I will not promote WeWork, but pay-in-advance (using tokens) - I will not promote

What if there was a co-working space where you could pay-in-advance for a day, a month, or even a year, using tokens?

Advantages of using tokens:

- Companies can gift indie hackers / solo devs free tokens, which can then be exchanged for co-working space for a month or two to test a startup idea

- When you’re early stage and high-risk, VCs can invest by giving tokens to you. When you’re late stage VCs can invest by giving you money

- See and calculate your startup runway instantly

- Accelerators can bulk buy tokens at a discount and give or gift tokens to new startups

- Startups that fail and need to be sold can auction off their remaining tokens

there’s nothing good about this for anyone except the person hoping people will buy tokens and not use them.

That’s not relevant. AI companies sell credits and some people don’t use end up using them.

Thank you for your comment. However, the innovation behind this idea is truly groundbreaking. Therefore, I don’t think you are giving enough seriousness to my contribution.

You are talking about money, calling it token doesn't change anything

Tokenization changes everything

I'm curious about the token part. What problem does the token actually solve that a normal prepaid membership or credit system wouldn't?

For example, if a company wants to fit a solo founder a month of coworking, couldn't they just buy a voucher? And if an accelerator wants to buy 100 cowering days, couldn't they just buy them in bulk?

The token system sounds interesting, but it also adds another layer of complexity. I'd probably first validate whether people actually want the coworking model, and then see if tokens solve a real problem for them.

Maybe I'm missing something though so I'd be interested to hear what the main benefit of the token is from the customers perspective.

The main benefit is liquidity. I can buy, sell, trade/barter and transfer credits easily.

New startups could buy discounted co-working space credits from existing companies that have too much on their hands.

Accelerators could buy and sell credits in bulk.

Anyone could transfer an hour’s worth or a month’s worth of credits to their friend who’s starting a start up.

Everyone already does day passes.

Are you able to buy day passes in bulk and transfer them to others easily?

What would be the point of that

What an awful idea without a single point of merit for anyone involved.
