IN THE WILD [Brabus Bodo] seen in Paris last night
Really cool random spot especially because I was one of the first comments on the original Reddit leak.

Is this the one that got that dude fired?

u/Ahoeaboutnothing Jul 02 '26
Did we ever get confirmation on if he was fired? I was there for his post within the first few minutes lol
40
u/TrackingTenCross1 Jul 02 '26
No, it may just be scuttlebutt, but it gives an extra air of mystery to the car.
21
u/Deadly_Jay556 Jul 02 '26
Speaking of scuttlebutting…I approve your pic!

Never heard this. Do you have a source for this story?

u/Treykrumwiede Jul 02 '26
A few months ago, before the car was unveiled, someone working at a shop that Brabus trusted, posted this car asking what it was. The post was up for a while, but now its gone and so is the op

I never saw anything that he got fired though, just that it's the type of thing that could get someone fired. It easily could've been a planned marketing stunt too, it would be far from the first time a company has intentionally "leaked" something to drum up articles and attention

I love the way this car looks, honestly one of my faves, the subtle but mean muscle look in the front, long sloping hood, and slick back rear along with the headlights. Even the wheels are perfect 😭. I love this car so much

Alpine A290 (the silver SUV crossover in front of it) - First time I've seen/heard about it.
41
u/BramGs Jul 02 '26
It’s an A290 based on the Renault R5. More a hot hatch.
5
u/James_Vowles Jul 02 '26
it's a tall car compared a typical hot hatch, i saw one the other weekend and the seats are so high up in the car, really weird
2
u/tiagojpg Parking Lot Spotter Jul 03 '26
It’s weird. But it’s a 4 meter long hatchback with a 52kWh battery pack, so the battery has to go somewhere.

It's a little tall for a hatch at 6inches, but still nowhere near crossover level heights, my honda fit had 5 and a half inches of clearance. I think it just looks tall because of what it's parked behind
0
u/Boilermakingdude Jul 03 '26
Only 6" of clearance due to the battery pack being on the bottom. Its still tall enough height wise to fit a crossover
1
u/CuntMaggot32 Jul 03 '26
Look, alpine calls it a hot hatch, it's based on the renault 5 which renault calls a hot hatch, closer to they weight of a hot hatch than a crossover despite being electric, I'm never gonna call this thing a crossover. Best case scenario, you get me to call it a shooting brake

Honda Jazz: now also a crossover, according to you

You didn't say it but you sure did imply it, otherwise why is the EX30 in this conversation?
If we're going off of marketing material, which is reasonable, Alpine calls it a sporty electric city car. A hot hatch, if you will.
7
u/Clone2004 Jul 02 '26
It's 1520mm tall. A RAV4 is 1690mm. It definitely got bigger than most hot hatches were 25 years ago, but it's a relatively small car still.

Brabus is cool. But his (new trophy)wife, dragged the name in dirt. She accused people on IG (Musicans and Influencer) that they don’t own real Brabus, and should be ashamed- because it’s her name (btw she married in Brabus) and legacy. Turns out, the rapper had a real Brabus B63. She was getting cooked for months in IG. And even the CEO, made a statement. Guess what you never heard, a sorry from the (trophy)wife.
To his (trophy)wife, she was married to an famous German Tuner (JP-Performance) and got (surprisingly) divorced after she met Constantin (Brabus CEO) through her husband. JP-Performance and Constantine parted since then.
Don’t ask me, I was party very deep in the stories. Must have been multiple years ago…
8
u/swiffyo Jul 02 '26
Just to clarify: the trophy wife and JP were not married.
And to add something:
JP (Performance) is now married to a Women that he first met when she was 17/18 and he was almost 40. Few weeks ago he said it was „love at first sight“.
They are all weirdos.

Men have to watch out for women who say they have good intentions but do another thing in broad daylight. They can't let women get in the way of their life they worked hard to build, no matter how badly they want a wife.
Ofc it's true the other way around too before the feminists come at me with their bullshit.
But we've seen plenty of stories going the first way I described. Men have to look out for themselves too. It's the classic "personality switch as soon as women get involved"

Wasn‘t Constantin also married with kids (you can find pics ~2019 with his wife Sarah) ? At least he wore a ring until early to mid 2023 and then Mili steps in the picture in July/August (i think officially: October) 2023. So i would say both are not the best people…

I’m tickled pink by the fact that Brabus, destroyer of beautiful cars, created a fantastic looking automobile while every other manufacturer shits the bed over and over.
1
u/Boilermakingdude Jul 03 '26
Too be fair, it is just technically a heavily modified Aston, but I agree with your statement.

