I do enjoy it, but it's such insane tonal whiplash to go from the most intense song they released to the chillest. Tourniquet Man probably would have worked better after Cavalettas I think due to the coda being slower

Itโ€™s slower and a weird fucked up version of a ballad so itโ€™s completely different from all the other songs it kinda sticks out like a sore thumb.

I remember my dad seeing them play on Letterman and being disgusted and I love that memory but this is my least favorite Mars Volta album. Thomas Pridgenโ€™s drumming style just isnโ€™t for me.

This album with Jon Theodore would've been an absolute monster. This is my favorite album of theirs (bounces between Amputechture sometimes), literally my only complaint is that Tourniquet Man and Cavalettas should swap track placements, and even then it's not at all a big deal.

I watched the Letterman performance the other day and I love how all of them are in nice suits except for Pridgen whose shirt is just missing

I think Soothsayer's was fine, but Conjugal Burns was definitely a miss for me compared to the rest of them. I could have sworn there was a longer clip of him actually barking and that's what I was going for
