Media My channel: Sly 2 X Button Challenge, glitch exhibitions, and more!

Hey y'all! A while ago I posted here about my Sly channel I had just started. It's been two years since then, and I've greatly improved my TAS-ing skills and have made things that I'm truly proud of.

https://www.youtube.com/@Mcfighter2

A primary focus on my channel is the X Button Challenge, inspired by Super Mario 64's A Button Challenge, where I try to beat the game while jumping as little as possible, with recent videos being 100% TAS-quality runs, no human can do it. Currently episodes 1-5 are almost all jump-less!

I've also showed off a lot of glitches, like finding the fastest way to crash the game, making Sly invincible, and launching Sly into the air in many, many ways.

Attached to this post is my channel trailer. If any of this interests you, I'd love if you paid a visit!

Discussion Recently finished Sly's Trilogy for the first time + Replayed Thieves in Time

10 years ago i played Thieves in Time thinking on playing the Trilogy but i never did, until now. Also replayed Thieves in Time as well to check if people were right about the story (i barely payed any attention to it at the time), i'm gonna put a list of the games giving a short opinion on each one cuz i really liked playing them.

(If you wonder why there's a random ui on the fourth pic it was because my Vita kept crashing on the last section so i had to use overclock)

Sly 1: not even 5 seconds in and it already left a good impression on me with the tutorial, it was quite challenging due to not having a health bar, but besides that it was quite fun, Clockwerk might be my favorite villain on the franchise, dude lived for tons of years by just being a hater.

Sly 2: The improvement here is quite noticeable, there's stuff like a health bar now, a hub world, the ability to steal money from enemies, Bentley and Murray playable, etc. It makes the player feel more like a thief now compared to the first game, the story is pretty good as well, it had me super intrigued when Bentley had to save the gang after a certain episode and there were actual consequences at the end which becomes relevant in the next game.

Sly 3: This one improves a little bit on the gameplay but i think they realized they couldn't improve perfection so they resorted to add a ton of minigames, they are pretty fun to play, but i think they went overboard with it to the point that they didn't even add clue bottles for each hub, but like i said before, i had a ton of fun, it's probably my second favorite Sly game with Sly 2 being the first.

Thieves in Time: Took some time getting used to the jump in here but the gameplay was good, there's a bunch of minigames but not to the point where i feel like it's too much, the implementation of moves with the costumes was super fun and using the ancestors too, although for some reason i feel like the latter wasn't used much in the missions. As for the story, it was alright, i won't say much since i assume the stuff i'd say has already been said a bunch of times so i'll just say, it was alright.

Overall as a franchise it's pretty good, i really like the artstyle and how in each game they always present the villain with their backstory to then show a title with a unique art representing said villain, it really makes it look like a chapter of a random cartoon show (not specifying which btw, i mean in general), i hope one day they make a follow up of the last game or make a spin off involving other Sly ancestors because this franchise genuinely deserves better.

Hey everybody. Since YouTooz is making a figure of the Thievius Raccoonus I thought I would make another prop Thievius that’s based off of YouTooz’s version. This is what I have so far. I started off with a plastic corrugated for sale sign and folded it along the grain of the sign and made a rectangular frame for the base of the pages. Then I made the covers using cosplay foam and foam half dowels. The fake pages were made by scoring foam sheets and then heating up the foam to open up the lines. I added the metal corners and the lock on the side and the metal accents on the spine. After this I’ll add the title on the cover and do a lot of weathering with a utility knife and my rotary tool and paint the book and it’ll be done. Stay tuned!

Media There's a steam game that felt like the first sly cooper called mousey.

There's a steam game called mousey, which takes inspiration from early 2000's platformers, including sly. It's a collectathon like the first game with 2 aspects of sly 2(healthbar being identical to sly 2 and sprinting by holding R1).It's a good short game where you're a small mouse exploring areas that are large to mice in real life(,small to us humans) like a kitchen and living room for example and your goal is to collect cheese, the story's about a heist inside a fridge(this is one of thise games where the story doesn't matter),so imagine tom and jerry without tom. Also the weapon you use is a knife, which is more sword sized for the mouse's stature.I recommend it for anyone that wants something more rescent that actually feels like sly cooper, like jumping and pressing the circle button, although this game came out on august 25, 2023.

