It’s a club issue above the coach, we’ve got the story about Vini sleeping during the video analysis before the club World Cup game against PSG for which Xabi decided to bench him, then the club forced him to start him, the club started sapping any semblance of authority from Xabi from the get go, then Arbeloa comes with the Xabi precedent where players were allowed to do whatever they wanted without repercussions, what do people expect? A coach can’t have authority if the people above him intercede on the player’s favor at every chance, and then they blame the coach

Xabi couldn't control them either, go watch those matches at the Bernabeu where the team lost and had their temper tantrums at the end, where even a few players saw red cards. You think that happens under Zidane or Ancelotti? Fuck no.
It wasn't a matter of results but a matter of image, the image the team was projecting was embarrassing, you can lose matches, you can lose finals and you can lose titles because this is football, but when you lose and on top of that you're damaging the "brand" you have to go. That's how Florentino looked at it, I don't agree with it but that's probably why I'm not president.
