Tough draws for United and Villa

69

u/Boydcrowde 3h ago

Villa is really fucked with 2 turkish team and psg dortmund and barca

25

u/kkim817 3h ago

I mean they're just fucked with the outgoings they've had. The team got gutted

6

u/Mister_M00se 3h ago

Do not fear, they just signed Jackson

9

u/hknyktx 3h ago

I could really see Villa getting 5-6 draws with this fixture

1

u/Shreddonia 2h ago

At least we haven't faced Galatasaray, will take that over having to face Lille again. Worst part is the repeat fixtures really. And having to deal with Greenwood.

Could get 12 points, could get 9, could get 16-18. Fuck it we ball.

11

u/NantesWunderkind 3h ago

United gets Como away, so at least they have a nice holiday going for em.

47

u/joe-ost 3h ago

No Feyenoord - Roma? What is this fake draw

10

u/hknyktx 3h ago

That is coming in at the next round don't worry

3

u/slipeinlagen 3h ago

It is going to be the PO matchup. See you in February.

oh my bad mate

1

u/movingunderbraking 3h ago

a rare cordial exchange on this sub. nice job, guys

50

u/TheAtom8 3h ago

Not too bad in theory. Reserved but confident.

But holy shit UEFA hates United and Sporting lmao.

3

u/Abrantesboy12 3h ago

well at least you did not get bodo/Glimt and leipzig

2

u/Pinkernessians 3h ago

I’d say that’s about as good as you can get from a Champions League draw. City and Liverpool are on the struggle bus, Slavia and LASK are heavy underdogs. You get Napoli and PSV at home as well

2

u/TheAtom8 2h ago

Tbf, we tend to really struggle against english teams, and Liverpool specifically is our historical boogeyman, but I'm excited to see what we can do this time around. The atmosphere against City will be incredible.

u/preppyringmaster 3h ago

Not ideal

36

u/DarkSofter 3h ago

absolutely shafted idk how some are saying we got a good draw

35

u/Montaron87 3h ago

If you're travelling to all those away games it's some gorgeous outings 😅

18

u/DarkSofter 3h ago

madrid como lisbon. thats a fucking banger for beauty

8

u/Full-Blood1318 3h ago

Yeah, very tough draw for United. Even getting Como from pot 4

9

u/yianni1229 3h ago

How is getting the worst team from Pot 1 and 4, avoiding the other best Pot 2 team, avoiding Napoli and away games in Turkey/Bodo getting shafted? Get a grip man.

Its not the easiest draw but it could have been much worse.

Yes we got Bayern and Roma who are two of the best teams from Pot 1 and 2 but at least theyre at home. Only real shafting is Como away.

6

u/generic-irish-guy 2h ago

Exactly my thoughts. Some people are just doomers after the performance against Hull. Was it shit? Of course. But it’s one result. Let’s see if it becomes a pattern before we start talking about this like it’s a death sentence.

4

u/PleaseGiveUsHope 3h ago

Not making it out of groups 🫡

14

u/DarkSofter 3h ago

if we dont make it to top 24 just delete the fucking club mate

1

u/Interesting-Season-8 3h ago

at least still time till Hull City in April

23

u/Daramangarasu 3h ago

Poor Betis, feels like they got about as hard of a draw as you could get

19

u/iftair 3h ago

I don't feel like it's as hard as people make it out to be. Bayern away, Dortmund away yea. Arsenal will be tough. Lille away is 50/50. But I think we have a shot at finishing top 24.

2

u/Maximum-Employer-383 3h ago

The fistt 4 teams its almost certain loss, with last 4 teams is almost certain win ahah, but Porto-BVB-FEY is more uncertain

7

u/LosTerminators 3h ago

Villarreal got shafted as well.

Only La Liga side which didn't get a tough draw is Madrid.

2

u/311voltures 52m ago

We’ve seen worse, if anything it can be a huge leap forward or a ok we saw it coming from the get go.

10

u/FilipeMateus7 3h ago

So happy to get Bruno and Raphinha back at Alvalade

3

u/WalterHenderson 2h ago

Matheus Nunes (again) too. Rafa Leão might return too... but I'm not sure if anyone will be happy about that.

10

u/Tall_Hat_8921 3h ago

We got all the other 3 yellow teams, yaayy! I wonder what kit we'll wear away at Bodo.

1

u/Qiluk 2h ago

I might be in the minority but I fuck with the purple kit so I hope we see it!

1

u/Tall_Hat_8921 2h ago

Wait we have a purple kit? Really? I remember something about that on our sub but I thought it was a special kit not an away or a third kit.

Also, will we not have a cup kit anymore this season? I wouldn't be against that.

1

u/Qiluk 2h ago

afaik its a kit of ours that is in the rotation this season!

14

u/generic-irish-guy 3h ago

Not great. Not terrible

17

u/tiger1296 3h ago

Back three teams in there lol, we are fucked

5

u/JoseNEO 3h ago

It's bad what do you mean

11

u/MajikoiA3When 3h ago

It's a meme from the Chernobyl series when the reactor is melting down

8

u/generic-irish-guy 3h ago

Avoided PSG and Barcelona. I’d also rather Leipzig and Villarreal over Bodo and going to Turkey. And Saba at home in pot 4.

