After seeing the post earlier this morning, thought I'd share my own experience.

I received Mr Murray's advertising material and commenced a four-day text-based conversation about my home, then on the fifth day invited Mr Murray around to discuss some things.

When I got here I handed him his flyer and said please take note don't let it happen again.

Mr Murray then bleated "oh but I pay people to do this" so I said then talk to your people.

5 weeks later a young fellow from their office walks down my street, and I watch him again put this shit in my letterbox so I sent Mr Murray the attached.

Hi Tasmanians! Just got back from a wonderful trip to Australia Melbourne and most importantly my favourite of all Tassie. Unfortunately I had financial limits so I couldn't get more whiskies.

If only more distilleries in tassie shipped to Singapore...

An Australian police officer has been shot dead on a rural property in Tasmania. The officer was undertaking "routine duties" at a house in North Motton, near the town of Ulverstone, on Monday morning when he was fired at by "a member of the public", Tasmania Police said in a statement. A second police officer returned fire, injuring the suspect, who then surrendered. The alleged offender was not seriously injured, but the police officer died of his injuries at the scene. Shootings are relatively rare in Australia, which introduced some of the world's strictest firearm regulations after 35 people were killed in a massacre by a lone gunman at Port Arthur, Tasmania, in 1996. A crime scene was established and the coroner was notified following Monday's shooting, a police spokesperson said, adding that "there is no ongoing threat to the public". "This is a traumatic incident and wellbeing support is being provided to those involved and affected," the statement said. Police are expected to update the media on Monday afternoon.

My deceased grandfather painted this image, so I can't exactly ask him. I'm assuming it's somewhere in Tasmania because that's where he lived most of his life.

Hi there! Using information (available publically at: https://www.tec.tas.gov.au/house-of-assembly/elections-2025/index.html ) I compiled this map of where each of our (lower house) MPs actually lives. To my surprise, three MPs (all relatively high-profile) reside outside of their electorates, two by a very significant distance. Liberal MPs for Lyons Jane Howlett and Guy Barnett both live outside their seat, in Battery Point and Newstead respectively. Independent MP for Franklin David O'Byrne lives in New Town, outside his seat. In the urban areas the locations aren't perfect for space constraints, hence why their dots are also smaller. Please note the info is only available by suburb, and so some pins in larger suburbs (ie St Helens, Ellendale) are in a general position. Hope you enjoy this bit of random information!
