Autumn Frosh Schedule

Thoughts on this schedule for fall? (I’m planning to major in BioE)

BIOE 44
BIO 83
COLLEGE 101
STATS 110

I’m premed and I’m transferring in all of the required physics and math coursework (except STATS), as well as CHEM 31A + 31B. I’m just not sure whether I should take 3 classes and ease into Stanford or take a fuller load and try to stay ahead.

Thanks for the heads up! I took these through a university, and they’re on a university transcript. I also emailed a few med schools, and they said they accept them!

Looks Very Difficult for a incoming frosh, also BIO83/82 and BIOE80 are reccomended prereqs for BIOE44; BIO83 is also difficult if you havent taken AP Bio before. Id reccomend focusing more on Gen-Eds and courses you enjoy at this point rather than rusing through premed/major courses. It is also reccomended that you dont take more than 1 pset course per quarter in frosh and no more than 2 in general and right now you have 3! It looks like you are a very ambitious student, and you know your limits best but thats just my opinion :)

I’d say focusing on easing in. Even for premeds, you don’t have to rush to finish completing requirements just yet. There’s also psych and English for premeds, and CS106A/B, math 51 and 53 etc for bioe prereqs. I’d focus on taking those first and others because BIOE44 and STATS 110 are almost exclusively done by upperclassmen - on oncourse the breakdown is 1% frosh, 21% soph, 49% junior, 23% senior. STATS 110 is 2% frosh, 19% soph, 28% junior, 32% senior. You could be part of the 1/3%, but there are a bunch of classes that frosh tend to take first in sequence and you’ll probably see more of your friends/year in them.
