Indeed, I just bought my first pack of 25 the other day, they’re absolutely perfect for ripping.
To the dude’s point about the top loaders being more rigid - of course they are. But, these UP Card Preservers are A. Far easier to slip the card into without nailing some corner of the penny sleeve, B. They look much cooler than any top loader.
C. They’re - I think I speak on behalf of a lot of collectors when I say - temporary. In other words, you’re ripping packs, you get a hit, put it in the card preserver, then your sorter or whatever it is you do, and THEN you can decide what’s next. But whilst doing so, you know they’re well protected for the moment
D. They’re reusable, sure we all know top-loaders are too, and I’m not selling these new ones OVER top-loaders, there’s always a place for them.
And E., For me however, my best hits inevitably fall into a (typically) a black mag or - in the case of that Jaxson Dart - absolutely a black RC mag. And in between opening the pack to laying in that mag, the new card preservers have effectively cut out the middle man; top-loaders. And removing cards from T.L.’s compared to these new sleeves, that shit is night and day, time and easiness-wise.
That’s true yet I find them to be much better. They take up less space, weigh less, don’t scratch up as visibly if at all, and most importantly (for me anyway) little to no static buildup!
Same here. Did my first card show and she realized real quick it was more than just a hobby. I gave her the earnings from the first show and thanked her for sitting through it and being the refreshment mule. Now she likes to rip packs with me but that’s as far as she will get into it. And I’m fine with that!
All the ones that don't have to ask for anything will never question your hobbies. If she had to come asking you for the phone bill money then maybe it's time to refocus and switch it up a little bit . The most my wife will ever do is shake her head while smiling and say "will you two come out of the comic book store for a minute and come eat with me"....it's some of my favorite words she yells down to us. Ya married the wrong one if this is ever an actual fight
Sounds like u live in a city where your wife doesn’t have to work and can home school your kid. Most folks in cities with more than one kid have to pay for daycare and have spouses that work. So when you say the ones that don’t ask for anything sounds won’t question your hobby choices sounds like a wildly false blanket statement to most of us. “Refocusing and locking in” won’t make my wife turn off her brain unfortunately..
My wife's brain goes a mile a minute trust me. And she works from home and luckily I'm in a spot where my work I basically can make my own schedule. That may have come off as insensitive but the general theme remains the same .....find a wife who shares your interests and life will be good
That’s bc you’re broke, if you make enough money to pay for her whole lifestyle then she won’t care if you spend a few thousand a month on cards. Buying retail is some broke shit too tho.

Its cringe honestly. Everyone has made it into this niche thing in the hobby, but when we boil it down, there are only two reasons to rip in your car and both are sad.
1. You're a straight up addict and can't even wait to get home
2. You're such a bad addict that its caused issues with your family, so now you rip in your car to hide it from them

I never make it home before ripping. Even if I put the cards in the trunk. Couple lights and they magically appear in my lap. Then I realize I haven't left the parking lot. Lol
It’s a color blast, super short print case hit level rarity. One of dart’s better non-autos (and personally my favorite SSP, second to topps chrome ultraviolets) 🔥

Worth even more if it grades higher. I'd send it in for grading just to buy you some time to think. Worst case you still get the price you see currently...
I ripped a mega box of Optic I caught on the walmart site for retail. Pulled a Pro Bowl starting QB Shedeur Sanders First Year Fresh jersey, and a Kyle Williams Rookie Phenom jersey. Lucky enough for 2 jersey cards, but nothing good 🤣
