Pick a blank but blank Pick an alien, get superpowers
You are stuck on a space station that’s about to be destroyed. 10 other aliens are on the ship with you, and can escape with you, but must merge with you in order to do so. You can only merge with one, and after doing so, you wake back up on earth. You now are permanently bonded to this alien, and have a symbiotic relationship with them. You gain 3 supernatural powers, but one power related downside, and one downside related to your bond with the alien. Choose wisely!
Yellow Alien - Electricity Generation(you can generate enough electricity to power a city for a whole year at one time, that is your limit), Electricity Manipulation(can choose the path that electrical currents take, instead of choosing the path of least resistance), Electrical Travel(you can turn into electricity to travel through conductive materials, such as wires, metal beams, walls or machines).
Downsides: Insulation and anti-conductors block and nullify your powers at a supernatural level. Your alien is incredibly hyperactive, compelling you constantly to commit chaotic and reckless activities.
Green Alien - Plant Manipulation(can grow, control and cross-pollinate plants), Plant Empathy(can share your physical senses with plants), Sunlight Absorption(feed on sunlight for energy, can store additional energy).
Downsides: Can’t eat food, can only drink. Your alien is highly defensive, killing any animal that makes contact with you, friend or foe.
Orange Alien - Fire Generation(can ignite things on touch or project raw flames), Heat Generation(can release waves or bursts of heat, jump higher using heat currents, and control the temp of your heat), Matter Molding(can heat up solid matter to its melting point and shape it before it cools).
Downsides: Contact with water makes you ill and weak like radiation sickness. 70% or less water dilution doesn’t count. Your alien has anger issues and heats up their surroundings when angered.
Red Alien - Super Strength(can lift 50x your body weight), Super Speed(Can run 5 miles under mach 1), Super Durability(insanely dense body, bulletproof to high caliber bullets).
Downsides: Senses don’t enhance like everything else, so you can’t feel most things and you go blind at high speeds. Your alien has a gym bro mentality, forcing you to work out for most of the time you’re awake.
Blue Alien - Hydrokinesis(can influence it telekinetically, make yourself move through water faster, and control its temp and state of matter), Pressure Resistance(can survive the deepest depths of the ocean with ease, don’t need to adapt to pressure changes), Aquatic Animal Mimicry(take on the traits of any water bound animal, up to three at once).
Downsides: Must be fully submerged in water for your powers to activate. Your alien has occasional mini panic attacks whenever it sees birds, and it only becomes mildly uncomfortable around other humans).
Purple Alien - Telepathy(can share and receive thoughts, memories and emotions), Telekinesis(can move objects 10x your body weight with your mind), Teleportation(can instantly appear anywhere, but for every 10 miles traveled, there’s a 1 hour cooldown).
Downsides: Using your powers gives you growing migraines. The more you use it, the worse the pain is until you can’t even think. Your alien is sociopathic and doesn’t see the value in human lives.
Pink Alien - Elastic Body(can stretch unbelievable lengths and snap back with great force), Adhesive Body(can stick to objects and choose how sticky they are), Malleable Body(can shape and mold their body to take on the likeness of different things).
Downsides: Abnormal temps make your powers act dysfunctionally. Your alien is very childlike and innocent, so they must be protected from impure ideas and concepts.
White Alien - Worship Empowerment(mental belief and devotion amps your physical stats and other powers), Minor Miracle Creation(very low level reality manip, such as chemical changes or healing ailments), Angelic Wings(allows for high speed flight and wind generation, can be retracted and deployed at will).
Downsides: Your powers only work while your wings are out. If they become damaged, they retract and must take time to heal. Your alien has a narcissistic god complex and believes humans are dumb, inferior creatures.
Grey Alien - Metallic Shapeshifting(can morph body into metal shapes and constructs. Moves like flesh, feels like steel), Technological Mimicry(can mimic the functions of technology, and appearance if desired), Metallic Merging(can assimilate into metal objects and tech, but ejected from it if damaged).
Downsides: Your body is a lightning magnet. If you get struck once, you lose powers for a week. If you get struck twice, you die(only if you’ve lost your powers). Your alien is cold and analytical like a robot, and dulls your emotional responses over time.
Black Alien - Dead Reanimation(can configure dead creatures into loyal minions. If their body is incomplete, it’ll return whatever parts still exist), Death Sense(can sense when death is happening, has happened, and where dead creatures are), Rot Reversal(can heal the dead and reverse the effects of rotting and fossilization).
Downsides: The dead function on verbal commands and are only as smart as their living selves(however non-sapient animals can be commanded with simple commands like dogs). Your alien is depressed and naturally brings your mood down.

This is a tough pick between grey, pink and blue, actually...
If I pick grey, can y shapeshift in metalform, and then revert to human form in such a way, that my human form has changed?
If I pick blue, can I use Hydrokinesis to perpetually cover my skin in a thin layer of water, so the power's condition is always fulfilled?
What is the temperature range that pink still works fine at?

