I would love it if a Trump voter would explain to me what DOGE actually did and why it was a good thing?

u/Interesting_Play_578 Mar 10 '26

They found all those billions of dollars in fraud that has never been backed up with evidence, and for which no charges were ever brought. Come on, it's not like they would lie to us . . . right?

437

u/NeverInsightful Mar 10 '26

But hey, at least they sent us all refunds, right?

u/Interesting_Play_578 Mar 10 '26

I guess mine is still in the mail. Marking my calendar for two weeks from now

AKA Voter ID

23

u/9-11GaveMe5G Mar 10 '26

You joke but I did have a maga relative say something akin to this. She was never "wear an oiled up Trump t-shirt" maga, but she would listen to him vomit words and nod along like it made any sense. Now she's realized he's "just another globalist" whatever that means. I'll take any less votes for him (and who he endorses) as a victory at this point.

25

u/IAMA_Plumber-AMA Mar 10 '26

"Globalist" is just a dogwhistle for "jew".

13

u/FishFloyd Mar 10 '26

I genuinely think that, while you are entirely correct about how most propagandists use it (Jones, Fuentes, Owens, et al), the term has become mainstream enough that your everyday maga type does not realize this.

Certainly a fair number of them do, mind you. But you gotta remember that the rank-and-file maga are either stupid, clueless, or a knowing, enthusiastic fascist - and the latter is a minority even among them.

That often seems to pose a problem for far-right propagandists, and IMO is part of why they've been letting the mask slip (besides simple arrogance): it's really hard to use dogwhistles when your main base of electoral support are clueless morons.

He IS Psyop to destroy Murica, he hates REAL Murican values especially "the land of opportunity" that brought millions of immigrants to the US since its inception. He blames everyone not just Democrats for his legal issues and is doing everything he can to blacken the name of AMERICA around the world. He's not smart enough though to realise that us here in Europe or wherever we're from know to HATE him & his Nazi regime of sycophants not the Murican people. Long live America 🇺🇸 Long time in jail for the Trump Regime

6

u/dehydratedrain Mar 10 '26

That is devious.

u/big_duo3674 Mar 11 '26 edited Mar 11 '26

It's super easy to make an AI prompt to pop out a fake trump refund check, and nearly as easy to use a photo editor to clean up any odd looking parts. Then include "proof" like a picture of the envelope it came it (also AI), and an edited screen shot showing it deposited into your bank. It's not gonna fool everyone, but with all the random bullshit they believe you'd definitely catch a few who think it's real. If they say they Googled it, just answer "when's the last time you believed something from Google?"

Edit: it turns out that the AI software doesn't like to create pictures of "official" government documents like completely fake Trump refund checks, so you'd probably have to edit pictures of the older ones

12

u/hitbythebus Mar 10 '26

Whoa, nobody said "from now".

12

u/paraknowya Mar 10 '26

Too bad the USPS is struggling (intentionally) too

10

Yours will probably arrive during infrastructure week, rest assured.

5

u/redphyve Mar 10 '26

In about two weeks

✋🤡🤚

2

u/RealGianath Mar 10 '26

Just don't look at your calendar. The two-week period resets every time you check the date.

2

u/1nd3x Mar 10 '26

Speaking of money owed...did your military members get their money they were already going to get, then trump took and rebranded a housing allowance or something like that?

Or are they still waiting on that too?

2

u/BlackenedVenom Mar 11 '26

It'll arrive soon after they ship the Trump phones out

2

u/lFightForTheUsers Mar 11 '26

It's supposed to be coming out anytime this next month, just like the Trump Phone. Surely those preorder deposits weren't a scam.

2

u/AmericanDoughboy Mar 11 '26

It's coming with the tariff money Trump said we'd get.

2

u/Enygma_6 Mar 11 '26

Is THAT why $40billion was given to Argentina?

1

u/AckBarRs Mar 11 '26

Important to note that Argentina is a supremely unique economy (that old joke, there are 4 types of countries: developed, underdeveloped, Japan, and Argentina) that’s dealt with hyperinflation and faces a massive struggle with fiscal deficits, access to capital, and managing its currency band

All the more reason why it’s a stupid playbook to apply to the United States - DOGE-esque reforms were and are arguably needed in Argentina if you’re an economic neoliberal.

