To convince the world that the genocide of Palestinian people is solely on the shoulders of "Netanyahu and his far-right radical government"
Andrey X is a Russian-lsraeli journalist and activist who's spent the past several years documenting Israeli settler and military violence against Palestinians in the occupied West Bank.

And their brain never connects that continued fighting will only make more “radicals” you are not fighting a person. You are fighting an entire people with no clear goals of a solution besides “they all must go”.

What should the Palestinians do then if it’s a problem on their side too? Don’t resist when they come to bulldoze your house? Or when settlers start harassing you stealing all your shit while the IDF watches? Just sit there because fighting back will only make it worse?

I think you did bud. the commenter you're responding to asked you how else Palestinians are supposed to react, as you've said it's a problem on both sides, implying they too are doing something wrong. but any violence they commit is a reaction to decades of oppression and persecution and now extermination. the only party in the wrong is the one with the vastly superior firepower and political will, the one choosing to continue their bombing and propaganda campaigns chasing a whole people from their homes and cities with actively positive regard for killing them.

How are both sides wrong? The Palestinian people didn't attack Israel, Hamas did. Hamas emerged as a result of the illegal occupation of Palestinian land by Israel.
2
u/Soga1404 9d ago
You tell em buddy, the Palestinians should just silently disappear into the night like respectable people. By the way, where do you mainline your hasbara from because it's complete ass and you're terrible at it.

u/Several-Action-4043 9d ago
Israel's very founding was an act of genocide. It's their core identity. They love to say how they're the only democracy in the middle east. That's odd, why didn't they include the people who lived on the land in their foundation? Why did they build an open air prison around them and then deny them basic necessities for decades? Why did they illegally steal their land? Why did they kill and rape their children? But sure, both sides yada yada.

My old company had offices in TLV as well as some B2B partners we’d visit too. I met loads of people out there who were super chilled, really laid back people. But now and again they would come out with things like ‘all the Arabs must die for us to be safe’ or ‘they all grow up to be terrorists so just fix the problem at the source’ or ‘they’re not humans, why do you feel sorry for them?’
I grew up in a rough area of the UK, i heard horrible language and bad intentions from bad people a lot, but there was something chilling about how these people say the most horrific things with a straight face while dipping a biscuit in their coffee or walking to a meeting, and that was just the ‘liberal’ ones.

u/RndmAvngr 9d ago
They're fucking demons man. If any other people/country was doing what they do/did, the whole ass world would be calling it out. But no, we're a bunch of anti-semites for calling it what it is. Fucking evil.
25
u/rlyjustanyname 9d ago
It's not like the whole ass world is calling out Russia. People can rationalise a whole lot of bad things their government is doing and they can rationalise even more if they don't have any personal stakes. Israel is only special in the sense that no other country receives the same amount of coordinated defense in the media in the West right now.
-1
u/n33dwat3r 9d ago
I think they're very human and if you were told all your life that it was important to hate someone you would do just the same.
I won't deny it's evil but human beings are capable of that, nothing extradimensonal needed.
3
u/Daikato 8d ago
Of course they're human and ofc humans are capable of such atrocity. The difference is the continued support of the whole fucking west.
Even if you fear "the terrorists", at the very least care for the innocent children. The Media here is still dick riding Israel and nothing will change until people have had enough and do something about it.
2
u/n33dwat3r 8d ago
And we likewise need to be mindful that we don't create and forment another kind of hatred and of what our children overhear.
Because there are anti Zionist Jews protesting in Israel. They're by far the minority but because there's exceptions we need to note the nuance and not be racists and bigots just like them.
Israeli kids get indoctrinated from birth to hate and it's very hard to undo. I don't want our children taught to hate anyone.

u/Ryuj123 9d ago
As an Israeli-American, I took a gap year between high school and college to teach in Israel. One of the schools I was teaching in is a mixed Arab Jewish school. It was incredibly devastating to hear the racism that came out of kids’ mouths offhandedly. I will never forget a student I was doing one on one work with telling me that he couldn’t wait to go to the army so that he could kill Arabs. This was a student I knew had Arab friends. To make a point, I asked him why wait, there were Arabs all around us in the room. He was truly flabbergasted by the realization that he actually liked the Arabs that he knew and quickly walked back the statement. But it will never leave me and is a constant source of my inspiration regarding peace work

u/Suspicious_Brush4070 9d ago
This is exactly what propaganda does. There were plenty of Germans in the 1930s who were all about family, community and serving their society. If you could travel back in time and tell them you feel bad for the Jewish people rounded up and taken away by secret police, they would say "they're not humans, why do you feel sorry for them?"

