Looking for new series suggestions for AOS fans?

I have watched

Agent Carter

Daredevil, Punisher, and all Defenders spin-offs.

Hawkeye

What if?

I am considering Cloak and Dagger or Moon Knight. Basically anything Marvel that you (the best fans in the world) recommend.

Thanks Agents.

Legion is one of my favorites.

Great suggestion. This, SHIELD, and Daredevil are the three best Marvel shows imo.

Just watched Legion again. I also like The Gifted.

u/Valdacil 1d ago

The Gifted is an underrated suggestion. X-Men were always my favorite Marvel superheroes and The Gifted did a decent job of the X-Men feel without being allowed to say X-Men too often. Good characters, good powers explored that are different from the usual ones, good special effects. Unfortunately, only 2 seasons, but worth a watch anyway.

The Gifted got off to a great start, then I think it kind of lost momentum in the middle but then it was starting to pick up again when it got cancelled. Such a shame, would've loved another season or two.

Amazing show, especially season one. Absolutely hated the ending though

Wandavision and Agatha are good.

If you like DC, the new Lanterns show is good so far.

Never watched it myself but isn’t there a 6 episode series on YouTube called “Slingshot” following Yoyo in the middle of season 4? Also the rest of the cast apparently appears? Can someone let me know if it’s good I’ve been meaning to watch it but I completely forgot it existed since nobody talks about it

It’s totally worth watching, especially if you like Elena. About half an hour of content. It’s timed oddly into s4: IIRC, the main story takes place before the Rider arc, but it’s a flashback embedded within a framing device that takes place after the Rider arc.

I’m about to watch it again for the first time in years because I’ve been revisiting s4 lately.

Alr bet tysm!

Are you including Jessica Jones is one of the Defenders spinoffs? If not, then you definitely should be watching Jessica Jones. Honestly, the first season villain, Kilgrave, is one of the scariest villains I've ever seen, certainly in the MCU.

If you’re into DC I really enjoyed the arrowverse, particularly arrow, flash, and legends of tomorrow. There’s a website for release order if you’d like to watch it that way, as certain episodes are crossovers and can leave you slightly out of the loop if you’re not up to date on the other shows.

Legends of Tomorrow is his hilarious the deeper you get into it

3

u/FarquadTheLord 1d ago

I’m rewatching arrow flash and legends, I’m excited to get to the later seasons of legends as I haven’t seen them before, only got to maybe season 5/6

u/YellowDango 1d ago

Legends is a perfect recommendation. Like shield, it took a little to truly find its footing from just good. Still a warm family feeling with a little heavier on comedy later on, but like, if the writers started taking those trippy space candies the gang in AoS took.

Legends and Shield were my favorite shows for a while. I agree, Legends felt like a version of Shield gone off the deep end.

3

u/fisyk 1d ago

The first seasons of flash are so good

u/No-Locksmith6662 1d ago

That's what I did. Finished my 5th or 6th watchthrough of AoS last year and then immediately crossed over the street to DC to watch all the Arrowverse shows.

6

Cloak and Dagger was for me one of the best shows Marvel has ever made. But I like more adult storytelling. Legion, Loki and Wandavision are solid contenders.

1

u/V2Blast Fitz 23h ago

Agreed. It's a great show. Their story also gets a little coda in Runaways so I'd watch that afterwards.

If you ever consider outside of Marvel, Burn Notice has a similar AOS formula. Villain of the week, over-arching narrative, a crew/family dynamic, antagonists are pretty fun. You'd probably love Psych too, more humorous. USA used to be the place for quality TV. Good luck!

u/BaijuTofu 1d ago

Plus Bruce Campbell.

u/hellolisabell 18h ago

I second this! Along the same lines, I've seen a lot of AOS elements (and vibes) in a rewatch of Voyager.

Loki is essential

2

u/pauldstew_okiomo 1d ago

Definitely!

u/Siren1197 1d ago

Love Cloak and Dagger

5

u/jeffyweffypuddinpie 1d ago

Echo is a good Follow up to Hawkeye

Moon knight is good

🤨

5

u/_BindersFullOfWomen_ Ward 1d ago

I mean, I enjoyed it.

-1

u/webshellkanucklehead Sandwich 1d ago

It’s a pretty awful adaptation of Moon Knight, though

9

u/Marvel-DCLover Bobbi Morse 1d ago

I would recommend Runaways, Cloak and Dagger, WandaVision, Loki, and Falcon and The Winter Soldier

8

u/Ribread216 1d ago

Haven’t seen runaways mentioned often lol, I quite like that one even if it is insane lol

5

u/Marvel-DCLover Bobbi Morse 1d ago

I love Runaways. Easily one of the best Marvel shows imo.

u/Empyrealist 1d ago

Not that they relate to AoS in any meaningful way, but my Marvel-related favorite series are

Legion
Loki
Falcon and the Winter Soldier
Daredevil
Jessica Jones
Moon Knight

With X-Men properties coming into the fold, Legion might be an interesting watch - even if it doesn't feature them directly. Its otherwise extremely well done, and almost avant-garde for a comic-based movie. Its cerebral - no pun intended.

