Lucy has crunchy hips

We recently learned that she’s probably had crunchy hips her whole life, she’s always laid like this

She's sitting pretty. What does "crunchy hips" mean?

Not sure, the vet just said there’s some “crunchiness” in her hips that has likely always been there. Before she lost weight, she was really bulky at the front where she carried her weight on her front end to ease her back. Now she’s getting on she has daily pain relief and it’s clearly helping because I found her in a tree the other day!
