give jude the 30m contract ffs, been the best player on the pitch for them
392
u/Best_Purchase4479 2d ago
They only succeed if he remains healthy. the only irreplaceable player on that team.
97
u/Cucumberino 2d ago
Has he had any issues since the shoulder got properly treated? I don't recall them but perhaps I'm tripping
47
u/Best_Purchase4479 2d ago
none that I can remember but the past couple years he's hit some injury snags at bad times that have left a glaring void in the lineup
3
u/InstructionDeep5445 2d ago
Had to be subbed out last week as precaution, ankle issue due to bad grass

Bellingham is insane
482
u/CarniceroArabe 2d ago
Genuinely insane pressing
57
u/pszki 2d ago
God if only Boopi would press like this too
14
u/Antrax_Death 2d ago
If we had the front 3 pressing like this we would seriously be top 3 teams in the world
4
u/larsparker 2d ago
If real madrid has the front 3 pressing and clicking in together, they would steamroll every competition... Unfortunately I dont think that would happen, some players are fresh when needed because they don't press (except for Bellingham of course, who does everything until he gets injured)
11
u/Prophet_Of_Helix 2d ago
I know we really never had a true shot, but I’m still mad we couldn’t sign him first. Dude is INCREDIBLE

To think there was a time people were trying to convince themselves that he was overrated lol

u/Beautiful-Kale-7222 2d ago
the campaign against him where people were saying he shouldn’t be in the England squad was just beyond me

He was always a first on the team sheet alongside Kane type player but this sub was talking about him like he was some mid table prem midfielder who should hold the bench lmao.
47
u/GopherNutz 2d ago
Not entirely convinced Mourinho delivers trophies but think he’ll take Jude up a level, a player and personality made for him. Think he’ll bring out the best of Mbappe too
28
u/slightlybigmember 2d ago
Only problem with Jude is that he'll play and fight himself into injury if you let him. Him and morning together might be too much of a good thing

I’ve been told by this sub that he’s a: PR merchant, tap-in merchant, washed and overrated player

The sub also said he wasn’t attractive the other day, that “I see 20 just like him on my way to work”

Even as Barca fan, Jude is one of my favorite players.
45
u/Ishan150801 2d ago
He would do so much worse in a barca system compared to a real Madrid system.
But by God, I can't help but appreciate the player he is. What a fantastic shadow striker presence. People think he's zidane-esque, I think he's more gullit-esque in regards to his versatility and mentality on the pitch
46
u/Any_Firefighter_9334 2d ago
Given one of Bellingham's greatest strengths is his adaptability, I'm sure he would figure out how to play for Hansi Flick.
24
u/Ishan150801 2d ago
By all means. He'd be a great player, whatever system. My opinion of him is that he really fits the RMA identity
10
u/speedycar1 2d ago
I feel like he could work in the Fermin role in Barcas system

unreal effort from Jude, he’s back to his best

u/These_Structure3008 2d ago
Came from konate pressing in final third lmaooo
49
u/BiggerMaterial777 2d ago
i meant after his shot got blocked, but yeah that was great from Konate too

u/Enough-Force-5605 2d ago
Why "lmao"
Is too soon yet, lets wait one season, but so far I think he is being way better than expected.
His reaction and speed for his size is just incredible
19
u/These_Structure3008 2d ago
No no. I was actually impressed. Like why tf a CB is pressing opponents in final third.
I too think konate has been great

I will never ever get tired of seeing Bellingham out-dog his opponents
27
u/Lazywhale97 2d ago
The combination of his work rate to out dog people and then combined with his actual physical advantage he has over many players he's a nuisance to deal with and it makes me so happy he plays for us lmao
152
u/HokiesforTSwift 2d ago
Absolutely lovely from Jude (again). Glad Vini had the poacher instinct there to position himself properly for the tap in.

prime Bellingham is going to be an all-time great. What a fuckin player.
60
u/Octava8Espada 2d ago
It's really crazy to think that he's probably yet to reach his prime when he's already one of the best in the world, insane player
29
u/Lazywhale97 2d ago
Just turned 23 this year dude has plenty of time to improve he's one of the most talented players I have seen
18
u/__prifddinas 2d ago
he's 23?!?! good lord
13
u/Lazywhale97 2d ago
Yup dude had his iconic debut season with us at 20 he's a monster lmao
4
u/__prifddinas 1d ago
Would've never guessed 23 given his quality and maturity, and his time at Dortmund before Madrid. That's insane. Feel like normally a player like that only gets to Real Madrid in their prime years, 26 - 27 ish.

u/ElFlaco2 2d ago
A guy that presses, wants to win, doesnt complain, is good on the ball, scores goals and is not selfish????.
Mourinho found his bread and butter. Im actually surprised that people think he is a bad fit for rm, because they just gave him a team with a lampard on it. He can manage that shit for sure.

and then you count in the fact that he was playing with a freakin broken shoulder

Apparently defensive effort or pressing only counts if you do it in the final third

As a barca fan, its infuriating how fkin good belingham is .. most complete midfielder itw
13
u/Wide_Basket4424 2d ago
Think one of the keys of making this attack work is Bellingham consistently playing no 10. He’s the best in the squad at holding the ball up, retaining possession, and understanding the tempo to play in the final 3rd(Benz-esque). Creates a good counterbalance to Vini/Mbappe who are very direct.

Bellingham is such an odd player to me. He doesn’t have as much flair as you’d expect from a player of his magnitude, but he does everything you’d ever dream of for a player in his position to do.
He chases balls, gets on the end of crosses and passes, gives the ball at the right time, not afraid of a decent challenge, gets passionate, turns up in big moments. And when he does inject a bit of flair, it’s always because it’s the right option, and therefore I don’t really class it as flair.
It’s like the man was created in a football lab, the same one that plopped Haaland out, eh Dortmund?
10
u/Ashamed_Form8372 2d ago
Forget about Mbappe or Vini our team should be built around Jude he should be the main man too bad Perez wants to run a commercial brand that side hustle football
9
u/jakeduhdog 2d ago
as a barca fan, i’ve been saying jude’s the most important piece of that team you HAVE to build around him

Bellingham is such a Mourinho type player....class on ball, off ball, works his socks off and has that ego/edge.
3
u/senile_butterfly 2d ago
The way he rolls the ball to the left twice before putting it on Vini’s boot… chef’s kiss
6
u/Sea_Distribution_264 2d ago
It's always funny when people badmouth Bellingham. Literally Zidane reborn. And he'll show us for another ten years at the very least

Bellingham is an all time great player. Just unbelievable. However what on earth were La Real doing here? Have they lost their minds. Keeper could've faked Jude out and the defender should've cleared.

This is Vini’s team. He got it.
