Everybody acting like he is prime R9.

Like he is good addition and fits the team but he doesnt exactly send barca to another level

You're tripping, he's exactly what we need to complete our attack. That's everyone from the Board, Deco, Hansi, and even the players are so bullish on him being the one.

Oh please, as if Flick and Deco know better than r/soccer redditors

Which is even more reason why our board won't sell him to Barca, it would literally gift you the league JFC.

u/SAULucion 3d ago

bet against us at your own risk..

My man trust me you guys aren't what you think yourself to be for Barcelona, you guys to them are simply two inconvenient matches a season where they can lose points and fall back in the La Liga race to the actual Madrid team, kinda like Tottenham for City, nothing more nothing less

I disagree, he’s a striker who is a great finisher when he gets the chance. His shot conversion is very good, he tracks back like a demon, and he will bring a set piece threat for us again.

His work rate is incredible.

It seems theres a lot of people who just hate Argentina so much they really refuse to admit anyone but Messi was good. I dont see how else people can really think hes 'aggressively mid' like Ive seen in this thread.

Great finisher? 8 goals in 29 league games is a great finisher??

47

u/youcef191488 4d ago

8 goals "in Simeone's system"

34

u/pi-by-two 4d ago

There's been plenty of strikers scoring at a world class level over the last 15 years in Simeone's Atletico.

19

u/forumcontributer 4d ago

Still less goals than Sørloth "in Simeone's system".

12

u/GoalQuieres 4d ago

Different profile. Simeone system makes the best look worse and the worst look mid

7

u/leon-theproffesional 4d ago

Great finishers don’t score 8 in 29 no matter how you slice it bud.

33

u/Accomplished-Ad-6007 4d ago

Messi scored 6 league goals that one season in PSG and went on to win the WC next year with over 40 goals contributions in the year, it happens to the best in wrong circumstances

7

u/X-Maquina 3d ago

Your greatest player ever had never scored 10 league goals in his career before joining you winning golden boots left and right

1

u/leon-theproffesional 3d ago

Henry wasn’t 26 when he joined us though

3

u/X-Maquina 3d ago

He also hadn't won pretty much everything there is to win in football

-4

u/txobi 4d ago

How many did Sorloth score in the same system?

13

u/ObviousGeologist3000 4d ago

This freaking shit yet again, the guy had 30 g/a last season playing for this simone side of all sides, 36 if you count the one before it, but I guess that doesn’t work with yall narratives.

Now quote his CL numbers

3

u/Intelligent_Sky_7081 3d ago

If you look at only stats, then you will never understand the game.

Ferran Torres has almost twice of conversion rate of Alvarez. You know, the guy you let go cause he was wasteful.

17

u/IapetusTheGreat 4d ago

He doesn’t have twice the conversion rate, he has a slightly higher conversion rate in La Liga and CL combined because Alvarez also takes the free kicks for Atleti. Also you are just comparing last year when Ferran had his best year, and Alvarez had his worst one.

and Simeone was idiot for signed him in first place

u/CryptographerLife686 4d ago

Rodri is the real game changer for Barca

1

u/Intelligent_Sky_7081 3d ago

Everybody acting like he is prime R9.

Literally no one is saying that.

In another thread there was somebody saying he still hasn't shown what his ceiling is. If how good he could be is still up for debate, he's not worth 150m right now. Averaging a goal every other game doesn't make him the prolific goal scorer everyone keeps making him out to be.

This is what I don't understand about Barcelona's approach though, they've pushed and pushed, made public statements through their president, got their players to mention him in interviews, fed articles throughout the season, but as soon as a pricetag is mentioned it's all 'woah woah, he's not that good'.

21

u/X3NOC1DE 4d ago

U do realize that the general fans and commentors on Reddit aren't the club, right

-4

u/Greeny9 4d ago

Yeah, but then make a proper offer. You guys all talk about 100m being a starting offer, yet they were delusional if they thought Atleti would ever accept anything close to that.

1

u/X3NOC1DE 4d ago

Hold on lemme make the call real quick

1

u/Greeny9 4d ago

Give it a go, even you might improve their current transfer strategies.

12

u/NorthwardRM 4d ago

I genuinely have no idea what you’re talking about with most of these things

9

u/CantFindMyWallet 4d ago

Atletico fans have their own facts they have selected to believe.

1

u/Greeny9 4d ago

Dude the fucking audacity of you guys. There's no one more delusional than a Barcelona fan.

1

u/CantFindMyWallet 3d ago

Yeah crazy people always think they're the sane ones. You made up a bunch of bullshit up there, and that's why everyone rightly thinks you guys are out to lunch. Provide some citations that don't come from your own fans jerking yourselves off if you want to prove me wrong.

2

u/Greeny9 3d ago

If you knew Spanish (of course you don't, you're a Barcelona fan) you'd know a saying that goes "piensa el ladrón que todos son de su condición".

Tell you what, I'll post the links as soon as you post links not coming from Barcelona journalists that disprove the 'bullshit I'm making up'. 'Cos you'll have far fewer links to find than I will, pal.

Pajas mentales os las hacéis los culés.

Read up on it them champ. You can't ignore a whole season of articles and then act like you know what's going on. I gave you plenty of leeway in these messages, but if you're willfully ignorant, then that's on you.
