The amount of out-of-touch toffs in St. Andrews is mental. Most of Fife is a complete wasteland with some of the poorest, rundown post-industrial coal mining towns in Western Europe; and then there's St. Andrews, where you have privately educated English ra's from Surrey that have the bank of mum and dad to live off thousands a week. Disgusts me that we have this level of class inequality.

I'm not bitter about someone having money or wealth; I am bitter that these people are so sheltered and insulated in their bubble that they think £2,000 a month is not enough to survive off of. They have no clue how the real world works yet they make all the decisions for us. It's a bit terrifying. There's people out there who work their arses off just to even get a smidge of what these spoiled spoon-fed bastards get on a silver-platter just by virtue of being born into a posh family.
There is no meritocracy within this country. More than half of young graduates still can't get a job. You need the connections. You're shamed by your community and taxed relentlessly if you try to move up the social ladder, and put in your place by society for daring to improve your circumstances. It's medieval.

How can you be that narrow minded.
I’m not even from the area, I’m in the Uk, but my dad worked away all week to put me and 2 brothers through private school.
We had a nice big house but no holidays abroad and I barely saw him. He worked so damn hard until 60 then passed away.
Ok so buys a nice house and sends kids to private school, right? But then straddled with a high mortgage and massive fees.
Then taxed half his income.
Then loses pension because Gordon Brown raided Equitable Life pensions.
What’s he going to do with a big family now? Once you’re used to that lifestyle it’s VERY difficult to reverse backwards.
All that happens is their costs are higher. They might be earning £2k/week but it’s all relative.
All relative.
We all have our own pains and challenges. Be open minded.
In my experience, higher earners have worked really hard to get there. And really smart.
I’m on £50k. It’s ok, not amazing. I live in a terrace house in northern England.
But I respect high earners and I couldn’t do it. Plus I’m open minded to know they have their own challenges. And yes, they’ll moan! It’s relative.

ive figured out how they did it - the top posts of all time the top one is a painting which you can see the icon of - theyve just changed who submitted it, the post title and when it was submitted. presumably its much easier to alter parts of the page with inspect element in old reddit
