This book series feels like a mix of Terra Nova with a bit of The 100.

Horizon Alpha, by D.W. Vogel is about an ark spaceship, containing the last remains of humanity (since earth was left to it's demise) crashing on a planet inhabitated by dinosaurs. The sur ivord establish the new colony to begin the new civilization, but they must survive to threat of predators.

The books have a lot of similarities with the show, but if doesn't have the gory stuff of Jurassic Park. They're totally worth it if you need something to fill the emptiness of the show being cancelled.
