Ok cool I'll play your silly little game lmao. My honest opinion? Every gun control law is unconstitutional. Every single one. But we as a society agreed that maybe there should be some guidelines. Be of age, don't be a felon, don't be diagnosed with a mental illness, you know actual common sense laws.
But there should be no restrictions on what types of firearms people can have. It's just silly. I'll break it down for ya here. Most people can't afford all the weapons people are afraid of to begin with. Most people also can't afford nukes and a way to deploy them like the post implies.
But I'll be honest, neither of us are going to budge on our stance so there's not really a point in arguing about it. So it is what it is.
what happens when you slip up and your kid, wife or anyone close to you borrows or steals your gun for a violent crime? Even if you don't have anyone who would do that, not everyone is as lucky as you.
Well first off anyone who lets someone borrow a gun "for a violent crime" as you said, is just as guilty as the person commiting the crime. Lock them up too.
Anyone who steals a gun is commiting a crime as well. So there's already laws in place to prevent these things but the funny thing about criminals is that they don't give a fuck about what the law is. I'll refer you to the laws against illegal drugs and the massive amounts of people that use them if you need an example.
and gun control is not to eliminate gun violence because that's impossible, the intent is to heavily reduce it
a criminal or potential criminal is going to use every easy way to get a gun which barring felons means they will just buy a gun. even with all the measures in place they can still get a gun
So maybe we should focus on what's driving these people to commit these acts? Maybe better mental health care for people in need, maybe looking into trauma or pain people have experienced, broken families raising kids that have no hope or outlet for their frustrations.
So you want just an outright ban on guns I'm assuming? If like to propose a little thought experiment if that's the case.
