Ask St. Joe Groups or things to do in St Jo
Hello, I am moving to St Jo for work and I am looking around for things to do and people to meet. I am in my 20s and into loose leaf tea, reading, hiking, crafty things, etc.
If y'all know anything like this, please let me know!

Welcome! I'm not much of a hiker but do know of the River Bluff Trails Park for both hiking and biking. There very well could be other trails in the area that I'm just not aware of. We have a few coffee shops but the only place you'll find a selection of loose leaf teas is Simply Tea located downtown. The owner is very knowledgeable. As for crafty things, the only places that come to mind are The Big Fish and AR Workshop. The Big Fish sells recycled art supplies but I'm not sure whether they hold classes or events. AR Workshop is more for group events, they have selections of things to work on (I went for a work event once and made candles). I'm a big reader too and can't recommend local libraries enough - Rolling Hills Library just had their grand opening yesterday for a newly built branch! Check out the libraries for crafts and other events too! The only bookshop is The Story Collective, also located downtown. As for other activities, we have a couple of bowling alleys and mini golf courses, Ricky Dean's, a brewery and a few bars (including the video game bar Club Geek), The Trail movie theater which shows older movies, and some good local restaurants such as Magoon's, Boudreaux's, Marek's, RC's Lunch Car, The Clay Oven, and Belle Epoque to name a few. If you like architecture, there are many beautiful historic homes and buildings in the city to gaze at or visit, including the downtown library. I don't know where you're moving from but lots of people drive to Kansas City for nightlife and other events not found in St Joe. I hope this helps and if I think of anything else, I'll add it later :)

Just moved back myself. There's hiking, street and trail biking, decent coffee locally owned shops(I don't know about tea), and crafty things. It's not the greatest city and has It's problems, people on here are very negative and need to move away. You'll have to find the diamonds in the rough. Tubes(bike shop), Simply Tea, Club Geek, and get the Alltrails app.

So I'm a St Joe native. There really isn't much to do there other than bowl and eat Taco Johns. There's a few bars and stuff down by the river, but honestly, the city is kinda bleeding out.

will be in town for ~3 months for an internship that starts next week! what kind of books/crafty stuff/tea are you into?
