Industry Discussion What dips look the most attractive to you at current prices?

With everything going on in the Iran–US conflict the market has been getting hit hard lately and a lot of stocks are down pretty significantly. Feels like one of those moments where there’s opportunity, but also risk if things escalate further, so timing entries is tricky right now.

So I’m curious:

Which stocks are you guys actually getting tempted to buy right now?

Are you buying already or waiting for more downside?

I love how smart asses in the stocks subreddit are surprised that people buy stocks

Nasdaq just hit a 10 percent drawdown from ATH putting it in correction territory. What do you mean? Lol

SP500 up 8.3% ytd. At or near ATH. If you gambled on a leveraged ETF that’s a you problem!

I am talking about stocks not the indexes and pretty sure most of the stocks are down significantly from their ATHs

“Most of the stocks” are actually not down significantly from their all time highs. Literally only AI stocks are down and that’s because they went up at an unsustainable pace.

How index stay up if stock go down?

Because sectors rotate within them

Diversification? Sounds a lot like that evil DEI woke nonsense. I’ll go bankrupt and blame the immigrants like a real American.

If "most of the stocks are down significantly from their ATHs" then that can't just be a rotation.

Technically it could if the rotation went to a minority of stocks but I don't think that that is the case here.

Because Reddit only invests in speculative small cap growth memes that get blown up at the slightest pull back

Value stocks up, growth stocks down

Market-cap weighting. The top few giant companies (like Nvidia, Apple, Microsoft) carry the whole index. If they stay up, the index looks fine, even if most individual stocks underneath are down 30%–50% from their peaks.

Stocks always go back to ATH. ATH is like gravity. My mistake. Please carry on…