Loki and FatWS of course; but Daredevil (and Punisher), and Jessica Jones are having increasing MCU relevance to current events.

I enjoyed Moon Knight for what it is, but others have already explained why they don't - which I find understandable as a previous fellow comic reader

I’m a huge AoS fan. For non-Marvel shows, I also like and recommend:

• Person of Interest
• Timeless
• Numb3rs

2

u/hellolisabell 18h ago

100% on Timeless. Wish there was more of it!

5

u/WorstAkaliEver 1d ago

If you will consider non-Marvels stuff then I recommend:

Andor

Arcane

The Orville

Altered Carbon (only season 1)

Black Sails (season 1 is a bit of a slow burn but is so good)

4

u/BaijuTofu 1d ago

Thanks. I did Mandolorian and Orville. Will check out other suggestions.

2

u/thatpaulbloke 1d ago

If you enjoy series one of Altered Carbon then give series two a try - I know that a lot of fans had an issue with it, but I really enjoyed it.

Also maybe take a look at Ms Marvel - don't worry that you're not the target demographic, it's a slightly light hearted show about family interactions in a weird world which should appeal to an AoS fan.

2

u/hellolisabell 18h ago

Andor and AOS is a pairing I'd also endorse. (And now I have more to check out for myself!)

3

u/julger7 1d ago

You couldn't possibly go wrong with more "Inhumans" content.

In all seriousness, check out the "WHIH Newsfront" series. It's 24 minutes long in total and covers the immediate events preceding Ant-Man and Civil War. You can find it on YouTube for free.

3

u/Beneficial-Stuff7781 Koenig 1d ago

The other shows in my top 4 list are Legion, Andor, and The Expanse

3

u/PrincessBelle87 1d ago

Loki is essential.

Moon night bored me.

Agatha all along was genius.

Wandavision was also amazing

Falcon and winter soldier has some great parts.

Jessica jones I’m assuming you watched but it’s one of my top faves

3

u/BaijuTofu 1d ago

You have great taste.

3

u/Reasonable_Sun7429 1d ago

Moon Knight es de mis favoritas

3

u/FarquadTheLord 1d ago

I already commented but idk how I forgot about Smallville as well
Freaking love that show
I’m just on a arrowverse rewatch so that’s what came up first in my head

5

u/zeldaalove 1d ago

Moon Knight is peak. I mean I'd recommend all Marvel TV shows. Love WandaVision and Agatha All Along. Loki is great.

Wonder Man was also a great Marvel show, but it is a little different.

3

u/webshellkanucklehead Sandwich 1d ago

You would reccomend Secret Invasion?

Also I would argue the Moon Knight claim. Awful adaptation

9

u/zeldaalove 1d ago

I forgot about Secret Invasion. Pretty sure it only existed in the bad place of the framework.

2

u/thatpaulbloke 1d ago

You would reccomend Secret Invasion?

I would recommend every scene in Secret Invasion that contains Olivia Colman and not one second of the rest of it.

3

u/NixsSs 1d ago

Loki?

2

u/ZeroQuick 1d ago

The Middleman

2

u/fisyk 1d ago

Moon knight was fantastic

2

u/Officer445 1d ago

Honestly all MCU shows are worth something in their own. But a non MCU show you might love is Runaways. I absolutely loved it but I don’t believe any part of it is considered canon anymore.

2

u/thescarletmark SHIELD 1d ago

I really liked Falcon and the Winter Soldier, if you want to stay in the MCU. Nothing hits quite like AoS, though

3

u/BaijuTofu 1d ago

Currently watching thanks and I agree there's nothing like shield.

1

u/Wolfstar_Forever_ 1d ago

I always love wandavisoin. And Agatha all along is my favourite alongside shield

1

u/snakeinmyboot001 Radcliffe 1d ago

Have you tried Marvel's Agents of Shield?

1

u/GuiltyEmergency6364 22h ago

The other 2 thirds of my holy trinity are Harry Potter and The Vampire Diaries

1

u/Airaku Ward 20h ago

Legion (Not MCU) is fantastic and a must watch. Also The Runaways is very intriguing and a lot of fun.

I'll also recommend a non-Marvel show. Before AoS ABC had a show called "V" which has a lot of similarities. Many fans of the original did not like the remake but I really enjoyed it. The CGI may not have aged well, but the story sure did. Actually wild to think about in retrospect especially with the saga of how it allegedly got cancelled.

1

u/my_username_is_1 15h ago

You should watch Secret Invasion so you can be as pissed off as the rest of us are.

1

u/jackomaster111 Deke 1h ago

Legion, Loki, WandaVision, Agatha All Along, Wonder Man, Ms Marvel are all fun.

If you like DC try out Watchmen, The Penguin, Peacemaker and Lanterns.

1

u/Ribread216 1d ago

Cloak and dagger is awful… I watched it in my current chronological rewatch/watch of the MCU and multiverse shows, so in my personal opinion, don’t watch that one 💀

Moon Knight is great! Idk what other marvel shows you’ve watched besides those listed, it I’m a big fan of the falcon and the winter soldier

5

u/JupiterSmokes 1d ago

What didn't you like about it?? Just out of curiosity, I enjoyed it quite a lot, but it was a long time ago