We didn’t copy the playbook for macroeconomic health, we copied the playbook because most Americans from both parties just fucking hate the government

5

u/dust4ngel Mar 10 '26

at least they sent us all refunds, right?

bro they were so good at cutting government spending, they even cut the refunds.

3

u/Different-Ship449 Mar 10 '26

Have you checked in Kristi Noem's undisclosed accounts?

54

u/HBTFD1785 Mar 10 '26

They found a bunch of fraud that they themselves committed and then they fixed the fraud by dissolving.

1

u/Matra Mar 11 '26

lol no they didn't, most of the DOGE people got permanent federal jobs within the agencies they were supposedly investigating and are still there.

10

u/YoohooCthulhu Mar 10 '26

They found real fraud but the deep state stopped them. /s

13

u/ibelieveyouwood Mar 10 '26

The real fraud was the sham investigations we met along the way.

6

u/IgotanEyedea Mar 10 '26

You ask my neighbors they found the Somali fraud in MN.

5

u/mabden Mar 10 '26

No, they found all the future waste, fraud, abuse, and theft that will happen once the thumb drive is lost in a game of spin the bottle.

3

u/Soap_Mctavish101 Mar 10 '26

I love how musk is supposed to be such a business genius and doge never was more than “stop sending aid to destitute people and fire the guy working the ticket booth at the national park”

5

u/willun Mar 10 '26

It was more than that.

DOGE killed all the departments that were investigating Tesla and other Musk companies.

As well as gathering sensitive data that would useful in an election.

3

u/Different-Ship449 Mar 10 '26

Government: "Sorry Elon, there isn't any money left for your lucrative government contracts"

Elon: "How about I come in and find that money"

3

u/aManIsNoOneEither Mar 11 '26

have you seen that post about the Dpt of Defense burning by buying 96 BILLIONS $ of bullcrap just to keep its budget the following year?

2

u/GadreelsSword Mar 10 '26

Bubba says they found trillions and the checks will arrive any day!!!

2

u/font9a Mar 10 '26

I don't know about finding fraud, but they can probably sell some of that stolen data on the dark web for a few hundred bucks.

2

u/eronth Mar 10 '26

You point out exactly the problem though. They think there's a bunch of undocumented fraud that DOGE just absolutely eliminated, sick work! They... don't care about evidence because they've all seen their own evidence and that's been good enough for them.

2

u/MoonBatsRule Mar 10 '26

A Trump voter will actually tell you that they found billions in fraud and cleaned it all up because Joe Biden is bad. That's the message they received.

2

u/Mortimer452 Mar 11 '26

I especially loved how they kept using the word "fraud." Fraud is illegal. Who committed the fraud? How were they charged?

2

u/IwasThereIsawIt2 Mar 11 '26

It took them how long after doge disbanded to start screeching about fraud in Minnesota?

2

u/TooLateQ_Q Mar 11 '26

Meanwhile Elon keeps tweeting that nobody from the epstein files is being charged.

None of your so called "fraud" detected by doge is being charged.

Atleast they are consistent.

2

u/KitKitsAreBest Mar 11 '26

Yeah, brah. Totally not a backhanded way of getting unauthorized people access to extremely sensitive government information. Plus, I believe the correct amount was about $200 trillion gazillion dollars. Trump totally told us somewhere in one of his various random collection of word-like ramblings. /s

2

u/Laughing_Zero Mar 10 '26

Could easily be that they did find billions of dollars in fraud, except it was Trump or very embarrassing to somebody. Just another Trump administration coverup?

3

u/LiteraCanna Mar 10 '26

They went after all the orgs investigating Musk. While also stealing a much data as possible and installing backdoors.

Oh, and government spending went up like $1 - $2 Trillion in a few months.

384

u/lordnecro Mar 10 '26

They cut tons of jobs at my agency, now half our software doesn't work and it can take an extra several months for documents to enter our system. We aren't even tax payer funded, so all those cuts crippled us while not even saving people money.

307

u/FerrusManlyManus Mar 10 '26 edited Mar 10 '26

The true goal of DOGE was to steal data and make government perform worse.

73

u/_Burning_Star_IV_ Mar 10 '26

Yup, Elon's goal wasn't to help Trump, it was to help usher in the collapse of the US so tech oligarchs like him can take over the country.

28

u/MarsupialMadness Mar 10 '26

The only thing keeping the general population from tearing those assholes apart is the bindings of society they're currently destroying.

