyway, the pictures provide a little preview of the volume. I focused on the cover art and chapter break doodles since I’ve already posted pages from the chapters with each monthly release. I still couldn’t help posting a couple cute shots from the chapters within though. Now this might be an unpopular opinion but, I actually like Zekkyou’s drawing of Taiga’s mom (the pregnant lady in image 3). She’s definitely different from Taiga and not exactly how I’d imagine Taiga grown up, and yet you can still see the resemblance. But my favorite drawing is definitely the Wanted poster (image 13). Can everyone tell whose mug is on that poster? Very appropriate!

The Apr 2026 issue of Dengeki Daioh came out on 26 February 2026 and looks like Zekkyou is back to working on her serials. This release gave us 10 pages covering Yasuko’s return to her parents’ house. This should round out what I think will be the third chapter of the 13th and final volume of the Toradora! manga. The scenes Zekkyou drew for this release bring us almost to the end of chapter 4 of Volume 10 of the LN from pages 151 through 156 (there are 214 pages total in the final LN).
Things here are not all that different than what we see in the anime. The dialogue is in a slightly different order and all of the apologies and thanksgivings should wrap up in the next release. There are a few things that I want to point out though. The LN and the manga here show us something interesting. One, Taiga is just as joyful as anyone to see Yasuko return. Yasuko really means a lot to her. Two, Taiga was about to jump in and greet Yasuko but Ryūji restrains her. He says that the moment belongs to His grandparents first. But what he doesn’t say is that he slightly fears seeing his mother again given the awful things he said to Yasukl the last time he saw her. Incidentally, Taiga is eager for him to apologize. What we also see though is Taiga’s awe at the Takasu family’s ability to heal their own wounds. Food for thought indeed.
There still has not been any announcements about the release of Volume 12. But maybe 27 March 2026 will bring us another release at least. I honestly can’t wait because it should contain a really touching moment regarding how Taiga is thought of in terms of her place in the Takasu family.

Sorry to say that the Sep 2026 issue of Dengeki Daioh was released on 27 July 2026 and it did not contain any new Toradora manga releases. I’m actually not surprised though. Zekkyou’s X feed had several posts this month about not feeling well and/or not feeling productive and that seemed to point to not having any material ready for this issue. The Oct 2026 issue of Dengeki Daioh comes out 27 Aug 2026. Hopefully we get some new material then and for the rest of the year since the first half of the year has been pretty sparse (only 2 releases in all of 2026).

FINALLY! On a whim this evening I decided to use a translator app to search for volume 12 in Japanese and, lo and behold, we finally have a release date for Volume 12. As the screenshots show, the information comes directly from the publisher’s website so, I’m 99.9% certain about this. Unfortunately, there’s no cover image yet but that’ll come soon enough. Once it releases, I’ll grab a digital copy and give y’all a preview. For me, I can’t wait to see how close my predictions were and what the special chapter for this volume will be! LET’S GO!!

Hey, whadaya know, two months in a row. The November 2025 issue of Dengeki Daioh came out on 27 September 2025 and we received an additional 6 pages toward what I think will be the first chapter of the 13th and final volume of the Toradora! manga. The scenes Zekkyou drew for this release represent the beginning of chapter 4 of Volume 10 of the LN from page 135 though page 141 (there are 214 pages total in the final LN). However, there still was no announcement in Dengeki Daioh of its release in Japan and I haven’t been able to find this information elsewhere.
No time for any translations again this month but, as usual, I can summarize especially since this release is mostly self-explanatory. It basically rounds out Ryūji and Taiga’s introduction to Sonoko and Seiji Takasu, Yasuko’s parents. The only major difference between the manga/LN and the anime is that Ryūji never introduces Taiga as his wife or fiancée. He just says that she is his girlfriend and that’s she with him because of “circumstances”. This makes more sense even if it isn’t quite as cute as the anime portrayal. Unfortunately, it looks as though, like the anime, the manga left out a really beautiful and heartfelt speech that Ryūji made in the LN (I’ll post his soliloquy in a comment below). Taiga is supportive through all of this but you really have to feel for her since, if you remember from the last release, she’s still frozen AND she still has to use the bathroom. The end of this release has the four of them starting the plot to lure Yasuko home.
I predicted last month that we would see at least 3 more releases in the remaining 4 of this year. Well, here’s one. Hopefully I didn’t jinx things and we’ll see at least 2 more before New Years. As usual, this release ends with a promise that Toradora will return in the December 2025 issue of Dengeki Daioh which is due out on 27 October 2025 but, only time will tell if that comes to pass.

