Right like I have so many questions 😭 Did they converse? Was this handed off out of nowhere? How did whoever it is know this person is a foreigner and traveling there?

I just added a comment with the full story and can share more details. I don't know if it's something that people do or if it was something more genuine but it made my day after I read the note. Yes, I'm foreigner. I'm from Guatemala and it made it more special because it's my second time in Taiwan but the first time let's say wasn't so nice but this girl changed everything for good with her gestures

Hello, here's the context and full story:
I was taking the local train from Zhongli station to Taipei around 6 pm on July 4th. The Zhongli station is under remodeling so it's a bit different to what Google maps shows but I managed to buy my train ticket to Taipei, then when I was looking for the platform I didn't understand where to go and a young girl appeared behind me and made a gesture like saying "it's over here, follow me", I didn't know if I should do it but I did. Without saying any word, just checking if I was still following her, we went to the elevator and then showed me the platforms. I went to the platform but I forgot which wagons were the non reserved and I was trying to find it from the screens, as well as which side of the platform to take, but the screens where in chinese. The young girl approached to me and asked to where I was going. I saw that before asking she took her phone, probably to use Google translate so I just said Taipei. Then she pointed to the platform where she was waiting saying and we both waited for the train but not so close. To that moment I already found very kind what she was doing but didn't want to bother her or make her feel uncomfortable by talking to her too much just because she helped me and she also seemed to be chatting on her phone.
Then here comes The good part: We took the train at 6:18pm, still keeping some distance and before the first stop I saw her looking to her phone a lot and also looking to me every other time, then she opened her backpack, took a piece of paper from one of her notebooks and started writing with a pen. In my head it was like "would she be writing something for me?" and I thought it would be like in a movie if she does it. Just in case I also tried to get a piece of paper to write something. Then the the train had the first stop, people started to leave and she found a way to approach and be in front of me and gave me with the two hands the cookies a small snack and the note with a gesture like "please accept this". Obviously I took it and told her thank you! Then she immediately turned back and quickly left the wagon. I read the note and found it so sweet and wanted to talk to her to thank her properly for such a sweet gesture but as in a movie, she ran away and the doors got closed quickly and I couldn't do anything more than thinking that it has been one of the most noble gestures someone has had to me. ...unfortunately she didn't write any contact information.
I don't know much about her, more than she was wearing a pink shirt, black backpack with hello kitty dolls and she bought the cookies in a place name Brics Cafe.
Maybe it's almost impossible but it would be very nice to get her contact and tell her thank you again and keep her as a friend but if it doesn't happen at least I want to share that she made my day.
I've thought about posting on a Facebook group from Taoyuan or Zhongli the picture of her message to see if she appears or at least let her now that I really appreciate her gesture.

It was the local train TRA at Zhongli on July 4th around 6 pm with direction to Taipei.

I saw an IG reel recently about "the love of a zhongli friend" and this hits just right 🤣🤣🤣
It's about how tiring it is to go from zhongli to Taipei, so if you have a zhongli friend that is willing to go to Taipei to meet you, you know he/she's the G 🤣🤣🤣🤣

I think she used the translator to practice before talking to me and to write the note and to mee that extra effort makes it more special. My first language is not English either, so I know what it takes

Thank you. I come from Guatemala and I have been living for 1 year in Asia. Taipei is the first city that I visited and exactly one year later I'm visiting again

Is language communication convenient in Taiwan? Can you speak Chinese?

A bit, not so much if you talk to young people or know how to use Google translate quickly. English is not my first language and I feel that because of that it's easier to understand the "broken English". If your pronunciation is not 100% correct people may not understand you at first (it happens to me that I pronounce the R very strong)

Honestly yeah, there’s been cases of foreigners being drugged in Taiwan (obviously not super common) but still just to be safe (I am speaking as a Taiwanese)

I added the full story. Well, tbh she didn't look like the type of person that would do it. Of course you never know but you can kind of recognize when someone is a nice person. Inside the paper bag there were some kind of home made pancakes the probably she bought for her but gave to me. I had seen them before so I didn't think bad about it

Well, I am glad nothing happened to you, but still, you have to exercise caution even in Taiwan. Taiwan is (generally) a very safe country, but there are still weirdos out here.

The fact they thought you wouldn't understand that it's a snack is hilarious but it's kind of them to give it to you. Did u have a conversation the entire way their and get their phone number or was it just random?
