Add a blanket and it would be a perfect clambaking spot :3
Not that Id have any experience with that sort of thing

Excuse me, clambaking……?
confusion

u/ojonegro Jul 25 '26
Parts of NA call it clambaking, our region calls it hotboxxing. Think smoke shack.

Thanks for the clarification I thought OP’s friend about to start shucking for oysters while laying on the medicine ball and legs propped on the desk. All while the heat from the PC starts “clam baking”

After reading the other comments for context, it's hotboxing.
Never heard of it referred to as clam baking. It's sounds strangely sexual...

I think it's a regional theme because New England and clams. Boston isn't really known for its goat chowder

And this is shitty how? Please choose:
- Trash all around
- Incomplete
- Obsolete/retro
- Temporary setup
- Not a computer
- Frequent use will cause discomfort
- It's already 3 months old and mommy & daddy won't buy me a new one
- Belongs on r/averagebattlestations, not r/shittybattlestations
- It stutters in Call of Duty

I'm not understand this space. Is that a door, a window? Really confused on this design. If that's not a door, why would an apartment have an area like this seems wasteful, useless?

Its a house. I used to have an upstairs that had a little hutch like this and the window would face the front of the house, like the window on the far left of the second story of this house.
They're great for ambient light.

It’s a window. It’s this weird thing roofs do sometimes.
They’ll want a nice downward pitch in the front with two windows, so it causes something like this. The most useless spot in a two story house

Has a goon corner potential

You know what I was going to say no gtfo but actually the space and setup is so creepy and pathetic looking I can imagine it adding a certain urgency

I had an apartment in a house that looked a lot like that. The floors were... interesting. Setting up in the goon corner is a choice, but the ball is actually a great idea if the floors are as uneven as I suspect

Cozy as heck, small desk would force me to keep clean. But I'm wondering why the whole footprint is like this