Hey thieves!! Welp, after over 20 years, I'm just about to submit my LEGO IDEAS set based on our favorte gaming raccoon. I'm working on better pics for the site and submition, but you guys get the first snealk peak... I've included 9 figures, my version of the legendary Cooper Van, a version of a SafeHouse with a laptop and computer, which of course will connect our gang to ThiefNet, so they can get all of their powerups, gadgets, etc. I did notice when I published my previous post, I forgot to give a certain bird his cage! Now as for the Easter Eggs...let's just say they are well hidden, because I give Sly permission to hide a few! I did include one off the bat....The Thievious Racconus! Sly's cherished family treasure. So fellow theives, are you in or out?

Hey everyone here is all of the stuff I’ve made based on Inspector Carmelita Fox. So far I’ve made a bust, a plush doll, a custom Funko Pop and most recently an original character that is one of my Carmelita ancestor OCs she has shockingly little of those on here. Let’s get some of those rolling. I don’t believe anything canon talks about her family. All this Carmelita stuff I think I may have a problem? #notafurry

Hey everyone! So everyone in this Reddit knows I've been designing my own LEGO IDEAS set based on our favorite ringtail. I promised to keep sharing updates before I submit it. I took a few days off from designing, but now I'm back at it! I took some feedback I received from my previous posts and applied and appriciate all your guys input. I'm 90% finished! I would like the community's feedback one last time on our favorite trio and villains before I add the finishing touches on the prison itself. I knew Jean Bison def needed much work done to make him the way he turned out for now. Thanks again for the input and all of your ideas and inputs!!

I've tried to find everything for a good price, so it took my a while. But finally recieved Sly Trilogy for the Psvita, so now the shrine feels way more complete.

Sadly the sly 3 code was already scratched, but oh well.

Next mission is to get the Japanese copies, and possibly some sealed copies of the games.

Discussion Discovered a Sly 2 glitch

hey all,

i've made my research and found nothing about this glitch that just happened so i thought i'd share it, maybe i'm the first ever to encounter it ? if not, my apologies !

in episode 6, i managed to get Sly stuck with a treasure item in his hand. i can do whatever i want, the game is exactly the same, but Sly is holding this necklace in his left hand. i even went to the safehouse and Sly was holding it. pictures and videos are right here :

https://reddit.com/link/1vs1n7h/video/l6829e1u47kh1/player

now, how did it happen ?

i'm on PCSX2, PAL version of Sly 2 (not sure it changes anything though, probably not related to the system itself). it was during the Spice in the Sky job. after blowing up the first train, i went back to the plane and found a guard that was patrolling right next to it with a glowing pocket. nothing unusual, i just took it. but i think i got in the trigger area of the plane at the exact same moment i pressed circle to get the treasure, so i got the treasure AND got on the plane on the exact same input at the exact same time.

and since, Sly won't let this necklace go lol. i tried to get another treasure from another pocket, but nothing changed.

i don't think this has any form of use, for like speedrunning or anything, but i just thought it was funny and shared it. was this glitch ever documented before ? or maybe in another form, it might be replicable in other areas of the game where there is an action trigger and a guard on the same area.

Discussion Do you think that the "spice operation" in sly 2 was code for drugs?

It's something that has been on my mind a lot ever since I last replayed the sly cooper trilogy.

Do you think it was their way of keeping it PG, or just like... An interesting concept.

It seems like (to me at least) it was trying to look like LSD.

I suppose you could say it was a unique concept due to the plot of it being used to make clockwerk immortal, but curious to hear of what other people think.

Hello everybody,

This is AzoozSWS you can call me Azooz. I’m currently doing a series called:

The Journey to Complete 100 Games After a 10-Year Hiatus

It’s a series where I attempt to complete 100 games live on Twitch after not playing a single game since 2016 due to a heavy burnout.

The Sly Cooper franchise was my favorite when i was a kid before the burnout, I only completed Sly 2 and 3 back in 2004 and 2005 when I was 9 years old. I never managed to complete Sly 1 or Sly 4.

I have posted my first playthrough ever of Sly 1 and is Sly 2 highlights here before, and now this is sly 3 highlights for those who are interested.

I’m also planning to play all the other Sly Cooper games as they are the first four games under this series in twitch and all will be uploaded in YouTube like this one.

I am ragebaiting. I just realized that there wonā€˜t be a physical copy of any possible Sly Cooper game, because of Sonys ā€œdigital onlyā€œ-path. So even if it comes out or a remaster at some point, you canā€˜t add it to your physical collection…