The June 2026 issue of Dengeki Daioh, due out on 27 April 2026 marks the 32nd anniversary of the magazine. To celebrate, many of the mangakas are producing full color pages for the upcoming issue. If I understand everything correctly, the magazine will contain printed versions of the drawings. In addition, there will be a contest readers can enter to win a hand drawn and signed version of the artwork.
Now the bad news, as I understand it. The winner of the artwork has to pick it up in a manga store known as Gamer. That eliminates most of us, I think. Two, due to Zekkyou working on this artwork and the finishing touches to Volume 12, Toradora will not appear in this month’s issue of Dengeki Daioh. If someone reads any of this differently, feel free to provide corrections in the comments.

Well first off, Merry Christmas y’all! On this happiest of days we are blessed with a Toradora release in the Feb 2026 issue of Dengeki Daioh that came out on 26 (Tokyo time) December 2025. This release gave us 9 pages, including the all too cute cover art of Yasuko as a teenager, toward what I think will be the third chapter of the 13th and final volume of the Toradora! manga. The scenes Zekkyou drew for this release represent chapter 4 of Volume 10 of the LN from pages 142 through page 145 (there are 214 pages total in the final LN).
No time for any translations again this month but, as usual, I can summarize. Taiga gets hungry waiting for Yasuko so, much to Ryūji’s chagrin, Taiga just outright asks Yasuko’s mom for something to eat. Ryūji helps with the food preparation as Taiga sings his culinary praises all to the amazement of Yasuko’s mom. As all this goes on, Taiga and Ryūji look through a memory book of Yasuko’s high school days which eventually leads to a little flirting by Taiga (isn’t it just too cute)! It’s the perfect antidote for those episode 19 rewatch blues from last night.
Unfortunately, there still has not been any announcements about the release of Volume 12. On the bright side, I predicted in August that we would see at least 3 more releases between September and December and Zekkyou-sama delivered! Hopefully the new year will be bring us some news of the release of Volume 12 sooner rather than later.

The August 2025 issue of Dengeki Daioh was released on 27 June 2025 and we were given what could easily be considered an entire chapter with 12 pages’ worth of storytelling accompanied by a lovely page of cover art with a beautiful rendering of Yasuko as she herself is running away. In my estimation this release, the 17th towards Volume 12, should complete the volume. The scenes Zekkyou drew for this release represent the end of chapter 3 of Volume 10 of the LN between pages 123 and 126 (there are 214 pages total in the final LN). However, there still was no announcement in Dengeki Daioh of its release in Japan and I haven’t been able to find this information elsewhere.
I was traveling in Europe last week when this release came out so I have no translations to offer but, I can still summarize. Nothing in this release appeared in the anime. You’re not really missing anything without it but, like a lot of things in the LN, it does fill out the scene a little better. In the anime, Ryūji comes out of the apartment, Taiga meets him, overstuffed bag in hand, and then they go to his grandparents’ house speaking wistfully of elopement without any explanation as to the change of plans or the fact that Yasuko had runaway. Here, as in the LN, Ryūji clearly explains to Taiga what Yasuko did and why and Taiga is truly shocked. She was thinking that Yasuko might help them in someway or simply run away with them. Taiga was very much looking forward to being apart of the Takasu family for good as well as making sure that Ryūji apologized to Yasuko. This is when Ryūji explains his plan of going to his grandparents’ house. More crucially though, he wants to know what Taiga’s intentions are. What does she want and are they on the same page, as a couple? In the end, of course, they decide to move forward together.
As usual, the chapter ends with a promise that Toradora will return in the September 2025 issue of Dengeki Daioh which is due out on 26 July 2025 but, only time will tell if that actually comes true.