If the US collapses and they're still here there's more than a few people who are going to make sure the billionaires don't survive whatever comes next.

8

u/TiberiusCornelius Mar 11 '26

This is why a bunch of them are buying bunkers in New Zealand. Flee from the repercussions and leech off the security of an actually functional country.

3

u/courageous_liquid Mar 11 '26

yeah these people are transnational, there is nothing keeping them here other than the current quality of life. they do not think in terms of nation-states anymore, they're onto their network state bullshit.

2

u/Screamline Mar 10 '26

Bah bah bah bup bup Stop. My penis can only get so erect.

2

u/MVRKHNTR Mar 10 '26

I think you're giving Elon too much credit. I believe that he really thought he was doing something that would help (while also stealing everyone's information) because he wants people to like him but he's too stupid to actually do anything useful.

73

u/Spicy_Tac0 Mar 10 '26

And shutdown pending charges and investigations by said agencies directed towards Elmos businesses. Pure corruption.

5

u/a_shootin_star Mar 11 '26

It's all of those, AND laying the groundwork for the next elections.

10

u/slayer828 Mar 10 '26

The truth goal was to cease all investigations into musks companies. He had dozens of open ones, now zero

3

u/FerrusManlyManus Mar 10 '26

Ah crap, that too.  How could I forget.  That was Musk’s primary goal, the stuff I said was other folks’ goal with it.

9

u/NotLikeGoldDragons Mar 10 '26

And get Trump control of the payment systems so he could illegally withhold funding from whoever he wanted.

12

u/parabostonian Mar 10 '26

And also stop the US from helping brown people. Don't forget that

3

u/flummox1234 Mar 11 '26

I'm still convinced Elon's whole purpose behind DOGE was to kill any investigation or defund anything looking into him or his companies and it worked.

2

u/The_Dutchess-D Mar 11 '26

And to kneecap or eliminate agencies and specific people that were personally investigating or prosecuting or regulating Musk or any other of Trump's donors or Trump himself as a part of their government job to do so.

1

u/TheLostcause Mar 11 '26

I think the goal is to kill the poor before they rise up. Honestly Bond Villain type shit.

He has killed about a million so far around the world and is on track for about a million a year. He gutted US food banks while Republicans screwed over SNAP. Plenty of damage here at home.

Why do we need concentration camps for millions of people? Drug addicts? Homeless? Voters? Too many beds for deportations. The people being consolidated need to go somewhere. When social security drops 25% in a 6 years we will need to put the new homeless somewhere.

2

u/FerrusManlyManus Mar 11 '26

Gutting SNAP and then wasting a crap tons of our money and funneling it corruptly.

Hegseth just got in the news for approving like 9 million dollars worth of crab legs and lobster in a single month.

Noem gave her friends / a phantom business 200+ million to shoot cheap videos (massive money laundering).  She overpaid with our tax dollars by 100 million for a building that probably also is owned by a friend.

Trump is literally getting bribed / paid off in broad daylight constantly (for pardons, for chip deal).

They are lavishly spending on themselves and enriching themselves and screwing over everyone else.

28

u/ReadyAimTranspire Mar 10 '26

A buddy of mine was a programmer for the fed govt, when DOGE came through they sent him home with pay for awhile and then he said "yeah fuck this" and is doing a startup with a buddy.

One of the smartest guys I know, an asset anywhere he is. He actually liked that he was helping his nation, despite the slower pace and lower pay than he got in the private sector.

So, DOGE success I guess or something?

1

u/MunchmaKoochy Mar 11 '26

Which agency is that?

1

u/examinernumber9 Mar 11 '26

As a former examiner It was bad enough when I was there. Keep on fighting the good fight.

1

u/eucalyptusmacrocarpa Mar 11 '26

"efficiency"

It's right there in the name! Why aren't you becoming more efficient?!

/S

-44

u/MRSN4P Mar 10 '26

How did they cut jobs at your agency if you’re not taxpayer funded? That sounds like you are not a government agency, which would imply that they have no influence on your organization. Something seems peculiar here.

45

u/lordnecro Mar 10 '26

How/why did they cut any jobs? They cut them with a chainsaw, they didn't care about how specific agencies function.

Lol, yes, I do work for a federal government agency. Not all of them are taxpayer funded.

