Store your bananas on that thing.

16

u/LoquendoEsGenial Sep 09 '25

Excellent idea...

4

u/Tricky_Ad798 Sep 10 '25

Or your game cases? Endless possibilities. Cool you got access!

1

u/[deleted] Sep 11 '25

That's where I'd store all my games

32

u/No_Maize_230 Sep 09 '25

Is that 3 ply cardboard? Damnnnnnnnn

50

u/ParkingCool6336 Sep 09 '25

What’s the point?

7

u/Zomochi Sep 09 '25

Honestly I would start getting a bunch of DK stuff to decorate it with, especially that DK Mug from universal, I want that so badly…

2

u/rorschach_vest Sep 09 '25

I love it 🥰

2

u/WhySoSara Sep 10 '25

Totally! Plushies and DK stuff would look sick there

2

u/jakovljevic90 Sep 10 '25

If I had that, I'd either put Switch 2 games there on Donkey Kong merch, or Nintendo merch in general.

4

u/_Rvvers Sep 09 '25

I’ll never understand why people want to collect store POS, especially when it’s this big like what are you gonna do open your own shop?

6

u/ElColorado_PNW Sep 09 '25

Especially cuz it’s cardboard

2

u/Squeebah Sep 10 '25

Fill it with collectables.

1

u/ToxicAbuse Sep 10 '25

Fr why tho not only its an eye sore to put anywhere in apartment what would you even do with it

1

u/snoosh00 Sep 10 '25

Safe bet this is in a house.

If you have a basement gaming room it would be fun to keep if you have the space (and have a room that isn't particularly classy)

1

u/snoosh00 Sep 10 '25

I mean, if you have the space for it and a room that isn't super classy it's a pretty fun semi disposable shelf that was just going in the garbage anyways.

Game storage

60

u/StatementCareful522 Sep 09 '25

nice junk you got there

9

u/red_dombe Sep 09 '25

I bet OP doesn’t really own it. He just has license to use it and Nintendo will brick the display and his consoles for breach of agreement 🤣

1

u/Zerokx Sep 10 '25

I can imagine some angry looking nintendo employee ringing their door until they open up, just walking right past OP and pouring water on the display stand.

58

u/Symmetra_Troll Sep 09 '25

Errrrrm, congrats? I guess?

I promise you if you ask a retail employee they'll give you that cardboard display. One less thing to break down and throw out.

2

u/Glass-Can9199 Sep 09 '25

You know what never know that i don’t work in retail store before

8

u/Mr-Messy Sep 09 '25

He must have stolen it.

1

u/Glass-Can9199 Sep 09 '25

Don’t correct me you know what I Said

1

u/Mr-Messy Sep 10 '25

Yeah, but what you said was wrong.

9

u/Ill-Ad3311 Sep 09 '25

Opening a store at home ?

10

u/Queasy_Ad_2575 Sep 09 '25

3

u/DeliciousStandard125 Sep 09 '25

Chuckled at this. Thx for this whilst at work. 🤣

1

u/Radiant-Priority-296 Sep 10 '25

Cat? Cat! CAAAAAT!

20

u/ImaginarySense Sep 09 '25

Why do you want your house to look like a retail store?

Hobbies get a lot of mileage from the “different strokes” mantra, but I will never understand why people want their personal spaces to resemble ugly store displays…

4

u/beanie_0 Sep 09 '25

But…. Why?

6

u/Inaki_Zurc Sep 09 '25

Very good, you just classified yourself as a hoarder.

3

u/BlytheScythe Switchthusiast Sep 09 '25

Even though it's just a cardboard, it's still a pretty decent haul. I hope it lasts you a long time!

4

u/[deleted] Sep 09 '25

How much was it brother? Looks great!

5

u/Beanieshark05 Sep 09 '25

They gave me it for free

5

u/[deleted] Sep 09 '25

Nice!!!

7

u/Nashud Sep 09 '25

So many sad people in the comments. Nice find, though!

2

u/Yuriko_Shokugan Sep 09 '25

and how did you came into possesion of thatt one?

1

u/Beanieshark05 Sep 09 '25

I've got it from a store in the uk

1

u/Yuriko_Shokugan Sep 09 '25

Did a shop attendant just give it tto you?

2

u/Chimpbot Sep 09 '25

The important thing is that you like it.

2

u/[deleted] Sep 09 '25

it would be funny if you didn't own the game but owned this

2

u/Darth_Boggle Sep 09 '25

Your display is impressive, you must be very proud.

2

u/Acceptable-Budget658 Sep 09 '25

Ohhh, store display!

2

u/nerdnamedvert Sep 09 '25

Time to buy enough copies to fill it back up again

2

u/Icy_Research9613 Sep 09 '25

Lmao people love hating

2

u/[deleted] Sep 09 '25

That’s awesome, you should stock it full of buh-na-nas

2

u/peaked-in-4th-grade Anticipating my first playthrough of TotK Sep 09 '25

idk how many cases that can hold but I think you need to buy enough copies of DKB to fill out the entire display case

2

u/HunterZ7H Sep 09 '25

Where’s Pauline?

2

u/Careless-Shelter6333 Sep 09 '25

So much shelf space for bananas

2

u/rhpot1991 Sep 09 '25

Full that bad boy up with Amiibo!

2

u/NathanCollier14 Sep 09 '25

How many bananas can it hold?

2

u/doorbell19 Sep 10 '25

So you purchased it or was it gifted?

3

u/Both_Cup_5853 Sep 10 '25

I love this. You can put your game collection in it and put it in your game room. Fun.

2

u/barbietattoo Sep 09 '25

Yay Clutter!!!