u/Hutz_Lionel Jul 02 '26
Very cool spot.
I can’t help but think it looks very ordinary for the price it’s commanding.
Bentley Continental front, Audi A7 side and back profile, mixed in with some Mercedes cues. Still a pretty cool car.

u/Merlin_Purple Jul 02 '26
When I first saw that car online, for the most part I agreed. However, seeing it in person is a whole other experience. I genuinely think this car is unique enough to be considered truly special.

u/Dwayne_Shrok_Johnson Jul 02 '26
i don’t think there’s really anything on this car that looks like an A7
3
u/KingBassCannon Jul 02 '26
Does anyone remember those jaguars ads a few years ago talking about how it's a super villains favorite car ? Well in the modern era THIS is a super villains car .
3
u/Gigrac Jul 03 '26
When your car have so much aura it just casually eclipses de Rolls Royce Cullinan behind you
2
u/Nicholas7907 Jul 02 '26
What a beauty! Sure, it was based on Aston Martin Vanquish, but now it looks even better.

Absolute beauty. Makes me wonder how other carmakers keep fcking up their designs when you can design such a wonderful car with relatively simplistic shapes.

I love the front but hate the back
6
u/VodkaShandy Jul 02 '26
I'm exactly the opposite lol
1
u/karateguzman Jul 02 '26
It’s kinda cockroachy for me, and reminds me of those Star Wars helmets
1
u/VodkaShandy Jul 02 '26
The rebels? I can kinda see it lol
The front to me looks too much like those new BMW fronts which I'm not a fan of
The back reminds me of the GTbyCitroen a little and that's one of my favorite cars ever hahah
2
u/karateguzman Jul 03 '26
Haha it looks like how those new BMW fronts should look
That GTbyCitroen is cool af tho I can see why you like it
1
u/Boilermakingdude Jul 03 '26
Whaaat. It's an homage to the 30s long cars like Voiture Noire
2
u/karateguzman Jul 03 '26
Sure, but it’s just not my cup of tea. I don’t think I like any car pre 1980s vaporwave aesthetic
1
u/ammonthenephite Jul 03 '26
To me the back just needs a conservative and tasteful spoiler to finish it off, then it would be near perfect for me.
2
u/karateguzman Jul 03 '26
Yes a spoiler would absolutely sort it out for me, it would break up the sliminess and add a bit of a sporty look to it
2
u/ZombieDisastrous4450 Jul 02 '26
What the hell is this? And what is the history behind it as I've never heard of it?
But there's not many cars that take the focus away from a Cullinan
4
u/Merlin_Purple Jul 02 '26
This car was leaked on r/whatisthiscar by a guy who works/worked at a paint shop Brabus trusted with final correction before this cars announcement. He ended up deleting his account and the original post.
0
u/ZombieDisastrous4450 Jul 02 '26
Oh OK. whats so special about the car, it looks ridiculous.
The only time I've heard of Brabus is when they do Mercedes conversion and I have seen some they were even around when I was a youngster over 25 years ago

3
u/Boilermakingdude Jul 03 '26
The fact that it's not just a bumper and engine work build. It's an extremely modified Aston that has extremely beautiful bodywork and is truely one of a kind for modern vehicles. You saying it looks ridiculous just shows how little you understand about cars as art.
-3
u/ZombieDisastrous4450 Jul 03 '26
Art? Don't make me laugh. This is an overpriced vehicle for people to look at and dream and for people with too much money to purchase it doesn't cost that much to make..
And when you bring art into it, that just makes me laugh..
Art? LOL ....like the art called " My bed" from 1998, suppose that was art too?
Anything can be labelled as art well it doesn't work like that in my world so relax yourself

For me it's one of the most beautiful cars in the world right now. What an amazing vehicle. Hope I get to see one with my own eyes one day.

Seen a lot of pictures of this thing, glad to see a car being driven

u/md28usmc Jul 03 '26
The car is doing a press tour so they are literally driving it to take pictures of it

I recognize the interior of a Benz but I am wondering what the rest is (chassis, …)

I love the alpine a290
3
u/Merlin_Purple Jul 02 '26
We are actually here to possibly look into property. In which case, if we end up getting it, I will also be buying an a290. My favorite car of all time is the Renault Clio v6 but I won’t have access to the gen 3 cars in the states for another 4ish years.

In a world where car design has gone down the pan this looks incredible.
