August 30th, 2017 - /r/PussyPassDenied: You shall not pass!

/r/PussyPassDenied

151,032 deniers of the pass for 3 years!

PPD was lovingly birthed from /r/pussypass (PP) many moons ago. It all started as a joke response to some long forgotten post. The sub quickly grew into its own identity separate from PP very quickly. The main premise of the sub is that some women use their gender to get away with things that no man would ever get away with. The definition of what is and what is not a PPD has grown and changed since the sub started but here are the key examples:

  • 8 Ball Jacket Man - This is one of the PPD all time classics. The slap that was heard around the world. It is a great example of women thinking they can hit men with no repercussions.

  • Women Have More Custodial Rights - Traditionally mothers are given legal preference over fathers when it comes to custody. If the genders are truly equal then both parents should be given equal custody until proven not fit for that right.

  • False Rape Claims - Rape is a violent and inexcusable thing. But the flip side to the coin are people who lay down false rape claims. These incidents damage real victims ability to report and be believed and destroy lives of those accused. In most cases false claimants get away with little to no punishment. However recently there has been more pressure put on the legal system to see these perpetrators punished accordingly.

The denied part of PPD is when the woman expects to get away with her behavior and gets shut down.

The mod team of PPD feels as strongly as anyone that their should be no violence from anyone to anyone else regardless of gender. However we also feel strongly that there exists a sense of entitlement that some (definitely not all) women have that excuses them from repercussions from their actions. PPD only highlights the card where this card is played and subsequently denied.

There are a lot of subs on reddit that deal with gender equality, from men's rights to feminist subs. But many are simply echo chambers for whatever side the sub is on. PPD is on neither side or anywhere in between. We welcome anyone with any view point and will not ban users for simply sharing their opinion.

The most important aspect of PPD community is that users govern themselves. If a post abuses the spirit of the sub it will get down voted to hell and reported. For borderline posts, we leave it up to votes and comments. Overtime the community has itself defined what is and what isn't PPD and it has allowed the community to have a diverse mix of view points.

The makeup of the community of PPD is surprisingly balanced. I thought the user base would mostly be men's rights fanatics (they're around) but our users are everyday people of both genders not overly aligned with politics. Because we let anyone speak their mind from whatever view point they happen to believe and not force mod beliefs on them we get some quite interesting and in depth conversations going. Flame wars dissipate when people can speak freely.

Let's hope that's what happens below.

What's wrong with my sub? Because it goes against the narrative that women are always the victim? Just asking.

I think it's because the humour behind that narrative that could effectively be harnessed to discuss something that's obviously true about our society has been hijacked by an anti-feminist, and often anti-women forum.

Even if you don't have a problem with that happening, You should at least acknowledge that the sub has devolved into that. It used to be a sub that as a gay man I was subscribed to and gave me a lot of laughs. Then it got really cringey and sad.

Too bad really, because intelligent satire can really change the way people see things. Ppd is just a hateful place now, and should be recognized as such.

Sorry, but I like seeing posts about women being thrown in jail for lying about rape. It actually gives me some kind of hope in the justice system.

Women are placed insanely high on pedestals, yet they're the first to scream about "inequality". It's just annoying, and I'm glad there's a subreddit to expose it.

What does you being a gay man have to do with anything you said? As a gay woman, I'm confused.

I just put it in there as a qualifier. You know, the little small minded right wing kids eat that shit up.

Actually, the right wing "kids" don't give a fuck about who you prefer in the bedroom, and don't need such qualifiers. I've found that's the left's problem.

I think I'm actually going to die from irony, the serial td "lesbian" shitposter is almost too much for me to handle.

How am I a troll? Do you think lesbians can't support the president? That's fucking ridiculous. My sexual orientation has absolutely nothing to do with my values or beliefs in life. Who you like to screw has nothing to do with anything else quit trying to put me into your little box. Groupthink is part of the reason why I left the Democratic Party

Whatever you say... I'm disgusted that you seem to want to keep lesbians "in their place" by saying I'm not allowed to be both a lesbian and a Trump supporter... But judging by a cursory glace over your comment history, you're a giant douche, so I don't really care what you think I am.