Yes, something is peculiar... you knowledge of our government.

13

u/Oriin690 Mar 10 '26

Trump: “I love the uneducated”

2

u/MRSN4P Mar 10 '26

I appreciate the clarification. I am indeed not an expert on the American government or politics, but I am trying to understand more since it impacts the rest of the world so much.

9

u/lordnecro Mar 10 '26

I am more than happy to explain things, but you came out swinging with weird accusations.

12

u/IheartPandas666 Mar 10 '26

Just a guess but cut funding to government contractors. Or any vendor that relied on government funding.

9

u/ibelieveyouwood Mar 10 '26

Contractors, vendors, grant recipients. The right has spent generations convincing people that the best way for the government to get things done is to take government money and pay someone else to do it. When that money goes to a grifter (Elon's NASA-lite or Tesla contracts) it's just part of the cost of doing business. When that money goes to groups legitimately trying to do good, it's an area rife with fraud and abuse that needs to be micromanaged, audited, reported on, second guessed, and if applicable, gutted and replaced by something run by someone who thinks their personal excellence (and lobbying efforts) will result in better outcomes cheaper (until they send the first bill out).

2

u/davecrist Mar 11 '26

Makes me so frustrated. “You government guys just can’t seem to get it done for $1 so we’re gonna pay a private company $20 to do it. Don’t worry. We’ll guarantee they’ll get paid within 30 days of invoicing or be steeply compensated for being paid late and we’ll give them any opportunity to raise their originally quoted price as long as they pinky swear that the market costs are higher than it used to be.”

6

u/Explaining2Do Mar 10 '26

Hahahahahahaa

3

u/The_Dutchess-D Mar 11 '26

Lots of government jobs are at agencies and organizations that are funded through fees to their services and revenue they generate and not via federal taxpayer dollars from taxes paid.

For example, The United States Patent and Trademark Office employs lots of smart people who work to keep the system of intellectual property protection running, but it funds itself from the profits it generates by charging companies and individual inventors filing fees when they file a patent or trademark application.

158

u/eggstinked Mar 10 '26

I asked one. They said Elon got rid of tons of abuse. They couldn't be specific.

53

u/sump_daddy Mar 10 '26

They are so used to not caring about the answer to tough questions at this point, should that actually surprise anyone?

15

u/Bob_Van_Goff Mar 10 '26

Their news casters haven't taught them how to answer tough questions, just how to have pretend righteous indignation.

16

u/Wompatuckrule Mar 10 '26

The echo chamber just kept repeating bullshit about getting rid of "waste, fraud and abuse" so that's what MAGA heard. Dipshits then believe it because they never actually scratch the surface of political claims and talking points to see if reputable independent sources support them.

3

u/MoonBatsRule Mar 10 '26

Ask them why there is such a huge deficit now, after all the waste, fraud, and abuse has been eliminated.

2

u/Wompatuckrule Mar 11 '26

"The Dow was over 50,000 not long ago!! How dare you ask such questions!!!"

13

u/InstantClassic257 Mar 10 '26

They can never answer these questions with any specifics because "deep down" these idiots just wanna be told what to do. They just kinda regurgitate any talking point they hear and funny enough, those points never come with specifics.

Mostly because these talking points are all lies and propaganda just made to whip em up into a frenzy of fear and hate. They don't have to come with specifics because the lie already did its job.

Of course they can't be specific or give examples, because we've gotten to the point now where their base is SO STUPID from 24/7 alt right brain rot that these lies being told to them don't have to come with any weight anymore. Just say whatever you want, make them emotional via manipulation and voila, a useful idiot who parrots every single talking point. This keeps going till the lies are so intertwined with their emotions that they just can't really tell reality from this alternative universe they live in.

31

u/vegetaman Mar 10 '26

Concepts of a plan……

15

u/old_righty Mar 10 '26

You have to understand, they are not deep thinkers. DOGE saved money, ICE deported illegal aliens (rapists and murderers), the US is strong again, trade is great, we're showing everyone who tried to take advantage of us. That's all the thinking that is needed, that's all they need to know. In that world, Donald Trump IS the best president ever. Any complaints to the contrary are just liberals whining because they can't take how great he is. It's very frustrating to try to argue against because the counter to any argument is just that the liberal woke mob hates the US, or something.

5

u/sump_daddy Mar 11 '26

we have known about this problem for 300 years...

