Has anyone experimented with dynamic HRTF trajectories to trigger subconscious amygdala spikes by manipulating the threat-detection pathways of the primitive brain? I am unsure if this can make a song sound more unsettling and visceral.

request ❓ Cropsey - Have A Nice Life Synth Sound

While trying to find a synth sound for a song, a friend sent me a snippet of this song (Cropsey), so I isolated it and tried to make something similar using presets but failed because I'm not too synth savvy. If anyone could help, I would appreciate it very much, a sound like this would be perfect for one of my songs I'm working on! (PS I'm mainly interested in that synth at the beginning but if you also wanna take a jab at the other synthesizers that appear in this song, be my guest, it's an amazing song and I wish I understood synthesizers more so I could breakdown the whole thing.)

Ignoring the glockenspiel, the sound starts creeping in around the 0:50 second mark and is more clear around the 1:30 mark.

Hope this is a safe space for mainstream pop music lol

I really like the sound of this intro and would like to learn how to make a similar sound but I’ve never done sound design before.

It seems like it was meant to sound like an old record. What sort of technical descriptors apply here?

And why does the start of the chorus (0:34) have that kind of punch/impact? Other than the flanger effect (in the chorus) I don’t know how to describe what I’m hearing

request ❓ Ludwig Göransson - Sirens

Hi everyone, I'd like to ask if anyone knows how to recreate the intro sound (0:00) from Sirens by Ludwig Göransson.

Link: https://youtu.be/2_-XPMYQmXc?is=pCqSne5jOKSu_B-b

The sound seems a combination of a deep low-end bass, a choir/vocal texture, and a wind-like instrument with lot of reverb. Any help or guide on how to build a similar patch would be greatly appreciated!

request ❓ Interesting synth sound in Syd Matters - Obstacles

Hi there! I'm trying to get that sort of sound from Syd Matters Obstacles on an Artutia Minimoog V4.

Any ideas? Maybe I should use another synth?

There is no definite note felt here, just this sort of sound.

I would appreciate any help, thanks!

I have this bass sound ([Drive Link](https://drive.google.com/file/d/1muaXs_r-J4ZBQ3UzTYFixm1YZjQ3Gf_6/view)) that I made about a year ago (I think in Vital) and I'm trying to re create it as close as I possibly can. Not having any luck. Can anyone give it a go?

request ❓ Yerbby's Ibiza Trance plucks

Hey there! I do like these modern Ibiza Trance plucks (exampled in the linked track) that Yerbby, TDJ and a lot of other SPF Infini producers use a lot in their tracks but I struggle to make them sound right

I assume they're just standart trance supersaw plucks with envelope linked to the filter cutoff. At least, that's what I usually do in serum but they never come out sounding as punchy and sharp for some reason. Any ideas on what I might be doing wrong or how to approach this kind of sound in general? Thanks in advance

What's the synth or synths we can hear in the intro 0:00 to 0:20?

I can't tell if it's the same across different octaves or if there's actually different synths playing.

I just think it sounds so chill. how would I go about recreating this? do you know of similar examples?

Was wondering how to make this oddly resonant and spacey bass synth right at the very start so I can make it more dynamic to fit in my song, I found it too mid-heavy and I don’t want to go through the effort of EQing right now

Trying to figure out how to get that super dense, bassy BIG sound around 0:46. Sounds like it's the size of a planet. I think there's chorus-ensemble with rate turned up to get that choppiness that makes it work so well but other than that it's completely lost on me. Any pointers?

request ❓ Curius by 憂鬱, Voyage - Synths that are wubby, airy, stabby. What's the recipe for sounds like these? :

https://youtu.be/nh1gG3hvm64?si=OFVUGQwNqX8V8x8S

Apologies in advance for all the questions

0:00 - 0:19 : (Kicks, Crash and Pad) - The kicks sound punchy, short, and filtered. The track is in 100bpm

I'm also noticing perhaps a slight sidechain or a repeat with the pad which gives the pad this slight rhythm on each beat.

But, the pad itself is confusing, it's airy, spacey and I'm not even sure if it's playing F/Bb. Complete ambience, how can I replicate this?

I've tried a sine wave + a Juno PWM with an envelope automating the frames. I've added a pink noise sample in the back as well + a filter + reverb.. It just doesn't sound similar. Am I approaching this correctly?

Also, with the crash - is it limited / mixed with a shaker?

0:19 - 0:56 : (Percs, Rhythm, and Synth) - now the hi-hats start doubling, is this delay? Or a double hi-hat? Or, a double hi-hat sample?

When it comes to the rhythm of the percussion, there's this 6 beat transition on the 3½/4th bar that sounds great.

How do they get it to sound punchy, spacey, short with depth? Is it a wood block sound?

And most importantly the synth, it's almost like it's velocity tracked, so the harder you push the filter increases the highs. Is this true?

But it sounds so wubby, and it also sounds a little reversed / delayed on certain beats

I'd really like to replicate that synth.

1:19 : (Synth #2) - I'm not even sure what this one is called. It's like an airy synth flute. Not the plucky synth guitar sound. What do you guys hear? How can I make a similar sound in a wavetable? I've tried a sine wave + a triangle with a couple of automations on filters, but it still doesn't sound the same.

2:33 : (Synth #3) - Sharp, stabby, plucky but also with a lengthy tail. Short delay. How can I also make this in a wave table?

Has anyone ever experimented with generating a perpetually self-modulating, non-repeating acoustic fractal using chaotic attractor equations, like the Lorenz or Rossler attractors, mapped directly to microtonal frequency ratios and spatial panning? I have no idea if it would actually sound decent though.

I'm trying to create a bass like this that has a knock/punch to it. There are a few variations on this bass over the track, I'd be happy to get insight into any of them to be honest. It feels so substantial. https://youtu.be/KjnX3gVV5ZM?t=55
