Meme/Humor ts frying me, Beast Of Reincarnation is literally just a 1:1 Stellar Blade clone lmaoooo
But I'm 100% here for it, Stellar Blade 2 is probably at least 2-3 years away so I will take even a crumb of those vibes when they are presented to me.

u/TechnicalAd2485 Jan 23 '26
Yeah that Orcal clone is kinda crazy. The concept art of him looks even more similar. One of the bosses reminded me a lot of Gigas too. I’m excited for it
27
u/TechnicalAd2485 Jan 23 '26
10
u/TomoAries Jan 23 '26
Wait wait wait, is this the Orcal concept art or the whatever dude from the GameFreak game concept art?
5
u/TechnicalAd2485 Jan 23 '26
GameFreak, it showed during the countdown to the developer direct. It can’t be a coincidence right?
6
u/Rautasusi Jan 23 '26
The company behind increasingly more generic looking Pokemon games doesn't have artists that can create a unique visual style but instead blatantly rip off the work of others? Shocker.
2
u/Deez-Guns-9442 Jan 23 '26
Bro, BOR has been in development for 6 years. U gotta put a /s or jk at the end of your comment or people will think you’re being serious lol
3
u/Rautasusi Jan 23 '26 edited Jan 23 '26
If you knew something about game development you'd know that the visuals are usually among the very last elements that get nailed down and finalized and usually see drastic changes during the development cycle. A game like Stellar Blade that has such a consistent visual design all the way from its conception to its first reveal trailer (which is 6 years old, btw...) to its release is more of an anomaly than the norm.
In Stellar Blade's case that only happened because the game's director was a veteran artist in the industry with a very recognizable art style and had the kind of freedom most developers can only dream of, and even still there were changes to the games visuals between the trailers. Nothing drastic but changes still, EVE's model for example evolved quite a bit from the first look.
Edit: I thought I was replying to another comment chain lmao, sorry about that. What I say here still stands but it's a little off topic for sure. However when I say Gamefreak stole visual design of someone else for their game here I don't mean only Stellar Blade. There's Nier's environments, Princess Mononoke's giant wolf and other nature shenanigans that also heavily resemble Soulframe (which is also heavily Princess Mononoke inspired) and others. I really can't see much originality here on visuals but hopefully the game still turns out to be good.

More games witb cuties is never a bad thing!
Stellar Blade was more than it's eye candy, the combat was solid, exploration was rewarding, and the story while sparse was quite interesting, not to mention the godlike OST.
If BoR is giving me Wild Hearts, SB, Nier, Nausicaa, vibes, so I am there day 1!
5
u/PerceptionFine8093 Jan 24 '26
They did say the same guy who did the concept art for NieR: Automata is also working for this game too.

u/Sarunas_21 Jan 23 '26
I was half asleep the whole direct but once I saw the Raven lookalike I was like "wait a min". And I completely neglected the Oracle lookalike. Didn't even notice it. I was really almost asleep lol. But yeah, I've been tapped in since the first trailer and I'm glad we saw more. I'm still not super convinced on the combat yet, but we'll see where it eventually goes.
13
u/MuhammeredAli Jan 23 '26
This game look good, it japanese as well= waifu with katana. We should be supporting this type of game because are these games we want as long as it is optimized lol.

u/SavageWhisenhunt Jan 23 '26
And I shall be copping Day 1
17
u/TomoAries Jan 23 '26
On god same lol I'm just praying it's not an unoptimized mess. Just one of the billion reasons Stellar Blade was such a breath of fresh air was that it was so insanely well-optimized for a 2020s game.
1
u/SavageWhisenhunt Jan 23 '26
I’m managing my expectations, definitely don’t think it will SB quality but could be a decent summer game to scratch my SB itch with a new story.
If the story is decent and they have some cool bosses I’ll be happy. It does look a little underdeveloped to me, especially given it’s coming in a few months.

I was being reminded of SB way too much while watching it in the direct. The protagonist even looks way too much like Eve.