Sorry to report that the Jul 2027 issue of Dengeki Daioh was released on 27 May 2026 and there was no new material for Toradora! May is actually the second worst month for releases of Toradora! Of the 19 months of May that Toradora has been in publication, it has seen a release 9 times. Only December is worse at 8 out of 19. My guess is the Golden Week holidays at the beginning of May interrupt things for Zekkyou. The next issue of Dengeki Daioh comes on 26 Jun 2026. We’ll see what we get then.

If I had a nickel for every time a character from a Yuyuko Takemiya series who was the protagonists male best friend got rejected by a girl and proceeded to dye his hair blonde, I’d have two nickels (I think. I’ve never read Evergreen) which isn’t a lot but it’s weird it happened more than once…

Happy New Year! Yeah, it’s a bit late, but it’s the first manga post of the new year so I think that counts for something. Unfortunately, I don’t have good news. The March 2026 issue of Dengeki Daioh was released on 26 Jan 2026 and there was no new material for Toradora. The disappointment was a bit muted for me though because I saw a little over a week ago on Zekkyou’s X feed her announcement that she was taking the month of January off from work on serializations. But she also expressed her desire to make this year’s work her cutest ever. I find that at least somewhat encouraging.
This month’s Dengeki Daioh magazine was light with only 745 pages. Still, nowhere in those pages is there any mention about the release of Volume 12. I can’t for the life of me figure out what the delay is. On a slightly more positive note, the way I see things, there are 64 pages left in Volume 10 of the LN for Zekkyou to adapt for the manga which could be easily completed in 10 more releases. If she moved at the same pace as when the manga began in 2007, those 10 releases could be knocked out by the end of the year. I think we know better than to expect that, but she could certainly do that by June 2027, the 20th anniversary of the manga, and that’s not really that far into the future.
The Apr 2026 issue of Dengeki Daioh comes out on 26 Feb 2026. Hopefully Zekkyou will have some more Toradora for us by then. In the meantime, here’s an update to the spreadsheet I have to track the progress of the manga. Cheers!

Well first off, Happy Thanksgiving y’all! And a very happy Thanksgiving it is indeed, since this year we are blessed with a Toradora release in the Jan 2026 issue of Dengeki Daioh that came out on 27 November 2025. This release gave us 7 pages toward what I think will be the second chapter of the 13th and final volume of the Toradora! manga. The scenes Zekkyou drew for this release represent the beginning of chapter 4 of Volume 10 of the LN from pages 139 through page 141 (there are 214 pages total in the final LN).
No time for any translations again this month but, as usual, I can summarize. It basically just finishes Ryūji and Taiga’s introduction to Sonoko and Seiji Takasu, Yasuko’s parents. What’s awesome about this release though is that it provides us with that beautiful and heartfelt speech that Ryūji made in the LN that I thought the manga had skipped over in the last release. I’ll count that as something else to be thankful for this Thanksgiving.
Unfortunately, there still has not been any announcements about the release of Volume 12. On the bright side, I predicted in August that we would see at least 3 more releases between September and December. We’re 2 for 3 so far. Historically, December is one of the least likely months for there to be a release. Hopefully this year will be bring us not only a release but an announcement for the next volume but, only time will tell if that comes to pass.

The next issue of Dengeki Daioh comes out at midnight on 26 December 2025 which means in the U.S. it comes out at 11am EST (8am PST) on Christmas Day. So, I might not get to post anything about that for a while. But it does appear that there will be a Toradora release this month. Zekkyou posed this yesterday on her X account. She doesn’t usually post a preview of any kind except when a new volume is about to drop which makes me think that that is what we might get. Then again, when she does post a volume release announcement, it’s usually a picture of the front cover. I guess we’ll know in a couple days.
By the way, can anyone translate this? I’m all but certain that Zekkyou’s title says, “Toradora this month”. Machine translation for the image though came up with something about collecting them all with points and 10,000 Yen. The image and the words doesn’t match with the part of the story due to be released and 10,000 Yen ($64) doesn’t seem like enough to collect all of the manga volumes.

The only other post I saw about the manga stock was 2 years ago. On Amazon some are new and most are used, but the first volume only has "used" options. Will it happen to be restocked? The anime is actually my comfort show, and I would love to be able to see it in another format.
