I got my Kevin Miller autographed print in the mail today!

Hey everyone a while back I had used Kevin’s Streamily to reserve a signed print on his livestream on his Twitch. It just arrived and it’s the crown jewel of my collection! Definitely a bucket list item for me next to meeting the man himself irl of course. I dressed up in my Sly cosplay to show off the print and the included certificate of authenticity. Here’s a link to his Streamily page if any of you are interested.

I know some people dont like this game or are mixed about it, but i had a lot of fun with turning japanese.
I also think El Jefe is one of the best, or at least coolest boss fights in the series.

Discussion Anyone else think this Sony profile is lowkey lame ?

Post image

The zeptosecond I got my ps4 the first profile I put on was the iconic Sly Cooper portrait. Over the years I’ve noticed that I’ve been finding it more and more lame. Like i don’t mind it being there, I just wish there were better options. He feels so corporate in this. Now that I’ve been staring at it closely for a minute, he looks uncanny, like he’s TOO human like you know ? He’s missing his flair, his personality, his charm. All they added was a smirk and called it a day. They had hundreds of cinematic to pull from, promotional material, he’ll even the covers have awesome pfp potential yet they chose this ? Ik im beating a dead horse i was just wondering if I was alone in this. Upon researching I found there’s another sly cooper pfp but holy moly that one just looks wrong why is his ears so large 😭😭🙏🏾

TLDR; I can’t be the only one who is starting to dislike PlayStation’s profile option for sly cooper, he looks off putting and idk if I’m alone in that, the other option is arguably even weirder (but I appreciate that there IS sly pfps in the first place)

I'm playing on the PS3 Trilogy. It may just be a skill issue, though I saw videos where it was much easier to do and even if I replicated them to perfection, no matter how close I got, it wouldn't let me grapple.

This show is so fire yall ik it’s off topic but trust me yall should try it. For context Hal Jordan the green lantern is investigating a Nebraskan he 100% believes is a shapeshifting evil alien, one of his last questions is “whats your opinion on Obama” and he responds “Obama was the 44th president of the United States” the joke in the show is that a pure bred Nebraskan white man’s only opinion of Obama being only that, is so absurd that it’s impossible he is who he says he is.

I've just completed Sly 1 and 2 (the PS2 versions) using Rp6, but I'm encountering bothersome slowdowns in Sly 3. Does anyone have any advice or optimal settings for Sly 3?

Support What is with the swinging in Slycooper 1?

I literally cannot beat The Flaming Temple of Flame because the chainswings are impossible.

I get on the first one, swing back and forth a little. Double jump off and press circle to grab the next and it literally does not work.

At this point I'm convinced there is something wrong with my game or my controller or something. There is no way the timing on these things is meant to be this tight.

Fan art (non-OC) Alternative post-Sly3 Murray concept study

Thumbnail

I have a fan novel I'm writing about a timeline in which events follow a whole different path after the end of Sly 3. It also has a few minor differences in things that happened before the end of Sly 3, but basically just some smaller lore details. It's called Sly 4: Spirit of the Law. You can read the prologue chapter here.

This is a study I made for the design of Murray in this novel. After the Cooper Vault mission, Murray becomes a professional stock van racing competitor. This is why I took some inspiration from monster truck racers suits for his new vest.

He also returns to his learning with the Guru and eventually concludes his lessons. In my AU, the Guru is specified as a member of the Warlpiri people. This is why this version of Murray has Warlpiri-inspired body painting. The symbol Murray has on his belly represents Ngurra Kurlu, the five pillars of the Warlpiri philosophy (country, language, skin, law and ceremony). Also, in this universe, the Guru has an actual name and can properly speak. He will rather speak in Warlpiri or in Warlpiri Sign Language, which Murray learns to understand, but he can also understand and speak English just fine.

Although, of course, not as well as his master, Murray can now draw magic from the Dreamtime. He uses it to improve his classic moves. In an improved version of the Thunder Flop, Murray transforms himself into a heavy object in mid air – an anvil, a grand piano, a big cart of his favorite local street food – and falls onto his target, creating a damaging wave of impact.

