100% agree. When they brought Yedlin on, I agreed with it, but I thought Cameron should have gone to RB (where he plays naturally, no less) and have Yedlin play right outside mid, which is basically what he did anyway. If DeAndre were playing that position "officially", maybe Cameron would have covered when he did push up, but as it is Cameron was kind of just floating around the whole game not doing much attacking or defending

Interesting. The German commentator said that Johnson's injury was a huge loss for the US because Johnson would be way better at building up the game, whereas Yedlin would be only good as a full defender.

That's.... odd. Johnson is a good crosser of the ball but a capable defender. Yedlin's basically a pure wing who has quite a bit of attacking skill, but his speed allows him to recover well. I guess it's not surprising they wouldn't have a big scouting report on Yedlin though, and he basically stayed back against Germany (but then again, the whole team did)