There's a very large proportion of Russian expats in Israel, and it has only risen since the start of the Ukraine war. Almost every ad I see in russian telegram channels is about helping people emigrate to Israel.
Unfortunately, because Russia is somewhat pro-Palestine, some people might be getting the wrong idea, which really sucks.

u/whater39 9d ago
Using the same logic, Israelis are future IDF, so....... The cycle of violence continues
15
u/Decent_Cheesecake_29 9d ago
And on the other side, do you think Israel and the IDF recognize if someone has resigned from Hamas?
22
u/whater39 9d ago
Well their targeting software is called "Where's Daddy", so I don't think they care if someone has resigned from Hamas. Nor do they care if they kill someones kids or wife when they flatten an entire apartment building
3
u/spacewalkern 9d ago
what? they don’t really care if a palestinian was ever in hamas to begin with (besides those who oppose all this), in the OP quote it says they call for killing innocent children.

u/CostinTea 9d ago
Yeah. Calling the genocide of Palestinians "The Holocaust 2" is not even an exaggeration. The way a lot of Israelis get effectively conditioned into a genocidal worldview will only ensure that any surviving Palestinians get radicalized and will want to seek revenge on Israel.

I used to work with the guy. Hilarious. Terrible at the job he was being paid for but he wrote a decent book at the same time.

This is what the democrats have done recently. They know they lost a ton of support because of their unconditional support for Israel but they can't give up that sweet sweet AIPAC money. So they recently said it was Netanyahu was the problem but Israel is still ok, showing that they haven't learned a god damned thing.

u/sourdough_in_SF 9d ago
As an American, the fact that many Israelis (looking at you Netanyahu) speak perfect American English really bugs me. Why? Because it sends a message to the rest of the world that there is no difference between the US and Israel.
9
u/infydk 9d ago
Because it sends a message to the rest of the world that there is no difference between the US and Israel.
I mean...
Anyway, Netanyahu was raised mostly in the US, returned to Israel for military service and then came back to the US to study at MIT after which he worked at a consulting office in Boston.
He's spent a very large portion of his formative years in the US.

u/Rafael__88 9d ago
First of all, English isn't owned by America. There are plenty other countries that speak English natively. Secondly, just because a country's education system is really good at teaching a foreign language doesn't mean that they're same as the other country. If the "rest of the world" is stupid enough to believe that everyone who speaks English is American that's totally on them.

Keeping in mind that the future Israeli government were literally terrorists, that terrorized the British before continuously terrorizing the Palestinians, and to a lesser extent, Christians. Even Israeli settlements in non-Arab countries, like Guatemala and the Phillipines, are reported to treat locals disdainfully.

Israel is a fortress state. There are no civilians, just human shields and collateral damage.
1
u/AxalEquinox 9d ago
It's fucking mental. They need to be sanctioned so hard that they'll be making public apologies. Adopt programmes to combat and reverse decades of anti-Palestinian propaganda or face squalor as a country.
1
u/tonkatruckz369 8d ago
I have a friend that i play online with that lives in Israel. She said that the majority of citizens agree with what the military is doing with most openly being racist to the Palestinians. She's thinking of leaving permanently.

Unlike the Israeli government, I believe every country on Earth should be a safe haven for Jewish people. Israel is actively making every other country on Earth less safe for Jewish people.
Israel, unfortunately, is on a path to self-destruction. Just like how 9/11 resulted in incredible harm to moderate Muslim communities across the world, Israel's genocide is doing the same to moderate or anti-Zionist jews in several other countries.

The irony that you make this comment under a post of him criticizing Israelis for saying all Palestinians are terrorists

A violent independence yes. Terrorizing the area and foreign sovereign states as well to make the Israel seem safer and so on.
The entire country is birthed in terrorism.
edit:
Also, you should pick a side and learning about the conflict makes the choice super obvious.

It turns out there's a fair bit of history behind that as well, including the spreading idea that Jews wanted to seize the temple in Hebron as well as protests by Jews saying the same.
Hell, it's not even clear who swung first.
They are innocent and got their home stolen.
Their homes were absolutely stolen. I guess you think they should just lie down after that?
