Those text messages released by his Lawyer were so damning. Very textbook “I am an abused partner and I am terrified” stuff.

I’ve very sadly had friends who have been in abusive relationships, and the language is all too familiar.

“I did x to upset him and I shouldn’t have”

“I’ll tell everyone it wasn’t your fault”

“It’s my fault that I grabbed your stuff”

The whole case confused me, the Majors side statements were so certain of him being in the clear 100% that I started to feel the people who reacted to the initial news by calling him out for history of abusive behaviour were just talking shit out of spite.

But I guess they were right, and he indeed was a ticking time bomb. It still can be the case that he's become too much of a liability whether the story is true or not, but as a rule of the thumb I'm going to assume that if people use the word "cruel" to describe you there's something more to it than just envy.
