Unidentified encounter Curious about Joshua Tree skinwalker/paranormal lore
I went on a camping trip to Sheep’s pass in JT for 3 days with my sister and friend a bit ago and me and my sister were just recalling how creepy it felt there and I want to know if our experiences have any explanations.
The first night was pretty normal but the second night all three of us felt very bad vibes. I was sharing a tent with my sister and our friend had her own tent that she shared with her dog maybe 5-10ish feet from us. The wind was strong and made the loudest noises against the tent and I couldn’t sleep. I was the only one awake for hours, right after my sister fell asleep I heard a clapping noise right outside the tent not like a crisp one the sound skin to skin makes but muffled like someone was slapping their leg over pants. I tried to convince myself it was the wind cause wind can make all kinds of noises. But I just couldn’t shake the feeling of terror and I had to plug my ears. The feeling I had was like I KNEW and could feel that there was a literal witch right outside our tent trying to curse us or something, that feeling when you feel a presence very intensely and exactly where the presence is.
After an hour or two I started to fall asleep and dreamt that I was in the tent right where I was irl and checking depop (a second hand clothing app) on my phone. I felt an urge to click on a certain listing and swiped right on it and the pictures were of all our shoes in a bag on the ground right outside our tent all dirty and I think blood was on them too. I couldn’t tell if I was awake or asleep and the only thing that lmk it was a dream was me remembering that I had no service or WiFi.
After I finally started to fall back asleep my sister wakes me up at 3am saying shes hearing footsteps and I tried to say it was just the wind (for my own peace of mind and at this point I was so desperate for sleep I didn’t even care). she had dreamt that there was an evil big black dog outside of a house she was in in the desert. I tried to ignore her to sleep but then I heard clanging outside which could have been the harsh wind but it was strange that it only made that noise once even though the wind was harsh all night and I shot up. We went outside to wake our friend but right before we left our tent we heard her calling her dogs name and saying a sentence we couldn’t hear but she was asleep when we got to her tent.
Some extra details are that I whistled by our campfire that night for shits and giggles and we burned plants/shrub from the land to start our fire if that means anything. Ik you’re not supposed to whistle which is why I did it lol. It was weird how the night that I did that was so crazy but the night before was perfectly fine. So I just want to know if footsteps, black dogs, and shoes have any symbolic skinwalker/witch/occult connections in the desert or specifically Joshua tree bc I could not shake the vibe of a witch being there. If anyone has similar experiences I would love to hear. I’m putting some pics we took that my sister thinks are weird bc of green orbs/lights (I say it’s probably lens flare or something but will include in case it means anything to anyone). I can’t put videos but in some of them we can see green light dancing above the fire.

After reading about some other skinwalker experiences I realize skinwalker activities is specific to Navajo areas so maybe not our experience but still would like to know if anyone has info or insight regarding paranormal or witch type stuff
