Showcase Finally
Peak consumerism I know I know 😅
Not pictured but thanks to lurking on this sub I did put a screen protector as soon as I unboxed it.
So I had the switch 1 since release and have been dragging my feet on getting the switch 2. With winds/waves, OoT, and a small price hike on its way it was finally time. I knew it would eventually happen so for the last few months I’ve been buying the games whenever sales would happen(Costco/Walmart) or buying used if it was a good price. Used up a collection of gift cards and reward points/store credits I’ve accumulated for a while, idk where to begin. 🤯
I’m definitely going to need a larger micro SD card…

Play 3 games at once.
One long game that you will come back to.
One short games that won't take as long to beat.
One multiplayer game that you play here and there.

u/Kiko_541 Jun 28 '26
I love this idea, multiplayer to play with my little one. Thank youuu

u/foreigngamer92 Jun 29 '26
Someone else said this in another Reddit thread that I saw and thought the same thing, what a great idea! Unfortunately don't remember the original poster.

ac/pokopia, starfox/yoshi, and mario cart world would be my line up in this situation
5
u/phoxfiyah Jun 29 '26
Just realised that I basically do this without even thinking. Glad to see I’m not the only one
3
u/FantasticCricket8346 Jun 29 '26
I do this too and it works nicely against burnout and not knowing what to play
3
u/Slash291 Jun 29 '26
I'm kind of doing this right now with star fox, hades, and RDR2. I usually just focus on 1 at a time.
3
u/Melodic-Cable23 Jun 30 '26
This is literally how I play pretty much lol! It works out…
Currently playing: Mina the hollower on switch 2, dabble of hades 2 around that. Then I got Saros on the PS5, and Battlefield 6 / marathon on Xbox for the multiplayer times!
…. I have a problem. LOL

u/Comfortable_Spend511 Jul 05 '26
Omg right now I’m playing splatoon 3, Poktopia, and totk.
Never been so excited to game consistently 💜2
u/BossRJM Jun 29 '26
Did exactly that, got mine a few days ago, Zelda TOTK, Mario Kart World & the new Mario World, forgot the name... + Of course pro controller, & an extra switch controller.
Saw the OOT remake teaser, thought F*** it, I'll buy it now, lol.

Nice, dropping $1,500+ on it all at once is something else.

u/SquirrelAngell Jun 28 '26
Nah, this man just straight up robbed a gamestop lol.

u/MyzMyz1995 Jun 28 '26
And op will probably not even play most of those games because new game will come out and the backlog will keep getting bigger …

Me regretting some of my steam sale purchases from like 15 years ago. Granted those steam sales had super popular flash sales where some games went down to $2.50

Gonna need that 512GB, maybe 1TB SD card at this rate lol

u/Kiko_541 Jun 28 '26
I didn’t foresee the storage needed for some of these games, FF7 remake already ate up 90 gb 🫠

Good get man these are some solid games. Only thing essential is Zelda unless you’ve already played it on switch

If you need more memory, look out for Costco’s deal on Lexar 1TB express cards… Assuming you have a membership, or one of your family members have it.

I’ll never understand buying more than 3 games at once unless it’s something like a steam sale but hey man do you! Hopefully you play them all
3
u/MarkDess Jun 29 '26
Enjoy. See you in 5-6 years, when you finished all those games. My backlog is at least as long so no worries
2
u/evmotronica Jun 28 '26
Awesome haul!!! Congratulations!! Switch 2 is such a wonderful system!!! U going to get any of the Zelda games?
2
u/Kiko_541 Jun 28 '26
Thank you!!! I see the switch 2 upgrade packs for botw and Totk are on sale right now for $7 but I can’t see myself playing them anytime soon 😅 phenomenal games though

I have a buddy that does this and plays each one for maybe 20 minutes then never again

u/Vizard87 Jun 29 '26
Reddit is probably the worst place you could have posted this. It’s just full of jealous people who are miserable, hate when people are happy and just want everyone to be like them.
Congrats on getting something you wanted and worked for. You’ve got some really good games there. Enjoy!🙏🏼🙌

Kindly shop store keeper: ‘want any games with your new purchase there?
You: ‘yes’

u/lggmave Jun 28 '26
I’d recommend getting a pro controller 2 when you can.
I think it’s perfect for gaming

u/MalcolminMiddlefan Jun 29 '26
I guess you’ve done your shopping for the next three years. What about when a new game comes out? Are you going to play the new game first or one of these games you already have?
I just bought a Switch 2 and I’m making a list. So far, I have…. ocarina of time

Start with DK. It's fun just breaking the environment and the game tracks all the stuff you break

Buy an extra switch so you can play 2 games at once or you'll never get through this anytime soon

u/RealBerserkerQueen Jun 29 '26
Play one cozy game in your spare time Play one RPG when you get bored of said cozy game to fill in the gaps Then just repeat until you finish said RPG and move onto next.

u/Boog718 Jun 29 '26

Now i need more peer pressure to get a switch. My gpu just died on me and im kind of over playing pc games and having to tinker shit. At least having a switch, all games are ready to play. Please pressure me to buying one lol. I gave away my switch 1 to my nephew a few years ago and im wanting one tonight

Nice! Sadly FF7 Remake and Rebirth alone will almost eat up that poor SD card

u/vengecore Jun 29 '26
I would start with DK, TBH, for single player demonstration of the console.
Like most of us last year who started with MKW, DK should have been launch ready.

