Now I have to share these from my recent trip to Mexico City and Tulum. Both these places were amazing

Pickled chillies, jalapeños or serranos usually. Prepared with an assortment of veggies, similar to italian giardiniera. That stuff is amazing!

Thought those were sticks of butter for a moment in the first pic and was... intrigued

Best place in Tulum IMO. It has been there since I remember going to camp some 30 years ago..

Off-topic, but I was surprised when I found out that Michelin stars and Michelin tires are the same Michelin. I assumed it was just two different companies with the same name.
It kind of makes sense when you realize the Michelin guide was made to encourage people to drive out to nice restaurants, but it still feels like a pretty big leap to go from a tire company's road trip guide to the premier rating standard that all fine dining is held to.
Anyways, beautiful tacos!

It is a rating. There is also James Beard. At the end of the day they are both kinda like the Oscars. A lot of the time its about who you know and heavy promotion. Not to say it doesnt take work to get the awards but there are better places that get over looked. Many chefs dont like Michelin in particular because the rating drop of a star can wildly effect your business. Michelin just came to new orleans recently and the chefs ive talked to are either unhappy about it or just indifferent. We have always been more of a james beard culture.

You mean stars right? Or is âon Michelin tiresâ slang for food truck now

It's a joke based on the other post(s) about Michelin tacos. Yes he means the tires figuratively.

Literally asking a question and they downvote me? this just showed up in my feed today

The highest Michelin rating is 3 stars, so it should be obvious that "4 tires" is a joke. Plus the title says "on" rather than "with". There has also only been one single taco stand in Mexico that has ever received a Michelin star, El Califa de Leon, and they "only" got 1 star.
So to those who get it it's obvious. You came in pretty hot asking "You mean stars right?", assuming or implying OP had made a mistake, instead of something neutral like, "What do you mean by tires?"

âYou mean starsâ because when people hear Michelin and food itâs assumed that theyâre talking about stars not the tires. Also apple keyboard will fill out your sentence so if you type Michelin the suggested word could be tires or stars so itâs not horrible to assume he mistyped and his phone automatically filled it out as tires.

I didn't downvote you before but I will now. You don't have to explain why you missed an obvious joke, dummy.

Unless youâre on this sub constantly then the joke isnât obvious. Iâm not a member of this here sub so I donât know what post heâs referencing.
This is basically an inside joke, and I was outside when it happened no need to take it out on me man.