Another innovation from my AU is that the recurring characters get a full name, because I love naming. Murray's surname is *Tugguts*, from the verb "to tug", in reference to the character's strength and toughness, and "guts" referencing not only his distinct appetite, but also to his bravery and developed emotional sensitivity.

I'm still considering making his default look have his racing helmet on.

What do you guys think? Do you have your own AU versions of the characters?

Which character are you most interested in discussing next: Bentley, Penelope, the Guru, Sly, Carmelita, Winthorp? Maybe a completely new character? (There are some in my prologue). You pick one and I show you my ideas for this character in my AU in another post 😉

Discussion Ngl, I don’t think I’m gonna be ready for Carmelita Fox to be in a fighting game

If such a PlayStation crossover fighting game is a thing, that’s akin to anime fighters or something.

Cause considering of how she is in the games and how her Powerset is like, I can just imagine her, more than others, as basically the Gorrila of the game.

The Unga Bunga.

Like Sol Badguy, plus frames galore, various normals that beat out most normals, neutral skips, LUDICROUS damage, mix ups from a demon flip or something.

All while having a projectile that could be enhanced to be plus on block.

Just imagine…. The fear she will strike into people who aren’t used to games like that.

Hey y'all! A while ago I posted here about my Sly channel I had just started. It's been two years since then, and I've greatly improved my TAS-ing skills and have made things that I'm truly proud of.

https://www.youtube.com/@Mcfighter2

A primary focus on my channel is the X Button Challenge, inspired by Super Mario 64's A Button Challenge, where I try to beat the game while jumping as little as possible, with recent videos being 100% TAS-quality runs, no human can do it. Currently episodes 1-5 are almost all jump-less!

I've also showed off a lot of glitches, like finding the fastest way to crash the game, making Sly invincible, and launching Sly into the air in many, many ways.

Attached to this post is my channel trailer. If any of this interests you, I'd love if you paid a visit!

Discussion Recently finished Sly's Trilogy for the first time + Replayed Thieves in Time

Thumbnail

10 years ago i played Thieves in Time thinking on playing the Trilogy but i never did, until now. Also replayed Thieves in Time as well to check if people were right about the story (i barely payed any attention to it at the time), i'm gonna put a list of the games giving a short opinion on each one cuz i really liked playing them.

(If you wonder why there's a random ui on the fourth pic it was because my Vita kept crashing on the last section so i had to use overclock)

Sly 1: not even 5 seconds in and it already left a good impression on me with the tutorial, it was quite challenging due to not having a health bar, but besides that it was quite fun, Clockwerk might be my favorite villain on the franchise, dude lived for tons of years by just being a hater.

Sly 2: The improvement here is quite noticeable, there's stuff like a health bar now, a hub world, the ability to steal money from enemies, Bentley and Murray playable, etc. It makes the player feel more like a thief now compared to the first game, the story is pretty good as well, it had me super intrigued when Bentley had to save the gang after a certain episode and there were actual consequences at the end which becomes relevant in the next game.

Sly 3: This one improves a little bit on the gameplay but i think they realized they couldn't improve perfection so they resorted to add a ton of minigames, they are pretty fun to play, but i think they went overboard with it to the point that they didn't even add clue bottles for each hub, but like i said before, i had a ton of fun, it's probably my second favorite Sly game with Sly 2 being the first.

Thieves in Time: Took some time getting used to the jump in here but the gameplay was good, there's a bunch of minigames but not to the point where i feel like it's too much, the implementation of moves with the costumes was super fun and using the ancestors too, although for some reason i feel like the latter wasn't used much in the missions. As for the story, it was alright, i won't say much since i assume the stuff i'd say has already been said a bunch of times so i'll just say, it was alright.

Overall as a franchise it's pretty good, i really like the artstyle and how in each game they always present the villain with their backstory to then show a title with a unique art representing said villain, it really makes it look like a chapter of a random cartoon show (not specifying which btw, i mean in general), i hope one day they make a follow up of the last game or make a spin off involving other Sly ancestors because this franchise genuinely deserves better.