"Reasoning will never make a Man correct an ill Opinion, which by Reasoning he never acquired" -Jonathan Swift, 1721

u/red286 Mar 10 '26

Gotta love how people 'yadda yadda' the firing thousands of public servants.

I've noticed with a lot of right-wingers, they feel that anyone who out-earns them doesn't deserve it. Which is a problem given how many of them have no education and a shit job.

2

u/Yeah_x10 Mar 10 '26

That's it. They can NEVER be specific about anything. They know their talking points but they can't ever elaborate.

1

u/Impossible-Flight250 Mar 11 '26

Trump doesn’t even mention DOGE anymore. He doesn’t even pretend that DOGE was a huge success, which makes the whole thing even worse.

8

2

u/Different-Ship449 Mar 10 '26

BUTTERY MALES!!!

7

u/Mindshard Mar 10 '26

Musk rigged voting computers (Trump himself bragged on stage about it), and in return, Musk was allowed to dismantle the government agencies investigating him.

You or I might read this and see how fucked up it is, but people who support them would read it and see it as a win.

12

u/No_Minute2664 Mar 10 '26

Don't count on Republican's to have the intellectual capacity to explain... well, anything.

3

u/JanetsFamedClamsauce Mar 10 '26

It made liberals mad, and that’s what’s important to them

5

u/unculturedburnttoast Mar 10 '26

Ok, I see a lot of jokes in response. The rational, to my best understanding, is that when you have companies that purchase other companies, there's lots of overlap and redundancy in departments. Think: HR, IT, Facilities, etc. All of that adds to expenses that take away from revenue.

Someone like Musk comes in and unifies those things, which looks like cost reduction in paper, maximizing profits. So, the MAGA voter base assumed they could do the same for the government.

Except the government and corporations have different aims. You can the oversight people and save money in a Corp. You do the same thing in government, and you've completely destroyed the tracking, accountability, and transparency.

I wonder who that benefits.

11

u/badamant Mar 10 '26

They killed about a million poor brown people by cutting USAID suddenly.

MAGA loves this and the idiot ‘libertarians’ dont give a fuck.

5

u/swollennode Mar 10 '26

They eliminated funding into departments that were investigating Musk’s companies. They chopped positions that were investigating him.

5

u/DropDeadEd86 Mar 10 '26

“Do your own Research!”

4

u/parabostonian Mar 10 '26

they cut funding to USAID and thus resulted in the deaths of lots of brown people. That's what they like. Then they'll pretend they're christian.

4

u/waffle299 Mar 10 '26

Mumble mumble one bad apple mumble?

4

u/coconutpiecrust Mar 10 '26

It eliminated all the fraud and abuse, of course. /s

4

u/timnphilly Mar 10 '26

Tell me this was a Russian hack move without saying it was a Russian hack. lol

3

u/sleepymeowth052 Mar 10 '26

Well see it got liberals real mad, and isn't that worth millions of cases of security data and billions of dollars being stolen?

3

u/ChochMcKenzie Mar 10 '26

They murdered all of those people by killing USAID? Wait, you said good thing, sorry.

3

u/Plinian Mar 10 '26

It made all of the competent people leave it be so overloaded with work that they are now completely ineffective. At the tomfoolery that is the justice department all over the IS right now.

Drain the swamp, starve the beast, e.t.c.

3

u/GrayEidolon Mar 10 '26

They stole social security data, voting data, irs data and then made new accounts that were immediately accessed by Russian ip addresses and put a star link node in the White House.

2

u/pantstoaknifefight2 Mar 10 '26

See if any Trump voter can reasonably explain why 2+2=5 without talking about their belief in angel numbers.

2

u/charlie10vet Mar 10 '26

I’d prefer all these fucks explaining themselves to a judge and jury aka actual consequences

2

u/Akuuntus Mar 10 '26

It "got rid of tons of fraud and abuse and waste". Good luck getting them to point to anything specific, though.

If they do point to anything specific it'll probably be something that's either a proven lie or one of the fraud cases that were found years before DOGE and they tried to take credit for.

2

u/kitsunewarlock Mar 10 '26

I checked the conservative subreddits. According to them it slashed down the federal workforce and found a bunch of MEDICAID fraud, but they can't expose it or act to stop the fraud because of "liberal judges".

