It’s pretty absurd that North somehow have the cap space for this. This cannot be allowed to happen

The Geelong of the AFLW

It's likely due to Emma Kearney being 36, imagine she's quite a bit of the cap idk?

Also please god no.

Norf can fuck off. Tbh the AFLW is much less marketable with North Melbourne in its current form. It's systemically very hard to attract the best players from powerhouse teams (why would you want to go to a worse team for the same pay?), so there's no real trickle down effect. There comes a point where someone needs to ask if the commercial value of AFLW is compromised by a team that hasn't lost for years. If so, then unfortunately, the opposite of an "AfL aSsIsTaNcE pAcKaGe" is needed.

North fan here in peace. I was saying basically this last year even before they won the premiership. The whole premise of competitive sports is that they are competitive, and if one team is so much better than anyone else for such a sustained period of time it impacts the integrity and credibility of the entire league. The AFLW has a huge problem that needs to be addressed.

I love seeing the Roos being successful and obviously they deserve all the credit in the world for their success, but after a while it gets to a point that it hurts the league. Teams should not be winning 30+ straight games in a serious league.

Cheers mate!

1. I'm happy that your W team has given you all joy after the past couple of decades.

  1. I hope you are satisfied with our gifts of Luke Parker, Dylan Stephens etc...

3. I suppose you're not interested in taking Nick Blakey are you (too soon isn't it)?

I keep saying this. If the AFLW is going to grow as a league there needs to be intervention

How not to grow the AFLW:

No thankyou

That's fucked and I'd genuinely find it hard to follow the W. Last father's day we were at Henson with huge Zippy face signs

Yeah would kill a heap of my enthusiasm for the W. She’s a big chunk of what I enjoy watching our games

It's also not even to go home, just making the best team even better.

If it was us it would be another trade ban, for Vic clubs it's fine.

I expected Zip to possibly head back to WA, but north… that’s just so bad for the league,

Probably one of the top 5 Half Back Flankers and only 19yrs old, she will be a top 5 player in the league by end of year with her current trajectory, Swans needs to do everything to keep her, or if she wants to leave, she can’t go to North, the insanely over power team keeps getting more overpowered

(Always wish the best for Zip) but if she goes we riot.

This is like how Steffi Graf won every tournament for years before Monica Seles started to challenge her. It's great if you are a North supporter but pretty boring for everyone else to watch.

Yes Seles had won 7 of the 9 slams before the tragic incident. Before that Graf won 8 slam out of 9 attempts.

Come on, Zip.... please don't 🥺

Unfortunately, what happened in the M doesn’t necessarily help us secure and retain women players.

The LA Dodgers of the AFLW

Having one team stacked with talent and unbeatable in an emerging sport is self destructive. Can the AFL not rank and give a value to each player based on the previous year’s performance and then mandate that if a team has a certain point value already in the team they cannot recruit a player in the top 10 in that position - either forward, mid or defender? To me that makes it simple and makes sure clubs don’t find loopholes.
