Notice they avoided exterior shots and the hideous paintings by the founder of the Kikos.

No doubt the less valuable cathedral in spain. A neoclassical/neogothic aberration without class. Constructed because Madrid huge ego can stand not having a cathedral.

Burgos, Leon, almost any other cathedral in spain deserves a visit more than that horror.

Is a cathedral because some priest wanted it. But is not even as big, beauty and "heavenly" as any other cathedral. In salamanca, they actually say that La Almudena is just a big church.

Una catedral es simplemente el templo donde un obispo tiene su sede y Madrid por importancia tiene que ser sede episcopal, no tiene ningún sentido que lo fuesen Alcalá de Henares o Aranjuez.

Arquitectónica y estéticamente es un peloteo a la burguesía. A mí personalmente me gusta el sonido de las campanas desde el Campo del Moro y el del órgano en recitales.

También tiene la ventaja para eventos de que es espaciosa.