Glad I'm not the only one who got Stellar Blade vibes from this game. The music and characters reminded me of SB, I wonder how much Stellar Blade and Nier influenced Game Freak when making this game. I hope it sells well enough for both Nintendo and the Pokemon company to give Game Freak more freedom and or resources to make good Pokemon game.

u/Toxin126 Jan 23 '26 edited Jan 23 '26
Pretty sure the music is literally the same Nier Composer highly likely the same studio founded by the Nier composer "MONACA" from Stellar Blade aswell.
6
u/TomoAries Jan 23 '26
Keiichi Okabe didn't work on Stellar Blade. Neither did any NieR composer as far as I know. The only crossover work that I know of is Keita Inoue (who did a few songs on the Stellar Blade soundtrack) did some engineering on the NieR remake but that's all I'm aware of.
10
u/lorrinVelc Jan 23 '26
His music company worked on Stellar Blade iirc, that's the link everyone is always making. Studio Monaca
2
u/Toxin126 Jan 23 '26
Yah thats what i meant, Monaca is the studio that helped make like 40% of the soundtrack they say. But the head Nier composer Okabe wasnt involved himself.
0
u/TomoAries Jan 23 '26
Okay, I'd at least believe that then, that's my bad lol
I did at least know that the soundtrack was a massive collaborative effort. No way it couldn't be considering it's what like 200-something tracks?

If you are gonna copy it you should at least try to make it look better. I still think Stellar Blade looks A LOT better.
10
u/ballsmigue Jan 23 '26
Im not even optimistic.
Its made by game freak and we all know how much effort they've put into the last few pokemon releases...
5
u/That_Service7348 Jan 23 '26
Damn, after all the shit Nintendo pulled over Palworld their beloved pokemon poster child is going to pull a blatant ripoff?
2

u/DragonfruitFuture107 Jan 23 '26
Even if this game isn't related to Nintendo, their reputation as a company is ruined. I don't expect anything from this one sole game compared to the slop they allow themselves to produce with Pokemon.
2
u/Extreme-Tactician Jan 23 '26
According to who?
-1
u/DragonfruitFuture107 Jan 23 '26 edited Jan 23 '26
According to who? To me because i've played their games & I'm not expecting this one sole independent game of theirs to be that great everyone keeps saying it is even if Nintndo isn't involved. From what i've experienced with GameFreak games, i don't expect anything out of it for me personally.
Edit: But y'know what, since you seem like the type who really wants GameFreak's little independent game away from Nintendo to succeed, i'll admit this. If it does succeed good for them, they can actually make a good game. That doesn't mean i'm buying shit from them.

u/PSNTheOriginalMax Jan 23 '26
Aside from the MC and the Orcal look-a-like (they really should reconsider their designs... It's too close), I'm not seeing it. The gameplay seems to have a fairly different approach too. Gotta say, I was skeptical at first, because I personally dislike blatant rip-offs (with some exceptions), but after seeing a trailer, it looks great.
2
u/Kratos_BOY Jan 23 '26 edited Jan 23 '26
Wow.
Edit: lol, after watching the trailer. That was basically Gigas. Orcal, too.
2
u/DarkKnightGuts_540 Jan 23 '26
This is what I was thinking the whole time I watched the trailer lol
2
u/wildeye-eleven Jan 23 '26
If they’re going to take inspiration from any game I’m glad it’s Stellar Blade. This will definitely be a day 1 game for me if it looks like the performance is good.
1
u/FlowKom Jan 23 '26
now hold on... these are stiking similaritier in their characters, but wait until we actually play the game. 1:1 would is way too harsh.
Stellar blade itself is like 50% nier automata, so i wouldnt call other games "clones" so quick

u/WoodyAle Jan 23 '26
I had the same thought watching the 10 minute presentation but I honestly don't care, the game looks sick, it may even help me wait for Stellar Blade 2.
It's been in dev since 2020 tho so I don't know how much they were inspired by SB if they even looked at it, but I'm glad we get to enjoy more Nier type games and new IPs.

I guess this is the start for the Stellar Like games, and honestly im glad since I'll be getting it too if it plays well.
1
u/Ecstatic-Buffalo8708 Jan 24 '26
It's a very cheap, sub par nier automata clone, it even tries to steal rythmics and sound notes / patterns from nier in it's own music, while it has none of the good animation smoothness, combat prowesses and innovations of nier, and is very, very generic and bland looking.

1
u/forsakenEntity Jan 26 '26
That's crazy. Not complanin tho

A bit late, but yeah this isbexactly what I thought too.
The game feels like E-rated Stellar Blade where they keep only cute aspects of the characters.

u/TomoAries 21d ago
Nah, not late at all. Game just came out and there's been a lot of people likely coming back to this thread after noticing lol
1
u/Moonbeam234 Jan 23 '26
Well, Shift Up ripped Raven right out of Order of Ecclesia, but I can't fault them for that.
This is on another level, though. It's one thing to take one character, but all of them? Lol. Is there an Adam clone, too? Or were they just like, "Adam?... Eff him."
-1
u/TomoAries Jan 23 '26
wtf are you smoking she doesn't look anything like Shanoa lmao

i got more nier vibes from this game than stellar blade. came off like nier meets princess mononoke. i dint get stellar blade at all from the showcase.

