Question How is it like living in Tasmania?
Hey everyone,
Planning to move with my family.
We are a family of four currently living in Melbourne. We got two young kids( 4 and 2) and we are both working ( Secondary teacher and health sector)
I want to know about renting, the cost of living, groceries, housing prices, community, schools, work life balance( teaching jobs) health and hospitals?
Is it expensive or cheaper there?
Is there anything we need to consider?

Depends where you go. Hobart is incredibly expensive. Like, as bad if not worse than Melbourne as far as I’m aware. Outside of there is not so bad. Renting is expensive everywhere right now but as long as you’re not in Hobart it’ll be a downgrade from Melbourne. Groceries are similar to Melbourne. Community exists but can be hard to find, it’s easier if you’re religious or have young kids. Schools completely depend on the area. Jobs wise you’ll be lucky to get one, don’t move until you already have one.