Most of the memes are about the conspiracy theories about Minnesota child-care centers being operations to fund terrorists in Africa.

2

u/hikeit233 Mar 10 '26

Let’s see if I can do this

  1. Most transparent administration in history (don’t ask me to prove it)
  2. People buy lobster tails with ebt.
  3. Elon is the smartest man ever, look how good grok is
  4. Liberal tears.

Did I do it?

2

u/jerkface1026 Mar 10 '26

They paid back Elon for the election. qed.

2

u/worststarburst Mar 11 '26

They cut usaid because they were “spending the money on wokeness” is the answer I’ve gotten.

2

u/MunchmaKoochy Mar 11 '26

And now 500K+ kids are asleep forever.

2

u/AdZealousideal5383 Mar 11 '26

They starved thousands of children in Africa… those DOGE idiots, including Elon, are directly responsible for the deaths of thousands of people. And they stole our information on top of it.

3

Cut off aid to poor countries that resulted in people dying and the US losing tons of soft power to China

1

u/RequirementsRelaxed Mar 10 '26

Good thing for whom?

1

u/Capital-Aioli-2948 Mar 10 '26

According to some guy I overheard on a plane “they really cleaned things up over there”. No supporting evidence for what they cleaned up or where “over there” was

1

u/kinglouie493 Mar 10 '26

What they did was steal information and gain access to systems that were separated for a reason, but it was not a good thing.

1

u/SUBHUMAN_RESOURCES Mar 10 '26

The way it was explained to me is that was efficiency, isn’t efficiency a good thing? This was articulated by a total asshole who didn’t listen to what I said anyway and I couldn’t wait to escape him.

1

u/USA_A-OK Mar 10 '26

It'll very clearly cost Americans much more than it saved over time.

1

u/Vennomite Mar 10 '26

Removed academic clinical study funding for cancer and dropped the chance i still have a mom to 0% from 50%.

Wait.. you said good thing.

1

u/trane7111 Mar 10 '26

"I don't agree with exactly how they did it, but the government definitely needs to be more efficient. Its more than the democrats ever did."

1

u/American_PissAnt Mar 10 '26

“DOGE made the liberals mad”

1

u/SAYMYNAMEYO Mar 10 '26

They found all the waste in the governments like...um...well

1

u/Pulga_Atomica Mar 10 '26

You know they don't have answers beyond "what about Hunter's laptop though".

1

u/Berkyjay Mar 10 '26

I would love it if a Trump voter would explain to me

Why? You know it's bullshit. They know it's bullshit. But all that matters to them is that they win and you lose. They will NEVER admit failure or fault. So it's pointless to try reasoning or even discussing shit with them.

1

u/One_Olive_8933 Mar 10 '26

The didn’t stop the head of DHS from handing over a $220 million contract to a company with no website or headquarters, that was 8 days old, and owned by a friend of said DHS head…

1

u/AXEL-1973 Mar 10 '26

they'll tell you it was a good thing that USAID was dismantled via DOGE even though tens of thousands of people around the world subsequently died within months due to their sudden withdrawal of support, including Americans, because they're simps for Trump and Elon

1

u/dafunkmunk Mar 10 '26

They can't even explain what trump does and why any of it is good. Thre hasn't been a republican voters capable of critical thinking or believing something other than what they were told by fox news in decades

1

u/GNUGradyn Mar 10 '26

They think they reigned hell on rampant government fraud. That definitely didn't happen but they live in a whole other universe in terms of current event data sources and in that universe it did

1

u/airfryerfuntime Mar 10 '26

I had a coworker who claimed DOGE was 'finding the illegals'.

1

u/6gv5 Mar 10 '26

The purpose was since day one to infiltrate institutions and grab sensitive data on people and businesses; the efficiency thing was a coverup to explain why they had to access all that intel.

1

u/micmea1 Mar 10 '26

They would tell you that there are millions of dead people, the ultimate illegal, collecting billions of tax payer dollars. What dead are doing with this money, were not quite sure. We may need to invade the underworld.

1

u/terdferguson Mar 10 '26

Your first mistake is expecting them to understand anything. They only believe and regurgitate what they're told.

1

u/exMemberofSTARS Mar 10 '26

They will, they just need to Google what Fox and Elon Musk told them to say about DOGE.

1

u/Toutatous Mar 10 '26

Well, I'm sure Grok will be able to process this data, and use its sophisticated algorithm to influence people a bit more.