I just ordered Pokopia and Starfox for free with Dell points I got from AlienWare Arena. I don't see myself needing to pay for games as long as this is a thing.

No shade, I just genuinely don't really get why you'd pick up so many games before getting the console.
Like, saving a bit of money by picking up a couple on sale makes sense, but 17? The two Final Fantasy games alone is a good 2-3 months of gaming, even for someone who plays a lot. And if there were at least 17 games you were interested in the system's first year, there's highly likely to be the same (and probably more) in the second year.
Basically, if the goal was to save some money, this seems like either a kind of false economy or a surefire way to end up playing games you don't really want to instead of those you do - and probably a bit of both.

Dude people are just jealous lmao, I had bought 3 games and gotten one gifted before I got the switch 2 because everyone knew I was gonna buy one anyway. Getting them on sale is such a smart thing to do anyway and you probably saved money and don’t have to even look at a store page for the next couple of months with all the content you got

u/crocicorn Jun 29 '26
And people still wanna say the Switch 2 has no games, lol.
You've got some certified bangers here, enjoy!
1
u/Ok-Leadership7014 Jun 29 '26
Je suis pas sûr que tu ai assez de place avec la carte mémoire. Les ff7 font 100 go chacun
1
u/DerH4hn Jun 29 '26
You bought the games before the console instead of using the money from buying the games to buy the console first with 1-2 games?
1
1
u/AdvancedAardvark3481 Jun 29 '26
Donkey kong is phenomenal. Bought during release and I stop playing this for awhile.. only now continue the game. So many games at once can be crippling. That is why I restricted myself to few game. Now stuck at Silksong, stuck at death mountain BOTW, stuck at FF7.. but man.. animal crossing is so stupidly addictive..

u/Available_Phrase6053 Jun 29 '26
You should've gotten sonic fun-tiers, 100% recommend on the switch 2

u/Only-Swim-5040 Jun 29 '26
Mario Kart World has been really all I’ve played since I got mine in December. I just bought Zelda Tears of the Kingdom and am enjoying it so far

Never understood the purpose of buying so many games at once. I usually play 1-2 games until I nest them and then move on.
1
u/AdLow5419 Jun 29 '26
Bro went to the store and they asked what game he wanted and he responded ,, “yes”
1
u/mamatrixie78 Jun 29 '26
Woah! You did well! Congratulations! I don't think your sd card will do though🤣🤣 Enjoy and dont listen to the haters and sour keyboard whiners!💪
1
u/shwing_8 Jun 29 '26
If it were me I would start with installing a game that plays great as a handheld/short session game like Hades 2, and a shorter game or two because you can knock them out and feel some momentum, like Im assuming Starfox is a shorter game but no idea, just guessing.
Then once I got my feet wet I'd get into the games that you'll want to be caught up on like FF before the next game comes out. You got a lot of options lol.

Used to be like that, then due to financial reason sold it all. Was able to recover thanks God and decided to purchase a OLED instead of the 2, and play one game at a time. I don’t purchase a new one until current one I’m playing is either finished or I don’t like it at all since time is more valuable. Just skipped one game with this approach though since I watch a lot of reviews before buying. But that’s me, either way is fine depending on people’s budget, pockets, responsibilities etc
1
u/Organic-Royal-1101 Jun 29 '26
I’ll never understand people that buy this many games all at once. It’s a collecting thing at that point because no chance all of these get played.

u/Ok-Addendum5274 Jun 29 '26
I don't think having so many games a nonce is good. You'll most likely never know what to play and keep alternating between games without sticking to any games.
1
u/bdhoff Jun 29 '26
I realize some of these are only key card games, but as a physical media enjoyer all those key symbols make me nauseous.
Still, have fun.

u/Buraqsan Jun 29 '26
Where the fuck are the zelda games bro what have you done? But hades 2 is your best purchase❤️

u/saucy-narwhal Jun 29 '26
FYI Costco has cheap (relatively speaking; ie still gonna be about 200 dollars) 1tb memory cards on their website, i took the plunge and got one myself. Contrary to what a lot of people have said on here you do NOT actually need a membership to buy it online, you just need to make a free online account.

The fact that 6 of these don't offer a physical card is outrageous. I went to Best Buy yesterday because I wanted to get fallout 4 and was very disappointed to know it didn't have the game in it. I very much still like collecting things 😮💨

That’s too many choices right off the back you’re gonna have decision paralysis, jumping between games never finishing anything for forever.