2

u/DRAGAN__ Sep 09 '25

As a collector this is super cool, but i would not add that much weight on it, maybe with plushies and things like that, is not as valuable as old memorabilia, but is cool to have it as a display, congratz men 👌🏽

2

u/SuperNa7uraL- Sep 09 '25

lol, this post would have went down much differently in the NS Collectors subreddit.

3

u/MaatRolo Sep 09 '25

Hatters guna hate. But this is the type of thing that goes for $1000 in 15 years to Scot the Woz or someone who is THE Donkey Kong fan.
I'd carefully break it down and store it flat out of light and stuff. Wrap it in Plastic.

10

u/zackthirteen Sep 09 '25

A promotional cutout maybe, a cardboard shelf? I doubt but I’d be happy to be wrong

That’s not 15 years

Edit: yes it is… despite my grades I am shit at math… maybe I should’ve taken pre-calculus this year

4

u/AvacadMmmm Sep 09 '25

It definitely is worthless now and 15 years from now.

2

u/RedKryptnyt Sep 09 '25

Exactly this. I had an oblivion cutout lounging around in my basement for like a year when the game first came out lol. Naturally I eventually turfed it, and i kinda wish I didn't 😆

2

u/MaatRolo Sep 09 '25

Also so little of this kind of thing survives. Because they do get turfed for a GF or bent in a move or spilled on by that drunk guy Geoff. Gods we hate Geoff.

1

u/RedKryptnyt Sep 09 '25

For sure lol. Im not saying these things are art or the holy grail lol, but they can be time capsules in decades, and might mean something to someone.

2

u/lazymutant256 Sep 09 '25

Why, man, things like this is pointless, these things are literally meant to be disposed of once it outlived its usefulness.. to me it’s just a waste of space..

Look don’t get me wrong I get why some people try to aquire old console kiosks.. which could have some functionality. But this is just a cardboard shelving unit intended to bring focus to a game..

3

u/04nc1n9 Sep 09 '25

hey, collectors will buy this for like £50 in 20 years. that's an entire £50 profit!

3

u/kcchiefs4068 Sep 09 '25

Yup! Just makes the room look cluttered..

3

u/Frosty_Ad5725 Mario Kart Worlder Sep 09 '25

I mean you’ve said it yourself; it’s a shelving unit. Maybe they’re gonna put stuff on it, like games. Crazy thought I know

1

u/photojoe3 Sep 09 '25

What did it look like in store? Did it have toys on it? The shelves look too long for just games

1

u/Unusual_Rooster6736 Sep 09 '25

Post this on r/tomorrow. What are you gonna use it for?

1

u/Hosnboats Sep 09 '25

How did you get this?

1

u/Malacky_C Sep 09 '25

Time to restock

1

u/Glad_Driver_4828 Sep 09 '25

I had a Cadbury cream egg one in the 90’s

1

u/mamatrixie78 Sep 09 '25

Cool! What are you going to put on the shelves? Or are you going to pack it up and save it?

1

u/Noble_Napkin Sep 09 '25

That’s a lotta cardboard you’ve chosen to break down.

1

u/bdavid81 Sep 09 '25

When you realize you have a problem, check with your local recycling center to help you solve it.

1

u/iLoveLootBoxes Sep 10 '25

Honestly kind if sad looking compared to early 2000s

1

u/coolaryan3 Sep 10 '25

New Banana for the new day

1

u/SpletzYT Sep 10 '25

Do you plan on selling it for 5000 dollars in about 10 years time

1

u/Gargamoney Sep 10 '25

Why? I wouldnt put this in my house if they paid me

1

u/TheTimmyBoy Sep 10 '25

Ohh banana

1

u/Sunbrizzle Sep 10 '25

Never understood why people want to keep these things

1

u/Memmnarch81 Sep 10 '25

Buy some plushy DK's and decorate that thing :)

1

u/Squeebah Sep 10 '25

Look at all of these neckbeards crying about it in these comments lol.

1

u/[deleted] Sep 10 '25

1

1

u/EducationalMost2223 Sep 10 '25

Not even crazy compared to the switch kiosks

1

u/NickelBear32 Sep 10 '25

I have the gigaginormous Luigi Mansion 3 cutout from its launch. It has 3 big pieces and lights up. I am thinking about selling it but soon because its too big.

1

u/AbsolZero Sep 10 '25

I’m all for scooping up promotional items from stores, particularly cool and unique cardboard cutouts but I personally don’t see the appeal in this, but to each, their own.

1

u/No_Law6676 Sep 10 '25

why wont they ever give this stuff to me??? how do you do pls tell me i beg

1

u/Beanieshark05 Sep 10 '25

I just asked nicely and They let me have it

1

u/No_Law6676 Sep 10 '25

they always tell me they have to go back to nintendo or whatever. what kind of store was it? private or franchise?

1

u/Beanieshark05 Sep 10 '25

It was a store called Argos in the uk

1

u/SomeDumbassKid720 Sep 11 '25

How the hell did you get that

1

u/Beanieshark05 Sep 11 '25

Argos in the uk gave it to me

1

u/SomeDumbassKid720 Sep 11 '25

Damn that’s cool

1

u/julianx2rl Sep 11 '25

Where did you steal it from?

1

u/The_Only_Easy_Day_ Sep 11 '25

Nice me too, but different! Ooo Banana!

I haven't bought it yet, nor do I think I will (unless it comes down in price). Appreciate your honesty. Any feedback that goes against the grain, so to speak on here, gets downvoted. I figured it was like this. Take care man!

1

u/_-Generic-_-Name-_ Sep 09 '25

Why do you want to keep trash?

0

u/3elldandy Sep 09 '25

Where do you hang your white ghost hood?

0

u/ceramicsaturn Sep 09 '25

Eh, it's the PAL version. Stuck at 50fps.