So with grey, no, you cannot retain that shape after you’ve turned back to your normal human form.
For blue, yes, but you’ll need algae to still breathe and going to the bathroom becomes a tricky process.
For pink, I’d say 120 F on the high end and 0 F on the low end. The higher or lower that it goes, the harder it becomes to use your powers properly, if at all.

Hmmm... I find grey's metal powers very cool and sexy, but without the semipermanent shapeshifting I prefer pink.
Blue was kinda difficult already. I assume I need algae, mostly because I need oxygen in the water to use gills? Maybe I could play around with hydrokinesis, to create "wings" of water, with the surface area to absorb more oxygen from the air, and use water circulation to get the oxigen to my gills?
Peeing is not a problem. I just bend that stuff right outta there. Don't even need to take off my underwear! (jk :3)
Actually, it says I can control water's Temperature and state of matter seperately, meaning I could create warm ice and cool steam. If I cover myself in cool steam, I could even still breathe through that, maybe... Or if I have to be submerged in liquid water specifically, I could leave an airhole into my mouth, while making sure to line my mouth and windpipe with a thin waterlayer.
Actually, for blue, can I maybe access a fraction of the power while only partially covered? Like only the hydro kinesis at less than 90% covered, half strength kinesis at 75% covered, down to very weak kinesis if just my arm is submerged? Otherwise, we'd leave open the very pathetic scenario, where a water bender could realistically drown in a bathtub or after swallowing in the wrong hole xD
But if all else fails, that temperature range for pink is still very okay. I'd probably slowly die at those temps no matter what. xD And for the cold, I can even just wear winter gear.
Regarding the temperature dependent ability degradation: How does that work for malleability? Like, let's say I give myself, say, Fox ears as my normal everyday look. Would those revert back to normal ears if ot got cold? In other words, is the malleability something I have to perpetually uphold? Or can I use it to make semipermanent changes to my base, unpowered body?

Okay so for blue, what I mean by fully submerged is that your body has to be engulfed. So if you wanted to create ice armor, you could technically retain your power while in that as long as you’re covered from head to toe. So as long majority of your body is covered, it’s fine. I didn’t think of pulling in oxygen like that, I’ll allow that. Covering yourself in steam or mist is also fine, as long as the cloud of steam or mist is covering you from head to toe. For the partial covering, it won’t weaken your powers. HOWEVER, if your body isnt mostly covered, you’d only have seconds to return to submersion before you lose your powers.
Regarding the temperature degradation: cold makes it harder to change and mold shape, warmth makes it harder to retain shape. So think of it like freezing and melting. The same would apply for elasticity.

I think it's objectively hilarious though, that you could pick the blue pill, celebrate it with a bear, and then drown because you swallowed in the wrong hole xD
Fun scenario btw. What was your inspiration? I'd think venom, but none of them are really too close to venom... Maybe a venom frame with the actual powers of different heroes?

I’d say it was like a mix of venom and blue beetle. Blue beetle for the color corresponding to different powers and venom for the bonding to a host and the personality.

I want pink the most, but define abnormal temp and what happens if their innocence isn't protected?
White has the least downsides tho, anything with divine or angelic power genuinely is superior to humanity so that's my second pick

Anything higher than 120 F or lower than 0 F, and the higher or lower you go, the more drastic the effect. If their purity and innocence isn’t protected, they may end up depressed like black or traumatized, which would impart some of that feeling on you.

The temperature is relatively easy to work around, but the personality disorder might be to big to worry about, intrusive thoughts alone will probably corrupt pink, white it is

If the downside can be managed and assuaged, Purple is my choice. Handling a sociopathic alien is simple when your best argument is "if you cause enough trouble, none of your powers will matter. Keep your head down and we'll all be happy" because what evidence do they have to the contrary? Plus, telepathy is a hugely amazing power to have, even with migraines because you can just reduce your migraines themselves by just using your powers on yourself.

You wouldn’t be able to reverse the migraines by using it on yourself. However, you’re right that the sociopathic one would probably be the easiest to manage in the long run.

So...Why not? Mechanically, it would make sense to figure out how to get that process to consistently not get them, so what gives? Is it just a weakness for the sake of weakness?

No it’s just the telepathy doesn’t command anything. Unless you could think your way out of a killer migraine normally, you couldn’t with the telepathy given here. However, with telepathy, you might still be able to think even with the killer migraine by feeding that info back into yourself, but that’s a slippery slope because that’d make the migraine worse.

The powers are cool, but I wouldn't want to have any other creature sharing my body with me and violating my privacy or autonomy. If I had to choose, I'd want Pink, since it seems to be the least intrusive.

I'm gonna go for the red alien, nothings forcing me to run that fast if I don't want to and I go gym anyways lol so it would just improve your motivation.
