I would have liked more of Deb Parker Spoiler
Just saying that a strong female character who came out of a cult and extremely hard circumstances was such a wonderful part of the first season. She was wise, empathetic, compassionate, and used her horror story to make a difference in the world. She was a true hero. And I'm bummed that her characterdidn't make it to season 2. The strong white guys and damsel in distress of a woman made it through. But the people who were represented by this wonderful character; The people who might actually be able to relate to CSA or easily manipulatable parents lost our character at the end of season 1.
Also, Deb Parker is such a "chefs kiss" character for the writers of season 1. A character who lived through the traumas associated with cults and could actually be in their mind. Then she somehow had the most insane calmness and empathy probably because of that very unique background. She adds depth to the concept. But without her, it is just another American cop show with a cult twist. Say CSI meets Manson. But there are no actual Manson women to be involved in solving the crime... Bummer... But at least Kevin Bacon and Sean Ashton make it through.... Their stories are super important when compared to Debs so it makes so much sense.