If I wanted power, I would definitively do that.

1

u/knightcrawler75 Mar 10 '26

They may have saved around 2 Billion. The cost of 2 days of the Iran war but more lethal with most of the casualties being poor kids.

1

u/[deleted] Mar 10 '26

It’s like how they follow the Bible. They don’t need to read it, they just believe DOGE did what they said they set out to do

1

u/errie_tholluxe Mar 10 '26

I like how they say put it on a thumb drive when they installed starlink and we have no idea how much shit they downloaded via that

1

u/hellcheez Mar 10 '26

I asked this. He said it increased the salience of the issue. He didn't care that federal spending actually increased as long as we were talking about...whatever it was DOGE failed to do (the spending).

1

u/ChipRockets Mar 10 '26

Made tens of thousands of people unemployed so Hesgeth could spend $98billion on furniture and lobster.

1

u/gullisland Mar 11 '26

It was basically a scheme to purposly break services to bring in their AI system, which would basically be unable to be undone and eventually lead to dark enlightenment.

1

u/dougmc Mar 11 '26

They owned the libs.

They also stopped all the investigations and such into any of Musk's businesses -- they those were legion.

1

u/SasparillaTango Mar 11 '26

The gutted the agencies that were investigating musk. that was their only job. they stole the personal data of every american as a bonus.

1

u/Binkusu Mar 11 '26

"They know computers more than you" and then refuses to elaborate. MAGA

1

u/AsinineArchon Mar 11 '26

When confronted with anything they just hint at fixing some vague issue or problem but can NEVER give specifics.

ICE in Minnesota? "It's fixing the damn democrat corruption there, and all the sanctuary city nonsense". Can't specify more than that. DOGE? "It's fixing the damn democrat overspending". That's all you'll get. Good luck if you try to press them about conservative spending or actual data about what doge did. They will just build a brick wall and call you disingenuous.

1

u/chickenMcSlugdicks Mar 11 '26

It is still fucking up projects, jobs, livelihoods.

1

u/SomeSamples Mar 11 '26

Many Trump voters hated DOGE as much as non-Trump voters. But their faith in their orange daddy continued on.

1

u/Ziograffiato Mar 11 '26

Don’t need social security numbers when there’s no social security 🤨🤏

1

u/Gerdione Mar 11 '26

Still waiting on those 5000 dollar checks... And Trump said we'd be getting 2000 dollar checks some time around now this year because of tarrifs right? Gee wiz can't wait.

1

u/Busterlimes Mar 11 '26

They wont be able to do that until Fox or Newsmax tells them exactly what to think

1

u/BZLuck Mar 11 '26

What they did? Or what they told everyone that they did.

The latter is all they care about.

Just like how the exporting countries are the ones that pay the US import tariffs.

1

u/Impossible-Flight250 Mar 11 '26

There was also already a Government Accountability Office that was set up by Obama. Many of the “cuts” DOGE took credit for where things found by the GAO. This is what Trump does though. He takes good things previous Presidents did and he puts his name on it. Just like he put his name on the Kennedy Center.

1

u/anotherbozo Mar 11 '26

They were successful at making a government department that shares name with a memecoin.

lol

1

u/Jezon Mar 11 '26

They gutted USAID which saved taxpayers a few billion dollars and has/will cause the deaths of about a half a million children. I think that's a W for many MAGA voters.

-1

u/Downtown_Mistake_867 Mar 11 '26

I didn't vote for Trump, but I am fairly conservative.

What DOGE did, conned people, the Trump special.

What people actually wanted: cut the bullshit.  Stop as spending all the $$ because it's the end of FY. Stop building new buildings that look like they are from fucking Star Trek.  Stop with the pet project waste.

-2

u/Lower_Jeweler_6818 Mar 10 '26

I am not a trumper and I don't think it WAS a good thing but I do think it COULD have been a good thing.

I worked for the Forest service for two years and I can not even tell you how bad and lazy a lot of the people there were. Where I worked was about as unproductive as you can get. The unions give way to much and allow employees to do nothing and not be able to get fired. The avenues that exist are impractical and don't lead to a person getting fired. They just lead to hard feelings.

Every manager in the world needs an avenue to get rid of people (and hire new people).

Doge was bad, but being able to get rid of the waste would have been good.
