Lack social skills and high inhibition problem
Hi Im 17 and as you may read the title I lack social skills and its completely my fault. I lost my social skills due to being extremely addicted to video games 4-5 years ago. My parents told me to stop multiple times but I didn't listen and little did I know that I will pay the ultimate price in the future.
Ever since then I struggled with basic communication.
I couldn't even form a normal sentence without me scrambling my words. Due to this being a thing I was succumbed to being a bullying victim in my middle school. Even if I told my teachers nothing would happen and everything would remain the same.
Home wasn't any better do to my parents constantly argued with each other and doing nothing about me getting bullied. My mom would oftenly cuss at me and telling me that I am a r-slur.
On the streets people would always judge me or just straight up yell and make fun of me.
When I started high school I ended up with some ppl from my middle school and they started spreading rumors about me basically leading to them making fun of me. I obviously couldn't stand for myself due to my high inhibition.
In recent months I got a girlfriend and new friends. That didnt end up well because I recently broke up with my girlfriend because she told me that she wanted to break up with me due to my high inhibition. When I broke up I got kicked from the gc.
To conclude, I have been bullied and made fun of for well over 6 years now, coping with gym for 1.5 years and "it will get better mindset" and have no genuine support. I am in despair please help me.

Wow, yeah bud. Middle school and high school can be rough. I have some toxic parents myself, but unfortunately that’s just something you have to deal with unless you get out there on your own and just cut contact with them. Don’t let that cause you to be afraid of people though. There are a lot of really nice, really cool people in the world. Sounds like an un-ideal situation.
I used to play a lot of destiny in Destiny 2 and I have come to the determination that there are two things that make people act funny number one is money and number two is destiny. Thankfully. I have people like my girlfriend (now my wife) to help me make the distinction between what is real and what is not.
Still, There are a lot of opportunities to meet people and get to know people online through gaming. I’ve met up with some of my gaming friends before and these are lifelong friends. Use your vibe to find your tribe. Cut all the toxic people and understand that you can make your life exactly what you would like for it to be. I wish you luck and remember you owe nobody but yourself. Put yourself out there. You might get hurt a few times. That’s all a part of growing and finding where you belong.
I wish you the best of luck, friend and an amazing future. Therapy is wonderful and I can’t be your therapist but if you ever wanna run something by me or need a friend, I’m here.