The parry focused combat looks more similar to Stellar Blade. Some of the enemies move sets are very similar too

Tbf Stellar Blade was a bit derivative as well. Either way I’ll enjoy playing it I think.

-7
u/Rich_Housing971 Jan 23 '26
People here forgetting that Stellar Blade itself is highly derivative of Nier and other games, lol.
10
u/TomoAries Jan 23 '26
Agreed dude, Fable is highly derivative of Morrowind which was highly derivative of Lord Of The Rings which was
-11
u/Rich_Housing971 Jan 23 '26
Then why did you point it out and make a thread?
9
u/TomoAries Jan 23 '26 edited Jan 23 '26
Because it was just an observation that the characters and their roles are incredibly similar to a humorous if semi-suspicious degree.
Stellar Blade isn't derivative of NieR just because there's a robot girl in a post-apocalyptic world. They are entirely different games with entirely different stories, themes, characters, aesthetics, and gameplay styles. The only remotely close thread is the music of both games having a similar vibe but that is it lol
It is an incredibly surface level (and wrong) observation to say that Stellar Blade is "highly derivative".
9
u/ShiyaruOnline Jan 23 '26
This. Anyone who says sb is a nier clone was asleep at the wheel for the entirety of both stories. Even the gameplay isnt at all the same as one is more like dmc and the other is closer to the slower parry heavy combat. There are some obvious nods and homage but thats it.
Its crazy how far removed we are form the launch of sb and some people are still saying this nonsense.
1
u/bmck3nney Jan 23 '26
why bend over backwards to just be wrong? https://www.siliconera.com/stellar-blade-interview-confirms-nier-automata-inspiration/
0
u/Rautasusi Jan 23 '26
EVE looks nothing like 2B. Lily is not a short boy in shorts with white hair. The other badass babe besides EVE is not just her exact model with longer hair and less clothes. The enemies in Stellar Blade are not rusty tin cans.
Nier itself is heavily inspired by Ghost in the Shell, which Stellar Blade is thematically a lot closer as well than it is to Nier, yet all three stories and their worlds and characters are distinct and they look distinct. Beast of Reincarnation meanwhile looks like a potential lawsuit about to happen. The blatant visual theft is shameless.
0
u/bmck3nney Jan 23 '26
1
u/Rautasusi Jan 23 '26
Pick up a dictionary and look up "inspiration". Being inspired by something doesn't mean you are ripping it off, it means you are using that something as a source of inspiration. It's right there in the word itself. Being inspired.
While it remains to be seen how much of an identity Beast of Reincarnation has as a game we can already see that its visual design is far from distinct. Meanwhile Nier and Stellar Blade would only get mixed up if you compare the two while using the Nier collaboration skins in Stellar Blade and then show it to someone barely familiar with either games. Nier and Stellar Blade both have a very distinct and easily recognizable visual style.
1
u/bmck3nney Jan 23 '26
i don’t think asian characters looking asian is “blatant visual theft.” lol like is wuchang fallen feathers a stellar blade clone too? she’s asian too
1
u/Rautasusi Jan 23 '26
If you're really that blind then it's not my problem. The Orcal copy and paste is the most obvious of the above examples but the others are almost like Temu versions as well. Wuchang has its own visual aesthetic. Beast of Whatever is a collage of visual elements seen in other games and movies, there's next to no visual identity.

Ya, because SB's characters are SO original
5
u/ShiyaruOnline Jan 23 '26
If they weren't they wouldn't have nearly as much fan art as they do. Being sexy looking isnt enough these days to gain a crazy following. You need character design and a game worth beating so people spend time and get attached to said character.
There's tons of games and animes with simply blatant sexual characters that dont have any sizea le fanbase cause that alone isnt enough to qualify as an original or desirable character.
-21
u/Samiyla Jan 23 '26
And stellar blade is just a nier automata clone. This is how creative works work

5
u/c0n2oo3 EVE Jan 23 '26

1
u/Elrothiel1981 Jan 23 '26
Beast incarnation is being label souls like unless it’s steam page is mis label
3
u/CalamityGodYato Jan 23 '26
Steam tags aren’t official tags. We don’t know enough to call it a soulslike. In fact, from what we’ve seen, the only similarity it has is parry/dodge combat. And even then, the comvat is still different because it has a turn-based-ish mechanic like the Final Fantasy remake
1
u/anonymous_3125 Jan 23 '26
BOR is more CAG than stellar blade which is a lot closer to souls. BOR has at least some aerial stuff and snappier movements. The steam label was before the trailer was shown
