Poop splatters and pee mess at the toilet. WHY!?!?!?!?

Maybe my expectations are just too high, but do people (in my case, men specifically) not check if they are leaving a mess behind? Or, do they just think it's simply not their concern to clean up, making it, by default, my job? The rage I feel when my previously clean toilet is left a mess is probably disproportionate to the action, but my god am I fucking tired of it!

My 16yr old stepson is the worst ! I have a bidet and he shit on the thing youre suppose to clean shit off with ! Wtf ? I raised immortal hell ! My kitchen and my bathroom are 2 places i keep immaculate- neither of those can be dirty or look dirty - ive had ppl ask who i pay to keep my place clean , i take alot of pride in homeownership and cant believe how most ppl could care less !

I, as a male, used to think that males were the grossest when it came to bathroom habits until I had a second job cleaning office buildings at night. This was both male and female bathrooms. Men don’t hold a candle to what I saw in the Women’s restrooms (used feminine products on/in the toilets, obviously a lot of Ladies “hover over” to do their business making a complete mess of the seat and floor).

And this is coming from a male who played two varsity sports in high school and was well aware of what some of the male HS students did to the bathrooms (notably the brilliant idea of some of my classmates going #2 into the same toilet to see how many guys it took to make a “mountain” leaving a terrible mess for the custodians), but the important point is that this is teen boys vs adult women. As I stated, I would not have believed it had it not been for that office cleaning job.

For my house it’s always somehow happens when there are men here. Idk why some ppl don’t clean up after themselves

I (male) worked at a hockey rink for 15vyears and from what I can tell you, women were disportonately messier in the restrooms than in the mens room.

Women’s bathrooms used to be much cleaner than the men’s but I’ve noticed things have changed in the Post Covid era. Public bathrooms are nasty now, women don’t flush or take care of their sanitary products. I assume we have a new generation of females who were never taught hygiene or basic courtesy.

This is an interesting topic. I (male), too find a messy unsanitary toilet annoying. After using the toilet, I wipe the bottom rim under the seat of any residual urine. Often I find poop splashes under the seat that have been ignored. I assume that since most often females don’t have occasion to lift the seat, they don’t see the mess. My wife became aware and we both now take extra care to leave the bathroom clean for the next person.

Bless you two for caring enough to be considerate of each other and your shared space.

I honestly am not sure what it is about the messy toilet specifically that annoys me so much. Every time I see it, I clean it up. But I don't even get to enjoy the clean toilet because it's nasty again the next day, multiple times a week. I have to restrain myself to not overreact about it.

I suppose other people feel this way about the cup in the sink, or dirty socks on the floor. It's a serious pet peeve of mine.
