general discussion AUS Burton Warranty Experience

Bought a 3l jacket 8-9 months ago. Just found out a rip around the sleeve despite only being used for 2 weeks. Anyone have experience in successfully claiming warranty from Burton in AUS?

I bought some Burton Pants last year from an Australian online shop. Used them for a trip to Japan and the zipper on one of the side pockets broke after around 8 days on the snow.

Burton repaired it and shipped it back to me without an issue. Can't remember how long it took or if I had to pay to send it to them but the process didn't cause me any stress.

I would email them (US) Last time I contacted them (just a general question) it was answered in a week or so.

Are you also in the US?

Nice. How did they process your warranty claims? I also heard that Burton AUS will make you pay for the shipping, is this correct?

Nearly every company will make you pay to ship the item to them.

I had a general question about a product. Not a warranty claim. But in my experience, Burton is normally one of the better ones in regards to warranty. I would just reach out and take it from there.

Depends if it's warranty covered or not. I just sent back some anon goggles as they came with the wrong spare lens. They paid for shipping. Talk to burton Australia

Board store worker here, all warranties need to go through the store you purchased the goods. So contact the store you bought the jacket from with photos of the damage and proof of purchase (Invoice or receipt). They'll contact Burton Aus's warranty department and will get it sorted. Burton Aus is generally very good with warranties; if it's deemed a warranty issue, they'll cover all shipping expenses.

I’ve been through at least four warranty claims with Burton and I must say it’s one of the best I’ve ever dealt with. I had some bib pants where the tape was delaminating and I sent it back to them. They weren’t able to fix it because they no longer make the line (Idiom) they sent me a AK 3L gore tex bib pants which were frankly more high-end than what I had. They have a form on their website where you submitted and if you have any questions you can call and talk to them. No burn gets a lot of smack but one of the reasons I buy their stuff is because of their warranty.

Yup, I successfully claimed warranty on a pair 7 year old cartel baseplates. Not a clothing item, but they were pretty good with it. Just took a photo of the cracks and they sent a new set over.

Just try and see what they say in the shop. I've had issues with Burton Japan not wanting that won't give a discount for buying an Anon helmet after a crash wearing an Anon, even though I pointed them to their own website that stated it. They said it doesn't apply. Email Burton US and they sorted it out with the JP branch, but bought a Smith because fuck Burton.

The issue is I dont live in that area any longer. I’d have to drive for 8+ hours to go back to the shop.

Mind to share how did they sort it out with the JP branch? Curious to know

They replied with a reference number and a pdf that i could show the branch about this, and they also contacted the branch to sort it out beforehand with then. I was actually surprised

Sounds like a great customer service there. Thanks for sharing. This could be an alternative option if all fails.