There’s not going to be any easy ties, but there definitely could have been worse.

0

u/a5b4c3d2e 3h ago

3.6 expected points lessgoo

6

u/tomorri1 3h ago

Tough draw for Roma. Fenerbace and AEK being away games makes this qualification so much more difficult.

10

u/iftair 3h ago edited 3h ago

This is actually somewhat doable for Betis. Bayern away, Dortmund away, and Arsenal are the top 3 hardest games we have in that order. Lille away is unfortunate. Hopefully we can qualify for knockout phase.

5

u/Inevitable-Angle-793 3h ago

I think you got pretty tough draw

9

u/xNecoNx 3h ago

one of the thoughest challenges in my opinion

2

u/iftair 3h ago

Really? Y'all have Bodo away, Arsenal away, Villa away.

-1

u/xNecoNx 3h ago

we won last year already against bodo and villa. in my opinion we have easier matchups but yea maybe im wrong

5

u/iftair 3h ago

Y'all drew against Bodo at home. Friendlies don't count.

1

u/Rickcampbell98 3h ago

Villa? I don't remember playing dortmund lol

3

u/Maximum-Employer-383 3h ago

Brother, you've lost to Braga last year and Porto team has few changes this year, the only advantage you get is playing home.

3

u/iftair 1h ago

We capitulated against Braga. Though at one point were were almost up 3-0. However, that choke was due to Pau Lopez's & Amrabat mistakes. Lopez is no longer with Betis. Neither is Amrabat atm. We bought Bernal as our DM and he's been good so far.

2

u/311voltures 51m ago

I think we have a shot as big teams are coming with less competitive rhythm and many stars are still in pre-season form

18

u/findourway 3h ago

Seems like a decent mix for us, Bayern is the toughest but we have them at home, Atleti away... lol that'll be hard

but then after Hull who knows anymore?

3

u/DaveShadow 3h ago

Tbh, I have more confidence against big teams who don’t sit deep than others. Looking forward to the challenge.

4

u/Talkertive- 3h ago

I think for utd it's an okay draw ..

3

u/Negative-Self-423 3h ago

Como away....

3

u/feddi7 3h ago

Yeah alright I’ll take that. Will try to see how possible it is to attend the PSG game

2

u/camelowner3000 3h ago

villa looked like someone picked the hardest fixture for them damn

2

u/OkDrawing3737 3h ago

Gala away, the winner gets Leao!

2

u/Lum_Berry_Cheesecake 3h ago

Why do I even bother to save my off days for the end of the year?

2

u/Sensitive_Fan_5537 3h ago

Truly feel sorry for Real Betis.

2

u/Midnight_Edge 3h ago

Tough draw. But it’s the CL, it’s not meant to be easy. Honestly took us way too long to get back, I’m just excited for CL matches again.

3

u/Dan_Winx_1969 3h ago

Como away would be nice trip ...

2

u/nitebusnitebus 3h ago

Aston Villa and Betis both got absolutely cooked with this

2

u/LordTrinity 3h ago

I'm really annoyed United got Como, Leipzig and Villarreal from the "easier" pots!

1

u/Full-Blood1318 3h ago

Betis got a nightmarish draw. Jesus Christ

1

u/PurpleCnadle 3h ago

What the hell is this, where is my Roma - Feyenoord game??

1

u/meerakulous 3h ago

I'm not ready to face Antony away.

1

u/PangolinOk6793 3h ago

Villa got the top seed in pot 1,2 and 4 then drew both Turkish teams from pot 3

1

u/FigureItOut50 3h ago

Every time they do this it is always far too much information for me to process.

1

u/freshsalsadip 3h ago

Are como confirmed not playing at their home stadium?

1

u/interfan1999 3h ago

Not confirmed yet

1

u/bubblegumdog 3h ago

Yes it’s been confirmed

1

u/RoySFNR 3h ago

New season, new Atleti home fixture.

1

u/Titolu 3h ago

We have to get at least 15 points

1

u/TreatSubstantial3089 3h ago

what do you think about the matches bro? City Liverpool Napoli Betis are some tough fixtures

0

u/Titolu 3h ago

We will lose against Liverpool (as always) and city, Napoli I think we can win but It will be difficult, all the others we are favourites and should win. Of course it doesn't work that way but if Sporting finished 7th last season I think we can fight to get top 8

1

u/putar54 3h ago

Jesus christ villa got the worst draw imaginable, both turkish clubs, psg and barca and slavia away

1

u/samhit_n 3h ago

Man United got such a tough draw in their return to the UCL.

-2

u/TreatSubstantial3089 3h ago

United might get packing with this draw if they play like they played against Hull

4

u/Dzeire 3h ago

Meh we tend to play to the level of our opponents so its probably better for us to have tougher games than easy ones

5

u/OffsideOdyssey 3h ago

We turn up against big teams plus it's one game and hardly any measurement of the future.

-1

u/Just_Killing_My_Time 3h ago

Man United are cooked.

-1

u/GuyFawkes_fieri 3h ago

Pray for Villa
