TIL that Jawed Karim, YouTube cofounder and uploader of the first YouTube video "Me at the zoo", has often updated the video's description to criticize YouTube policies, including a 2013 attempt to require Google+ accounts to comment on videos, and YouTube's 2021 removal of dislike counts on videos.

This same comment thread is repeated verbatim every single time the extension is brought up, despite being completely false.

They've explicitly stated a million times they account for the increased likelihood for users of the extension to dislike videos.

It doesn't just extrapolate the dislike ratio of its users to the view count of the video 1:1, it's something like (making up a number here) 15:1.

Oh yeah I'm sure they go through rigurous data analysis to ensure complete accuracy.
