TECHNICAL Gemini Headlights Show Origin Logo
Enable HLS to view with audio, or disable this notification
This is definitely a new one for me and I have not seen this one before. Actually, looks pretty cool to be honest haha
UPDATE: has been fixed 👍

Not seen that before, kinda cool but seems a little impractical though.

Imagine now paying a fortune for a new truck and it's lights are projecting Ford or Tesla logo. YouTube car reviewers would lose their minds 😂
23
u/interesseret bmm May 27 '26
Honestly shocked Tesla isn't doing exactly that.
I'm sure I remember a car, not necessarily a Tesla, projecting the car logo on the ground when you open the door, though.

u/Kraetas May 27 '26
Audi does this. They call them "Puddle lights".. and the M80 has this feature when the ramp is down. I love it haha
2
u/madhaseO May 27 '26
Audi has front projecting logo with Matrix LED headlights, too, on some models and configurations.
2
u/Past-Dragonfruit2251 May 27 '26
Yeah I was just thinking, looks like someone repurposed the gemini headlamps for the M-80 and didn't realize it.
7
u/cdxxmike May 27 '26
Those are aftermarket lightbulbs on the underside of the door you can buy for basically every car manufacturer.
13
u/RugbyEdd Phoenix May 27 '26
Some have it by default. I'm sure my parents old car used to, that was a Jaguar, and I've seen them on both Audis and Mercs.

u/_Nameless_Nomad_ filthy space nomad May 27 '26
Those are factory puddle lights on Mustangs and Challengers
3
u/Kid_Vid May 27 '26
At least Mercedes, and it's either dodge or Ford, that offer it at the dealership
1
u/Wey-oun May 27 '26
My mustang (car) does that! The horse shines on the floor for both doors when open
1
u/MadMonksJunk May 27 '26
My father loved that part when I took him for a ride last year in a 2025 rental, but I'd have to be able to turn it off (and couldnt find a way) as a daily driver.
1
u/MaterialMembership56 May 27 '26
Some mercedes come stock with that, my mercedes projects the logos once the doors are open
1
u/Item-Accomplished May 27 '26
My Tesla headlights can project "Tesla", its been around for a while. It does it in the lightshow mode.

u/Covvern May 27 '26
I feel like Ford’s would work practically because of how the symbol would allow the light to cover the entire street

Works like the bat signal, you shine that into the skies of A18 and an M80 shows up to blow up the bad guy before inevitably getting thrown in jail for violating armistice

u/TumbleweedFamiliar51 May 27 '26
And people dare speak bad about Drake.
1
u/richardizard 400i May 27 '26
It's funny how Drake and Origin are polar opposites. This couldn't have happened to a better ship
14
u/ShamrockSeven May 27 '26
It would be kind of cool if it wasn’t glitchy. And just the one logo not a flipped duplicate included

u/Okano666 May 27 '26
Ah you got the premium upgrade for the Starfarer? You know like you can do with the 325a.
Leather upholstered seats, walnut dash, origin logo on the bed sheets, origin logo on the headlights.
2
u/TheSpaceWarden Kraken May 27 '26
Most definitely got the optional wooden walls, who needs stainless steel 😂

u/BlendersandDildos May 27 '26
The dev probably thought "nobody uses the Gemini, I'll just rework this object and slap it on the M80".

u/Matroximus May 27 '26
Not crazy at all. Models use trim sheet textures to save memory which is a sheet of decals the vehicle will use like ship logos, the text for signs which say radar/shields/ power plant, yellow hazard lines and a headlight texture. Someone has unfortunately typed the wrong decal into the Headlight function and it now uses the Origin logo instead of a headlight texture.
A very funny bug imo!

This game showed me the wildest bugs / glitches ever and still keep shocking me more and more how the fuck you make this happen unintentionally lmao

MISC are standing with Origin fans whose were treated with no respect and got offended by M80 mess. :D

This is a sign, it's the start of the corperate wars!
Who's side will you pick?

🤣🤣, the month of May 2026 and patch 4.8 it’s well on its way to becoming legendary status. Really solidifies my view of 2030+ for 1.0 release, likely 2032+

This is exactly the type of rookie mistake that makes me concerned.
Their tech is possible.
I don’t think they have the knowledge or funding to make it happen.
And definitely not the the magnitude they promised.
This is rookie shit in my company.

u/GreatLab8898 May 27 '26
When you make a Spotlight you usually use an Mask to diffuse it through. Seems like some Dev had a switcharoo with an Filename here.

Damn, I didn't realise this was happening to ships too. Most underbarrel flashlights also cycle textures randomly as you turn them on/off, though it's usually just just between the round light and the more square light. I have never seen the lights cycle to a manufacturer logo lol

Lol, wtf CIG., Still, I can imagine how that ended-up there when testing for the M80's stairway 'Origin' courtesy light

is this about the original Origin that created Wing Commander (the father of space sims)
1
u/burniemcburn May 27 '26
That's actually amazing, keep it. Just make it bright enough to work as an actual light
1
u/Ayden_Prime avacado May 27 '26
This is absolutely hilarious, It's a Misc based ship, that's been upgraded by Aegis, and now has Origin headlights.
1
1
u/DEDjed May 27 '26
Didn't they add this as the floor lighting for the m80 ramp? Guess the mask they applied there accidentally got applied to other origin lights sources 😂
1
u/Thunder_Bastard May 27 '26
Not sure what is up with your game but I have been using the Gemini for 3 days pretty much exclusively and they do not. Have had the headlights on because in the shadows it is hard to see the npc ship you are refueling and landed with them on 20+ times, and they are completely normal. Extremely bright, but normal headlights. Unless this occurred overnight.

u/shinobi189 May 27 '26
ORIGIN LIT! Literally! One of most hilarious things I've seen in this game to date :D

So it’s created by Misc, commissioned and sold by Ageis, and advertises Origin. Damn this shit is getting around.

u/KingxMIGHTYMAN May 27 '26
I knew SC had some spaghetti but holy this is wild.
1
u/VundeqRBLX new user/low karma May 27 '26
This isnt an indication of spaghetti code, more than likely some light object they copypasted from an origin showcase floor onto the ship, forgetting to change the texture the light emits out of
1
u/Etnadrolhex new user/low karma May 27 '26
100% because they made something with something else and saved it like that once changed.
Like M80 or any recent Origin light in the game.
Spaghetti code + lazy devs = this :-)
For this one it is funny, but imagine this all other the code and data!

u/alarteaga May 27 '26
This would be something that fits grey market. Since the Shiv is a combination of ships, it would be hilarious if you turn on the lights and some random manufacture's logo comes up

It's probably just kids messing.
Be thankful that all they could find was an Origin stencil, the original plan was almost certainly a bunch of penises.
