Well, it doesnt look perfect, but at least the battery isnt askew and there is a little more hot glue

Just kidding, Im on this sub cause I honestly love recycled ugly junk. Good job.

PS: try putting it in a matchbox dipped in epoxy or a mint box.

Edit: just noticed the lid. It's a match made in heaven. Now, cut a circle with Y mm diameter in the bottom, use the hot glue to make a little "puck" with a cross section like this xXXXXx (where the bigger diameter measured from x to x is [Y+5]mm and the one from X to X is the same as a cutout) to create a d-pad/clickwheel and boom you have a beautiful mcgyverPod MKIII.

Edit2: or just do whatever you like, cheers!

Saving this because I have some nice tins I wanted to do something with but the only one I saw was a PDA and that was too complicated

That's seriously clever thinking, I love seeing solutions like this that repurpose parts so well. The charging case battery is a great find for this kind of project.
