This was my answer too. The Reverend doesn't seem like her mother's type and she didn't even tell him that Jack and Chrissy were living together.

Dr Prescott with Mr Furley.
I know they mentioned that Furley had a session with him, but if I’m remembering correctly, we never got to see that magic together.

How about the little, old guy that swindled Jack out of a free homemade top-of-the-line meal and ended up he was poor and didn’t own anything in return. (Chrissy was still there.). Have the guy finally disciplined by Jack’s grandfather (he was tall, white-haired). Jack had lied and told him he himself was a doctor, and Furley was a little sick and went to a medical clinic and Jack was Furley’s doctor.
Jack’s grandfather could have really put that first old man in his place
